    Alshon Jeffrey

Is there anyone who took this guy willing to share a reason? The data on the matchup screamed to stay away… at least that’s how I read it. What did I miss and or read wrong?

He’s a flat out stud talent. The Bears praised his work ethic all training camp long, and it’s paying dividends.

If he was on a team without Brandon Marshall or another great WR he’d be a weekly WR1.

I’ve been hyping him all year without hesitation on GrindersLive.

Work ethic? I thought he was the guy everyone kept saying was fat in college?

I kept taking him because of Stl’s recommendations.

I’ve been waiting for him to have a breakout game, unfortunately missed on it this week.

Did you STL? According to the DK export you drafted him a grand total of 0 times. Way to back up your “advice”

I was on to him but stupidly took Thompkins over him on most of my cards.

Jeffery has 32 targets coming into this week which is 8 a game and 8 and 11 in last two games. He also had a TD in each of the last 2 weeks. Marshall did not practice all week with the exception of a partial on Friday.

In the DK 250 Grand tourney I played QB/WR combos and didn’t take Cutler, thus no Jeffrey. Also, his relative salary was higher on DK than it was almost every other site. Keep in mind that I play on six sites every week and diversify my rosters. Just because I like a guy doesn’t mean I’m going to play him on EVERY single site. Please don’t be so harsh with your comments until you have all the facts.

I played him in my Draft Day Bracket games…. and did quite well. Also played him on a Draft Street team. Obviously, I wish I would have played him a little more than I did!

He was targeted 11 times in Week 4 and Marshall missed some practice this week and it didn’t sound (or look today) like he was quite 100%.

Obviously no stat would tell you he was going to do what he did today but there were plenty of reasons to be high on him this afternoon.

Having been on the Sunday Early show all season with Cards, I can attest that he has been touting Alshon all season. And of course all of the shows are available “on demand”

With regards to the GrindersLive shows there are a tremendous number of picks that are mentioned in various ways.

HOWEVER, this has been a recurring play suggested by Cards all season.

Cards has consistently mentioned Jeffry as as WR2/3 or Flex option pretty much every week. This has paid off handsomely the last two weeks.

For me on this advice I went heavy with him as my WR2 on DD and FF…my other selections for DD were not the best this week for GPPs with Cobb, Blount and Josh Brown letting me down…Peyton was my top guy and Alshon was #2 with Rashad Jennings and Tony Gonzalez ytp…I should cash in a couple.

On FF I have Alshon on EVERY LINEUP and will be cashing in all of them, mostly since he put up 32.8pts at an easy on the cap 78k salary.

If you look at his game log assuming a 1 pt PPR scoring it is as follows over the last five weeks 9, 5, 12, 24, 38…so yeah, I can see why you want to question that advice.

I didn’t follow the advice every week… In fact, I’ve only rostered him twice this season. But as Ethan said, after all his targets last week, the Marshall situation, the need for the passing game this week and his price on most sites, I thought he was worth a gamble more than most. Finally worked out…

Man, Justin sure has been taking a lot of shots on the forum lately. What the hell did he do to you guys? Dude gives away GOOD information about players on a regular basis and you all want to dump on him.

I wasn’t implying he is not a good player. The matchup did not appear to be as optimal as other options. New Orleans was 2nd best against QBs and WRs scoring points. That was the stay away for me.

  • BernieKozar

Took your advice on him this week STL. Won like 90% of my HU’s this week because of it. Thanks a bunch!

  • noalias80

I missed out on that recommendation. While I didn’t do too shabby for myself, had I known then what I know now, I would have never rostered Victor Cruz, Broyles or any of the Patriots WRs lol

  • Mhesters

I thought it was a good question and the target/ Marshall injury info all that was needed as response.
