    Draftkings or Fanduel for GPPs?

Best suggestion I can give, play both sites for a few weeks and see which one you have more success with.

What metrics do you use to determine floor and ceiling is it just past performance? Where can one go to find out who will really be covering whom? Do you use GLSP when considering matchups?

For RB I look a DvP, Touches, Redzone touches, and Targets to determine a floor and ceiling. Fantasy points can throw you off, because sometimes guys will score 2-3 1 yard TDs, but have a really bad rushing day. Looking at these things, I can always give my self a good idea of who I like.

I use PFF for WR/CB matchups.

I prefer Fanduel for this GPP, I like the pay structure a lot more. I still play both, but will put more teams in the FD one.

I did pretty well last year in NFL and one of the main things I preach to myself is to not ride last weeks stats. I wasn’t a believer in devonte freeman, nor was I with Larry Fitzgerald. I like to look at large sample sizes of consistency and it seems like this year riding last weeks stats has worked well which I stubbornly refuse to do. So my question is should I change strategy or wager less until week 6 when there is a larger sample size in this yearly ever changing NFL.thanks

Always have a beer in one hand, and pong balls in the other. #HardWork and #Practice pays off. Always play after a few drinks, my mistake at the RG party was playing sober.

Not having facial hair is up there. Dean, you have to learn how to change a tire, and I will gladly teach you.

My big three.. WR/CB matchups, Targets, Touches. After this study DvP, and always stay on top of injuries on both sides of the ball.

I think this changes with every situation. Freeman is getting a ton of touches behind the best run block in the NFL. At this point you have to consider him, and it has nothing to do with fantasy points. Fitzgerald has a great relationship with Palmer, and they bought fought a lot of injuries. So again, I would recommend taking it situation by situation.

This season is moving fast, and we are getting a good idea of who is good with blocking, rushing, and all around defense. I would consider looking at this year, but not fully ignoring last year.

Thanks for the tips earlier! Here’s a follow up of sorts – When you lost that first 300 then put in the next 600 – what did you change? How long did it take for that $600 to start to turn into a serious BR? Did you focus on cash games or pop a couple of tourneys?

I’m more a casual DFS player who enjoys it for the fun and to see how I do, but as I get more and more into it I see that I enjoy trying to figure out matchups and low owned guys, etc.

However, I’m not that great at analysis and certainly don’t have the time to watch tape and whatnot.

What do you suggest would be a good starting point for someone like myself?

I’ve been playing the 250 man leagues on FD and doing OK, but I get killed in the bigger GPPS. I’d like to get to a point where I can put a LU in a single entry GPP and have some sort of opportunity to cash. Right now, I’m not even coming close.

  • slcseas

I’ve always felt that transparency in DFS includes true win/loss result tracking (read: profits). In light of recent events I feel even more strongly about it. It’s the best way to spot and prevent cheating/fraud.

What are your thoughts about this?

If DFS gets regulated and the new rule is NO Multi-entry tournaments, no H2H, or leagues under 12 people, how would this effect you “pros”?

  • yeahthisiscuddy

If you could only make 1 lineup per slate, how would you go about it? And how would that differ from your current process? Thanks for your time!

I put in a lot more time. I have always been around 50/50 in GPP/Cash.

The biggest thing about GPPs, you have to find the upside. Vegas projects a high scoring game, look for the value in those games, and nail the chalk in the other games.

You have to take risk, and can’t be afraid to lose when playing GPPs.

I don’t think it would be good for newer players, or people who do this for entertainment.
