Well with Pat even if he is not playing he likes to show up for the free breakfast buffet.

The first couple of alternates are always at the course hanging around the driving range just in case there number is called. Most times it doesn’t happen but there is always a couple ready to go should the oppertunity arise.

Yea, Perez was actually in before Grace bumped him with the PRO win. So, he planned to be here all along, while knowing there was a chance he gets bumped out and/or squeaks back in.

Why am I not seeing any Oosthuisen news anywhere?

PGA Tour Comms Twitter posted it at 8:17am ET

Louis’ tee time was supposed to be 8:28am ET

Unfortunately Louis’ WD came post lock but I would still be against any form of swap and this is no different than a late scratch at lock in NBA/MLB or a coaching decision to bench someone where we have knowledge.

I remember when Rick G. interviewed Doc Redman he said how he has spent many events early in his career as an alternate where he would spend the day between the range & clubhouse and always had the odd feeling of everyone telling him good luck today not knowing he actually wasn’t playing. It is just part of the life for fringe pros who can’t afford to miss any opportunities to play so they will always be ready to go on a minutes notice.

Louis Oosthuizen is a WD from the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard.

Oosthuizen is replaced in the field by Pat Perez.

NBA/MLB do not lock everyone at the start of the first game on the slate. It locks a player only when their game starts.
I am not sure if PGA should do the same.

I know but it is also not totally uncommon for a NBA/MLB player to be scratched right at lock and you can get screwed there too.

Providing late swap in those sports and NFL does not give anyone a perceived knowledge advantage as they are team sports and they only play against one team and all in different locations.

I don’t think golf should or can do same in giving a staggered start.

Golf is all played on the same course so you have to lock everyone – what if a massive pop up storm (no lightning) came in at 9am and looked to last 90 minutes where players had rain and big wind to battle through. If the tourney didn’t lock at 7am, I’d swap all my 9:00-10:30 tee time guys out and play guys going out right after the storm on soft calm conditions. Especially in Showdown.

WDs suck but golf has to lock all at same time for the integrity of the whole field.

He needs to get his crap together.

Not as bad off as Nasty Yams, though. That guy is so unpredictable.

What I’m interested in this differences between similarly-priced players. For example, Corey Conners’ price went up and Adam Hadwin’s price went down. I was only putting Conners in one lineup because I liked Hadwin (and Emiliano Grillo) more.

And…Hadwin has 3 bogeys in his first four holes, including 2 waterballs.

I dialed him back to 3/20. (But he is still in 2 of my Coatrack lineups.) Here’s hoping Connors has a better start.

Got one back on the Par 5 after a pretty ballsy second shot that could easily have found water.

Sitting in 7x place in HM with Speith and Kokrak…the “x” is a reminder that by Friday when Matz is gone I will be gone from anywhere near the top spot.

  • RudyPujols

AssHatton is playing some pathetic golf. Most punchable face on Tour.

  • squidkill

The “x” should be a reminder to not even look at your place at 1020 am on Thursday , when half the field has yet to tee off- You golfers are a funny bunch
