So I went and added up some MKF scoring from last year’s API and the top 5 finishers for 2019 would’ve had 104 / 96 / 100 / 99 / 101 MKF pts for the full tourney……and the early lines they’ve set for full tourney scoring for the 5 guys are all 99.5 or higher which based on past scoring you would basically need to finish top 5 to have a shot at and even then if the conditions look windy or anything that might be a stretch even for the winner. The full tourney bets still aren’t great since they are the early crappy payout multipliers (should go up closer to the event), and you’ve got the chance of a missed cut meaning your bet is refunded, but it’s a good sign for our bankrolls that they set their lines so high compared to previous years scoring as it likely means we can target unders on round 1 as well if they are similarly high and the weather looks at all questionable. I will say the scoring here is pretty volatile from one round to the other as a lot of guys will mix in one or two low rounds with a mediocre couple, so the day to day betting may be pretty swingy but the full round 4 day I think they are going to overestimate the average scoring.

My early look at the weather showed potential for big wind in the PM wave on Thursday. May need to wait and see what the tee times are before jumping in on those numbers. But thanks for the insight.

Hopefully the multipliers will come up in the next day or so.

It looks to me like heavy winds all tournament. Definitely going with unders, but not too excited as I’m sure there will be a missed cut in there to void the thing. Their voided full tourney contests must be ridiculous. I’m hoping at some point they decide it’s not the way to go. All they had to do was eliminate the “less total strokes” contests. Keep more pars, more birdies and the fantasy point contests. I love the 5/5 full tournament rapid fires…like all 10 guys will all make the cut. Seriously…why bother?

I am always SE and low stakes GPP’s. Started out with 16 golfers I liked, have it down to 10. Now I need to dig deeper as need to cut 4 as thinking about doing the 5 on DK, the top end prize is to enticing not to.

Edit: I haven’t looked at pricing yet so maybe I will take the 6 of 10 that fit the 50k L/U

Kind of funny how Benny An was a joke last Thursday, even making fun of himself on Twitter a couple times and figuring he wasn’t going to make the cut, then barely makes the cut, finishes strong, and now he’s in tout articles about how his time is coming and this might be it. The darlings and dumps of golf DFS can flip in a hearbeat.

Can anyone give more clarity on the ‘Mike’ and ‘Whill’ columns in the gdoc this time? Who are those guys? Bet365 odds, I’m familiar with.

Actually, while we are talking about FN, do they maintain up-to-date stats on sg:putting based on greens (grass) types? Pgatour.com does not have this.

I’ve been digging up year-old (or older) data from other sites like Future of Fantasy but something more recent would be great.

Interesting thought to me is Patrick Rodgers keeps doing well, even though he’s played about a bazillion weeks in a row.

They do. I recommend it. It’s the only other site I subscribe to besides RG (for any sport).

Not my favorite golf course this week (played it and would never go back – highly overrated in my opinion with possibly the worst and most boring collection of par 3’s on tour) also not my favorite tourney for DFS as I hate these 120 player invitationals and it doesn’t help that there is at least a dozen players in the field who have made 0-1 cut this year.

I hope they grow some rough this year so there is some penalty for being wild as you can spray it off the tee a fair bit here (as long as you avoid the water mostly) and get away with it because most holes give you a place to safely miss it.

Lots of birdie holes with a couple par 5’s that’ll yield a ton of eagles…..hope it is windy as some forecasts are calling for to keep scores up.

    Bring on The Players…….

Historically, 16 is the only hole that will yield “a ton” of eagles because it’s reachable by everyone and long hitters will have a short iron in. The other three Par 5s are obviously birdie-fests, but eagles are pretty rare due to the length and layout (especially water up left side of 6). I like that it’s 16, as an eagle down the stretch on Sunday can swing things in a big way (in DFS or real life).

I’m actually really looking forward to this event!!

Ha. Actually one of my favorites because it’s difficult for the right reasons unlike last weekend’s trick-fest. Scoring is slightly above par most days thanks to some long par 4’s and wicked greens. The better players actually play well here – a good sign of a fair test that separates the best.

  • squidkill

feels like more stars and scrubs this week? higher number of guys making the cut? any validity?

  • BlueEdwards

I remember last year. Had a ton of fleetwood and was up big until Molinari started making every putt imaginable. Really quite maddening. Ending up breaking even or losing a bit.
