We heard customer feedback for greater options and flexibility with rewards. We’re excited to announce that today we launched our new DraftKings Rewards program → https://www.draftkings.com/lp/draftkings-rewards

Below is a quick run-down of the key things you should know about our DK Rewards program:

    1. Start claiming your Daily Rewards here: https://www.draftkings.com/lp/daily-rewards
Remember, each reward is tied to a specific day so make sure you log into DraftKings every day to claim all the rewards you’ve earned.

    2. What You Earn

Crowns (NEW – formerly FPPs): For every $1 you spend on entering paid contests earns you 1 Crown (minimum $1 entry). Like FPPs, Crowns determine your Daily Rewards Status Tier each month and can be redeemed for Tickets and merchandise in the DK shop. Your FPP balance won’t change, and you can still earn Crowns from completing Missions.

XP/Levels (NEW): Your level is based on how much XP you have earned in DraftKings. Levels are a way to show off how much you have played on DraftKings. More info here: https://www.draftkings.com/lp/my-level

Contest Tickets: Tickets allow you to enter contests for free. Some tickets may only be used in certain contests.

DK Dollars: DK Dollars act like cash when used for entry into any contest. However, you cannot withdraw DK Dollars from your account.

    3. How to Earn Your Rewards: Claiming Daily Rewards, Raising your XP and Level, Entering Paid Contests, Completing Missions and Earning Achievements

    4. Redeem Your Rewards in the DK Shop for contest tickets (Note: US residents may also redeem rewards for apparel and merchandise in the DK Shop)

We’ll be reading your feedback and discussing the changes with you, giving you a voice on future features. If you have any questions, please see the FAQs (https://www.draftkings.com/lp/draftkings-rewards) and if you have additional questions, we’ll do our best to answer.

The experience level link does not seem to be working. I have been reading about this the past few minutes and I am not quite sure I am following. Is there anything to this other than a badge to differentiate experience levels? If I level up do I get more favorable missions or better rewards? I noticed that the last three days of the month my daily reward is experience points. I haven’t seen a description of the benefits of the different levels (unless it is on the broken link).

  • KindGuy

How was my status tier for the month of July determined? It says I’m Gold yet I was in the Silver freeroll earlier this month for the FPPS/Crowns I earned in June. Of course I’m not complaining but I’m just curious.

  • lpdev

Very cool and thanks for the early rewards! Where do the XP levels show up aside from the personal page you linked? Will these be added to contest lobbies?

Or in H2H lobbies? At first glance these seem much more informative than the old experience badges.

I hope so. I’d much prefer to see a player level instead of the experience badge.

  • flip4flop

Well at least I get to be Diamond for the next 7 days before slumming it back to Gold

  • saintsfannca

So XP does nothing except raise your “level”? (which does nothing in terms of money/tickets/or spendable FPPs?)

Wouldn’t it behoove a player to NOT claim the XP, to appear as a worse player??

  • Supersharpie

So wait, what exactly is the monetary value of XP points? 550 “crowns” = $1. How about XP points?

nothing as I am reading it.

you will get a different color badge with a number “level” on it to brag how good you are…

pretty lame I think. as I mentioned, I think people like sharks will skip those to appear smaller

Yeah…that is pretty lame and not at all the way the daily rewards were initially pitched, which was that you would receive a ticket or FPPs every day.

  • Supersharpie

In fairness though, DK is still kicking FD’s ass when it comes to rewarding their regular customers!

there are still tickets and FPPs (now called crowns) available throughout the calendar. As a July “Gold” user, I got a ticket today, and can see that I will get one tomorrow, followed by 85 “crowns” the two following days, followed by a “hidden reward” day (hopefully contest tickets…)

but then followed by those days are 300XP for 2 days in a row….those are the days I have a beef with.

As I am currently understanding it (and I could be wrong) but I personally just will skip those days and not claim those rewards. There is no monetary/statistical/etc. advantage to displaying how “good” you are at daily fantasy. We all wish we could still play beginner and casual contests. If anything it is more favorable to appear as a lesser player… So if there is no advantage to me playing a free contest, collecting FPPs (crowns), or getting money, there is absolutely zero reason to claim those rewards. And if anything it is a disadvantage to claim those rewards. People might be scared away by playing against someone with a high “level”. I know I would personally avoid somebody who has some mega-high level.

this just seems like a dumb oversight by draftkings. these are basically throwaway days by them as rewards. I’d rather take 1FFP (crown) than 10,000XP. it is beneficial for a player to NOT claim these so they don’t scare away compeititors.

Reading their website, all it says XP gets you is a new level… every 10th level you get a new badge. wth is that? this isn’t clash of clans, i don’t want a stupid badge. this is DK, we’re playing for money

  • Sebadiah23

I got bumped up to Black level because I squeaked into Diamond last month. The daily rewards have been $25 and $20 so far. Pretty cool. Anyway, I really want to know what that mystery day is. Is it higher, or merely a mystery?

  • yisman

I was diamond last month (and every month before that going back to when they created the tier, IIRC) but did not get bumped up to black.

I also hit Diamond last month and didn’t get bumped to Black.

  • deleted1017

Why does this have to be so confusing?

  • Rasmus

For every $1 i spend on you site i get a reward worth $0,0018. That means if i spent $555 on your site i get one dollar back. Wow!

That is not true at all since there is so many ways to pick up extra FPP’s. For example my average daily mission is play a $20 contest and get 400 Crowns. So on an average day I spend $20 and get 420 “Crowns” which is worth $0.76. Plus there is also things like the big league achievements and the new daily rewards so for me playing around $20-$40 per day I can get about $1-$4 back in rewards through all the methods.

    Couldn’t agree more.

They really dropped the ball with this whole XP program, hopefully they can make some sort of adjustments to it to make getting XP actually desirable.

There NEEDS to be some sort of bonuses awarded for reaching new levels, gaining XP, etc.

I just don’t see the need to even have this XP system rather than to dupe players into trying to gain XP by playing more contests and subsequently paying more rake, but getting NO rakeBACK in return.

Just a stupid badge to appear in their profile that ultimately has ZERO value rather than to be aesthetically pleasing/turn off for users to play you in H2H if you have a high XP badge.

  • saintsfannca

agree. i would really like some answers about the whole XP thing. it’s a complete waste of a reward. I am still waiting for the DK rep to sign in and explain what they were thinking.

i like the daily reward system, i don’t want to bag on that. but clearly whoever came up with this XP idea was way off the mark.

if XP worked toward moving you up tiers (bronze, silver, gold, etc.) it would be cool… but upon reading that it just “levels” you up (which means literally nothing) is really disappointing.

I’m hoping this gets changed. Give the user the choice over taking really small amounts of crowns if DK is gonna be stingy and give away nothing (XP). Again, unless I am somehow misunderstanding this, XP is LITERALLY giving away NOTHING. You could offer me 1BILLION XP and I would rather take 1 crown. Crowns and tickets actually hold a tangible value… XP is nothing.

I think DK was going for a trendy app update with colorful badges like clash of clans or whatever (not sure, i’ve never played that kind of stuff on my phone) but DK isn’t that type of app. The description of XP on the website says “brag to your friends” about your level. I’m not bragging about the color of my badge on DK, that’s not the reason we bet money on DK, it just could not be more off the mark. whoever came up with that idea should probably be fired. I get that DK wants to “give away” free stuff, without having to really give away too much because they are a business… but come on, this is literally giving away nothing and trying to sell me on that it is cool.

if your boss gave everybody at work paid time off, or higher pay, but you got a different color sticker…. you’d be like wtf, i don’t want this sticker… XP is that sticker.

XP Levels were created as an easy way for users to show off how much they play on DK. While we know not all players will care about XP or levels, for those players who want to share this feature, they have the option. We are considering further advancements for XP, Levels and Rewards and feedback is taken into consideration.

There is no currency value for XP or levels or rewards for achieving a new level at this time.

Very cool and thanks for the early rewards! Where do the XP levels show up aside from the personal page you linked? Will these be added to contest lobbies?
XP level is not shown in contest lobbies, but experience badges will continue to be seen within contests. You can view your XP and the level you earned by viewing your profile page on our website, or on iOS and Android apps.
So XP does nothing except raise your “level”? (which does nothing in terms of money/tickets/or spendable FPPs?)
Wouldn’t it behoove a player to NOT claim the XP, to appear as a worse player??

Yes, XP are automatically awarded to you for every contest entry you make on DK. Every ten levels you’ll earn a new badge to showcase your level. We are looking at further advancements to the Rewards program and feedback on xp and levels is looked at on an ongoing basis for consideration

There is no currency value for XP or levels or rewards for achieving a new level.

So wait, what exactly is the monetary value of XP points? 550 “crowns” = $1. How about XP points?
XP is a measurement of personal experience. There is no monetary value for XP points.
there are still tickets and FPPs (now called crowns) available throughout the calendar. As a July “Gold” user, I got a ticket today, and can see that I will get one tomorrow, followed by 85 “crowns” the two following days, followed by a “hidden reward” day (hopefully contest tickets…)

The spirit of the XP and Level feature is an option for the casual player who wants to enjoy bragging rights and achieving milestone levels for their play. While we think it’s a cool feature for players who want to share amongst friends, we realize some players will not care about earning XP or new levels. XP and levels do not replace the existing experience badge system which takes into account specific play and winning milestones (https://www.draftkings.com/experience-badges)

Yes, you have option to skip your daily awards and in turn wouldn’t earn XP for them.

well there’s the answer we feared, i was right.

Quote: “There is no currency value for XP or levels or rewards for achieving a new level.”

i am just not sure why Draftkings would even have XP as a reward? It isn’t a reward… The demographic that would think it is cool to “earn a new badge, and brag to their friends about it” isn’t old enough to play Draftkings. Maybe 8-14 year olds think that is cool, but I think Draftkings just really misjudged their demographic on this. Even a casual DFS player is there for a chance to make money playing fantasy sports.

Could you at least make an option on XP reward days for the user? For example 300XP or 50 crowns? I don’t want to essentially miss multiple days of rewards, because I’m not a child who wants to show off a purple sticker on my phone

  • joephoto

Have NO idea how to access the “DK Dollars” I supposedly got.

Looks like they came in a green bag.

  • bigez952

I want to meet the person that wants to brag about their XP level as that would be probably the saddest thing as I have ever seen. Maybe eventually we will be able to trade in 10,000 XP for a lollipop to enjoy after our nap time. Or maybe they can just mail gold stars to hang on my fridge so my kids get jealous of me and they will really be exited to play draftkings when they get old enough. Then once they earn their very own gold star they can brag to the neighbors and get them to play as well. Maybe this is actually a genius marketing idea to get more future players.
