Could be worse, you could ship out your best f-ing receiver to the defending Super Bowl champs in an effort to save some money like my Saints did. And, no, Alshon Jeffery is no Brandin Cooks.

Yea, Brandin to NE was just dumb… NE now looks like the same team they had when they went undefeated… Bet they don’t screw it up this time around. Someone better take Brady out early or it is going to be a LONG boring NFL season just waiting for them to return again. I give them credit, but it sure is boring watching the same team get it right year in and year out and no one can do the same thing.

Does making the cut 2/4 for Glover scare you guys? I tend to weigh recent performance more.

  • Vikingtiger

Being a big Clemson man I tend to follow our alumni on tour. Glover is a hot putter away from winning. He has always been a great ball striker but seemed to lose that the past couple of years. It’s always been his putter that has let him down throughout his career but his ball striking is back this year. His putting showed some signs of life last weekend. At 6700 he is a bargain to me.

Sure thing. Not sure it will help you win anything. Now if only Kyle Stanley and Ben Martin could putt I would have a Clemson stack every week. But alas they are both putrid on the greens.

Agreed on everything VikingTiger said. Guy won a US Open and has game. I’m a sucker for him every week.

I had some Sam Saunders shares. I just removed them. I can’t do it, it just doesn’t make sense.

Is everyone on Wes Bryan or what? Damn he’s too cheap.

I’m stumped on what to do with Bryan this week more than any other player in the field…his first top 10 I thought was fluky, then he followed it up with another and I still didn’t play him last week. Now he has three in a row at 7,100? Feel like his ownership will be up there and there are lots of good plays in his range but it’s hard to argue against three top 10’s in a row at that price…

  • Vikingtiger

I am a believer. He doesn’t jump off the page at any category but is a scrambling fool. Decent putter and I am gonna ride him while he is hot. Why not?

I wonder if some of these contests won’t fill because of “NCAA Tournament overlay”, if you know what I mean.

Definitely possible, especially on FanDuel. The other thing to consider is that since the FanDuel product is so new, people don’t know how best to attack them, and website/optimizers that assist people in putting together many multiple lineups quickly may not have projections or the software backend to be able to do this yet.

That being said, I don’t know who had access to playing the beta games on FanDuel, and what users might have independently put something together to assist them with max entering. Perhaps someone else has guidance on this.

So I just made my first lineup. And I took both Rory and Stenson …. Dumb, crazy or brilliant?

I’ve got some Glove this week. His finishes are trending upwards. Lines up with Birdies or Better 200+, SG Approach and SG T2G.

Depends on who you could fit around them. There are some solids picks at 7200 and under.

I still like Irish War Cry… I will throw out the bounce… Watch his win and think he is a special 3 year old. We all know that he could be either special or just had a brief couple of great races. Motion is a good trainer, I look for a nice comeback race out of him and the DERBY win at good odds…
Open field this year with so many injuries of the best horses… Would be nice to see Gunnevera win it….

way too early… I made a note to look at war cry. my standard handicapping on the derby is to put the horses in groups of the regions they do derby preps FL, NY, Cal, IL/ARK/OK. See where the fields overlap and watch all the races. You never know what your gonna get on race day. mud or fast. At this point 6 weeks to go you really have no idea who will be in the field.

so for FD. 1st place 20 point bonus is for every single round? or just for a guy you pick Sat-Sun? Or if you have him Thur-Fri only he still gets it? I’m confused

At first I thought it was for each round. Like, if you picked a guy for rounds 1 and 2, and he finished in the top 25 on that particular day, then you got bonus points. But after reading it, pretty sure that it means that no matter what round you pick a guy for, if at the end of the tournament, on Sunday, if your guy finishes in the top 25 somewhere, he gets the commensurate bonus points.

Here’s what I’m referring to from the FD explanation. Especially see where it says “Pick Contenders”. This indicates pick guys that have a chance to win, and therefore get the bonus points on Sunday.

    “Pick Contenders
Whether you start a player in Rounds 1-2 or Rounds 3-4, you get rewarded if he finishes in the tournament’s top 25. So keep the real-world prospects of all of your players in mind as you make your picks.”

might not have been a good week to start for FD. But I can easily believe that word “overlay”. From what I can remember being said about the product it is a dog with fleas. this week savy players should be able to take advantage. I prefer not even to look and be tempted. I will show my disdain for the product being offered by not playing. I think the litlle guys will too.
