We heard customer feedback for greater options and flexibility with rewards. We’re excited to announce that today we launched our new DraftKings Rewards program → https://www.draftkings.com/lp/draftkings-rewards

Below is a quick run-down of the key things you should know about our DK Rewards program:

    1. Start claiming your Daily Rewards here: https://www.draftkings.com/lp/daily-rewards
Remember, each reward is tied to a specific day so make sure you log into DraftKings every day to claim all the rewards you’ve earned.

    2. What You Earn

Crowns (NEW – formerly FPPs): For every $1 you spend on entering paid contests earns you 1 Crown (minimum $1 entry). Like FPPs, Crowns determine your Daily Rewards Status Tier each month and can be redeemed for Tickets and merchandise in the DK shop. Your FPP balance won’t change, and you can still earn Crowns from completing Missions.

XP/Levels (NEW): Your level is based on how much XP you have earned in DraftKings. Levels are a way to show off how much you have played on DraftKings. More info here: https://www.draftkings.com/lp/my-level

Contest Tickets: Tickets allow you to enter contests for free. Some tickets may only be used in certain contests.

DK Dollars: DK Dollars act like cash when used for entry into any contest. However, you cannot withdraw DK Dollars from your account.

    3. How to Earn Your Rewards: Claiming Daily Rewards, Raising your XP and Level, Entering Paid Contests, Completing Missions and Earning Achievements

    4. Redeem Your Rewards in the DK Shop for contest tickets (Note: US residents may also redeem rewards for apparel and merchandise in the DK Shop)

We’ll be reading your feedback and discussing the changes with you, giving you a voice on future features. If you have any questions, please see the FAQs (https://www.draftkings.com/lp/draftkings-rewards) and if you have additional questions, we’ll do our best to answer.

7 tickets, most likely .25 tickets. I’m not complaining just mentioning what I had hoped for

Fair enough, in the few days they ran it in July, they had .25T and 1T listed separately on the rewards page, now it looks like its just 1T so that could be any ticket unless they just scrapped doing the .25 tickets and made all of them $1.

Since we can’t technically withdraw them, please do not factor this into our 1099s.

    Thanks!

I’m assuming you meant lower tiers!

Thank you for pointing that out, fixed!

All my Big League Achievements (including having played 121 days entering today) are wiped clean on my account today. I sent them a note, but please be a minor glitch.

There was a brief outage, the problem has since been solved.

Yep, I am satisfied and look forward to seeing what the first full month of rewards provides, esp since I achieved diamond status for the first time ever.

Wow, Diamond is huge accomplishment. Congratulations.

Gold’s worth $7 in tickets throughout the month, almost 200 crowns, plus whatever comes up on the Mystery Days. That’s easily worth more than the $2ish dollars in value you got from the monthly contests before.

Thats one of the great things about our new DraftKings Rewards program, it is transparent – while still providing an element of surprise. You can review how much we are returning to the players at each tier, and in turn we will see more winners from rewards thn ever before!

Do the DK rewards dollars count as taxable income? Since we can’t technically withdraw them, please do not factor this into our 1099s.

It is up to the IRS to determine how our rewards are treated, it is DraftKings job to remain compliant with their decisions. Unfortunately we have no say in the matter, it’s not our decision to make.

Next month you might experience a different reward calendar, each month is designed to have the potential to take a different path. In its current iteration, XP was not intended to be used at the Silver and Gold tiers beyond the week long preview period in July. We have plans for XP and Level in the big picture, they will evolve to have additional functionality over time.

Was seeing how this played out for a week or so before i either ignored it angrily (expecting this) or just accepted things but honestly im liking my return so far in comparison to the previous system. Every little bit extra keeps me playing more.
    Thanks.

Why so much complaining about the xp. While i agree that they are basicly worthless( unless you like to brag), the other rewards they put out out are far better than previous rewards. It does give casual players an incentive to play more, thus giving us bigger tournaments. Also gives much more free play and flexibility. I never complain about getting stuff for free by doing something i already do. But thats just my opinion, i could be wrong. Also i think alot of it stems from the fact that its a way to keep professionals from the casuals. I dont see mlb players complaining about not being able to play beer league softball players.

The XP thing is just tilting because basic functions of the website like lineup editing dont work correctly, so sort of tilting to see resources going into an XP system that no sane person should care about.

I agree that its sort of unfortunate for DK that XP got a lot of the headlines with the rewards changes. The new system definitely seems like increased value to the player, at least for August. All still in the context of rake levels that are way too high of course, but the rewards changes themselves was a positive IMHO.

  • walleye734

I don’t understand why they try all of these little gimmicks. Just offer rake back to everyone and be done with it.

You did a great job of expressing our point of view. We appreciate the vote of confidence!

I would like to see wagers in the sports book worked into the reward systems.

The SportsBook is brand new, and remains exclusive to New Jersey at this time. Eventually we hope to provide an incentive program, we are not ignoring our customers in New Jersey.

If we asked 100 random DK players if they got the chance to vote for which feature we would roll out next, which do you think they would choose?

    (1) Improve the Lineups Page so the top 1% of all active players have a better experience
    (2) Develop a new rewards program that incorporates an experience tracking solution that will someday be used to help retain players. Not only are the rewards better, but the experience tracking solution will help DraftKings maintain big prize pool guarantees.

Our research showed that the majority of our customers would choose option #2. Prior to undertaking any major development project like our new Rewards system, our coworkers issue surveys and perform extensive research to assure any proposed changes to the DK ecosystem are well received.

PS: The Lineups Page is not being ignored, the issues and potential improvements are on our radar.

hahahahaha OK lets find out as that is a wild claim

Also, thanks for talking down to me while I play $150K a month on your site and ask for only a functioning lineup page. Maybe FanDuel is a better place for my September action.

Maybe one way that DK can spend resources better is not paying a couple of jackasses to talk down to some of their most loyal and profitable customers.

Also the lineup page problems are not isolated to the “top 1% of active users” as I suspect you will hear soon enough in my new thread.

This is basically rakeback with a customer engagement feature as they want people to visit the site/app everyday. Seems pretty reasonable to me.

That seems like a very flawed research study to put any specific known issue against a vague system that may or may not benefit the user such as “Develop a new rewards program that incorporates an experience tracking solution that will someday be used to help retain players”

Leaving an option really vague and making the claim that it will someday improve everything will win any survey 99% of the time since everyone is going to form their own opinions of what this new system will be and of course fall in love with their dream only to be disappointed when “someday” rolls around and it is nothing like they imagined.

The lineup issue doesn’t affect me as I am single entry player but with research studies like that you can kill any specific issue you want as long as you put it up against a vague option where the survey taker can morph it into something that personally affects them.

The support team that is posting on RG is developing a habit of posting vague gobblygook that sounds sophisticated but doesnt say much.Theyve done it at least twice in the sportsbook thread where they were trying to explain why non-competitive lines were actually competitive.

This account is off to a bad start in these forums IMO. Ive overall had a very positive experience and relationship with DK support personnel during my time as a customer, and this account is working hard to undo that relationship. The new player feedback council or whatever it is called is good step by DK if executed properly. Outreach to the RG community through the forums, if done correctly, is a great idea. It always has a PR component, but done correctly it can facilitate a better relationship between players and the site.

But, as those of you who have experience in poker or at the 2+2 forums probably know, forum reps can be either incredibly helpful or can be just a shill account parroting the company line.

Right now we have a couple of interns doing middling to bad PR under the guise of community outreach. Hopefully DK can make some adjustments and we can get real customer outreach in these forums.

I’d have voted for an improved lineups page. I never have enough lineups that my page hangs, but DK made an inexplicable decision to remove filtering settings after one changes a single lineup. That change makes absolutely zero sense. Keep the filtering static until it’s reset or the page is refreshed.

Also, one should be able to determine ones’ player percentages within specific tournaments, not just within entries across a single sport.

The lineups page is sorely in need of improvement, much more than the rewards system was. The former is integral to how one uses the site and enjoys it on a day-to-day basis.

If you can’t be bothered to make 2 extra clicks to get your free rewards, that is on you. This is literally the same as every casino ever…you earn points while you play (which DK is already providing as you get FPP/Crowns for every contest you enter) and then if you want to receive the extra bonus you click a button (nearly every casino would have a rewards player desk or kiosk where you have to go to claim your daily points beyond what you earn at the tables (or by entering a contest)

Even if you forget about the mission when you first build your lineups, you can click it, withdraw an entry that would fulfill it and then re-enter the contest to claim your bonus. The missions and now daily rewards DK is offering are a great bonus and I’ll gladly take them all day. I do agree with others that the XP which has no current purpose is a bit pointless and would prefer some site enhancements first, but the rewards system is pretty solid. It would be kind of nice if they showed players XP levels in the H2H lobby as that would be a useful avenue to apply the XP system by allowing newer players to avoid guys with millions of contests played

Mission UI on the app could use improvement in certain scenarios (where you have locked a previous day’s mission for a contest that has not yet started), but its a relatively minor quibble.

I’ve never received a survey from DraftKings, has anyone else? Where is your research coming from if you’re not polling or surveying with your customers? Even if DK didn’t want to send e-mails out, couldn’t you just run a poll or survey through the DK website?

I received a survey a few weeks ago to get my opinion and feedback about the reserving lineups feature which basically asked how many times have I taken a 0 due to not being able to get a lineup in on time and gauging the importance of making it impossible to reserve a lineup so no one could ever take 0’s for no lineup if they missed lock.

  • tippycat

I love it. Last night a 3+ wager gets one a 100 crowns. It helps us ‘little guy’. Which would once require $100 to get that reward. BTW, the people than COMPLAIN the most are Soldiers{I was one} and gamblers. DK, keep the current system.

That’s interesting, I didn’t get that survey but I want to give my take in case the DK reps are still reading this thread.

I have got zeros before from reserving entries, because I didn’t realize they don’t show up in the DKEntries.csv file. My double-check consisted of checking all the rows of that file, so I missed my reserved entries. You can keep the same system, but put them in the csv (with blanks for the players or something) and I’d be happy.

Or do what FD does and auto-fill a dummy lineup instead of reserving.

A million times this. I much prefer the FD dummy lineup to the DK “reservation”. I’d like something front and center on my lineups page that shows me that I have a lineup I haven’t yet updated. .

But instead of using the reservation feature couldn’t you just use 10 extra clicks and randomly make a dummy lineup. I answered the survey this issue was a 0 out of 10 importance to me ask I have never once in my 5 years of playing missed a lineup due to reserving and for the ones that don’t like I always figured they could take 10 seconds and fill out a dummy lineup if they so choose. Maybe it is different for me since I normally only play 1 line up in 4-5 contests so it would be really tough for me to mess that up.
