    Hey Grinders,

I just wanted to announce my exciting new role as Director of NHL content at RotoGrinders.

I wanted to touch base with all the hockey fans out there to see what you liked about RG’s NHL content last season, and what you didn’t like.
Also, we want to know what you would like to see more of for the upcoming season.

Your feedback is very important to us, as we work to continue to provide the best fantasy product on the market!

Feel free to post your suggestions here.

This might be the first forum I’ve ever been on where the words Corsi or Fenwick don’t drive people off the rails. :D

I really hope Jay Willy comes back. How many guys can say they’ve played in both DK live finals?

  • Trevmitch27

When will contests open for draftkings and fanduel?

  • kantiger77

I’m not as an expert on NHL though had fun with it in the last month of the season, and did okay. I’d love to learn more about the wisdom of line stacking, as someone else alluded to; as well as some places to use for research for earlier season plays when stats have not built up yet to develop a consistent pattern you can rely on with certain players.

I find with the NHL more then any other sport you really really need to watch the games to get a feel for the players

Most DFS players enjoy watching the game. It’s certainly entertaining with it’s fast pace, exciting goals, big hits and plenty of fights. We need to get them playing the daily game as well.

It would be cool if there was a twitter account similar to @mlbHR but for NHL goals.

    Totally agree

    Congrats Pepsi.
I would like a daily Grinders Live show, maybe take off Sunday due to the crazy Sunday start times.
Access to advanced stat correlations by line. For example, Corsi Differential % when Taveras/Bailey/Lee are together.
Projected shots on goal by team and player
    Everything else has been mentioned.
I enjoy listening to JayWilly’s thoughts as well.

We are excited to announce that Jay Willy will be writing an advanced statistics article every Tuesday and Thursday, available through our NHL incentives package.

I agree. I also think people are not going to win GPPs playing just superstars that get all the publicity, you have to take a shot at obscure lines. something like jordan Staal, skinner , Rask , trochek, smith, jokinen. sometimes you have to go against the grain. it doesn’t work all the time of course, but it works more than one would think. I let the crowd use up there cap space playing Crosby every night.

    Need? No.

But I’d wager the information gained by watching outweighs any adverse biases you also pick up.

I’ll raise you a hot take. Let me mentor a new player to NHL that never watches a single game and I can make them a winning player. I’d do it myself, but what fun is it not to watch the games?

I don’t really enjoy watching the games very much unless it’s the Flyers (fav team). I prefer not to watch the games when I have a lot of lineups in play unless I have guys in the last game and I’m close to the top.

I grew up playing the game so I’d much rather play than watch.

This added focus on hockey seems like a step in the right direction! Pepsi has always been entertaining and his passion for the game will result in successful content.

Personally I’ve always enjoyed Boggs and Jay’s insights. Both are profitable players and their opinions are both valuable and respected.

-Vegas lines are useless for hockey IMO and should left out of any discussion.
-Advanced stats should be discussed in more detail and Jay is definitely the man to cover this.
-Game theory and Roster construction are topics their needs to be more emphasis on.
-Accurate Lineup alerts would be nice but both DF and LWL do a good job covering those
-Daily Process segment that covers off what the most successful hockey DFS’ers would add value.
-Finally… would be nice to see Live Event coverage like the other sports have received.

Kudos to RG and hopefully we can grow GPP’s and Prize Pools for the sport.

Just curious why you think Vegas lines are bad with hockey?

I wish someone would mentor me in MLB, because the only thing I’ve accomplished playing MLB, is being able to pick some lame ass lineups. I doubt anyone could make me a winning player in MLB. Haha. I am sure glad hockey is back.

LOL wiseass obviously you don’t need to watch the games with how you play. Neither does Saahil lol nice to see you back my friend, how was the off season?

  • pomppomp

Pep, how about a sortable sheet where we can see who factored into each player’s goals (assists, PP, +/-, by %)?

  • FantasyTime69

So are we going to get a game by game preview with suggested players? Like green light for the locks yellow for marginal red for duds?

Last year if I remember correctly there was a grind down on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. It had elite plays and secondary plays. One of the writers had so many elite plays that the term elite could be diluted a bit. Another writer was more selective which made elite have more meaning.
