    Are you profitable in MLB?

For nba do you read game previews ? And if you do what site to you prefer?

Thanks for taking the time to do this.

I’m a noob to DFS…what are the best games for me to enter…I play mostly NHL. I have stuck with 50/50’s and double ups mostly. But more specifically games that involve multiple entries, guaranteed, etc. Some games take more than a 10% cut, should they be avoided? Unless they are guaranteed and not full?

If DFS gets regulated and the new rule is NO Multi-entry tournaments, no H2H, or leagues under 12 people, how would this effect you “pros”?

We will just have to see what happens, Good players will excel in any type of format imo.

If you could only make 1 lineup per slate, how would you go about it? And how would that differ from your current process? Thanks for your time!

I make 1 cash lineup per site, and completely go site by site. Fanduel plays aren’t always good plays on DrafKings. I would recommend finding value on each site, and building one site at a time.

What is the best single day you have ever had in DFS in terms of profits? THanks

Last NBA season I profited 18k one night. This was the best “one day” hit for me

Yes, luckily this year I had a really hot month run, it paid for a lot of ups and downs.

I don’t. NBA isn’t something I don’t play everyday, and I’ll be first to admit it’s not my best sport. I play a lot of GPPs.

I think double ups are the best way to build a bankroll. My personally, I always play my cash (double up) lineup in at least one single entry GPP. This lineup is the lineup I spend the most time on.

Rake is something that is overlooked a lot. I always try to pay attention to this, but it’s not something I’m good at tbh.

    “Women are the rake!”

  • SS11

I think it is something players should pay attention to…figuring it out is fairly simple…take the total $ of all entries, subtract the prize amt, then divide that by the prize amount.
I.e. if there was a $10 contest with 11 entries ($110) and $100 in prizes, then you would subtract the amount of the rake $10 and divide by the prize amount, $100 in this case, meaning the rake was 10%. In my opinion no one should pay more than that…some of these games are at 14.94% on FD. Eventually as the boom dies down, I think these sites will use lower rakes as a way to attract more players to their site.
As it stands now, are there any sites with lower rakes in general?

what percentage of your bankroll do you play on a given slate?? does it vary for sport??

  • bcoffey90

Call me whiskers, I’m as curious as a kitten.

DK player. Injury report aside, do you find it better to sub guys before lock or leave your lineups as they are? At what point are you OK with your lineups? Is there a format that compares with last minute subbing/in game switch? Is there anything that would make you sub mid contest besides an injury? And the night you won 18k…..can you expand on that? Did you know you were gonna kill it? How many/much lineups/cash did you put in? Formats were involved? Which site paid you the most? Do you have a better comparison to DK in % owned as far as FD? Lastly, If you had to play on one DFS site forever, which would it be? why?

  • tyrant1014

With all of the information floating around out there. For GPPs where do you actually sit down and start your research. I.E. on tuesday when stats are finalized, where do you start. Over unders, matchups, etc?

How do you watch NBA games (League Pass from cable, NBA.TV, Roku, etc.)?

Asking for a friend who is not great with technology, but annoyed that his cable provider does not have all games in HDTV.

  • HecticAardvark

I am new to DFS, I have been playing NFL since Week 4.
My routine right now, is to start by making a list of players by looking at DvP, then I will look at the top ranked players per position, make sure I try to identify the chalk play or who to fade, and finally I look for stacks I really like. Then I watch y’all on Wednesday nights to see how I did against y’all and compare & contrast. I throw these players into an excel lineup generator and also used the one here on Rotogrinders. It is near impossible to go through all of those lineups.
To what extent do you use lineup optimizers/builders/etc.? How can you get the most from hundreds of thousands of generated lineups? Should I completely go away from these lineup generators and start making them by “hand”?

    Thanks.

Playing on FD I started with ~100 and have been entering 10X $1 2X 5$ and 2X 10$ H2H’s with one cash game lineup. Currently every week I’m winning and losing. When Building bank roll is my method effective or would you recommend a different way of spreading funds?

Also as a follow up in GPPs I usually spend ~10$ in entry fees these vary based on what I feel like entering. But for GPPs do you feel that the QB/WR combo is something that is completely necessary to have a winning lineup? or is that just trashing your lineup in most cases?

Lastly, guys like Devonte Freeman being owned at 40-50%……do you avoid these players in tournies knowing that they are highly owned?

Thanks, for your time……the information you’ve been providing in this thread is such a huge help.

  • Kleano

When building GPP lineups for NBA, do you have a limit on how many players from the same team you’re willing to stack? Or do you avoid certain position combos? For example, would you ever play Blake Griffin and DJ in the same lineup?
