The LPGA last played at Golden Ocala in 2015 and 2016 when the Coates Golf Championship was played.

The first year was beautiful weather all four days.

The second year was cold and wet all week.

Of the players who played both years, Lydia Ko was best finishing T2nd and T3rd.

I feel like Grillo will be super-chalk at his price ($7400)?

He’s one of the first I picked for budget in one of my cores. But there’s some nice alternatives there, too. Adam Hadwin, perhaps?

Not Si Woo Kim, tho. Talk about a horse on the wrong course!

In that range, I might sprinkle some Hadwin, Conners, Grace, and Bez, but Grillo seems to be the real budget value. I imagine he’s popping out for others, too. This post will probably come back to haunt me.

Is the Corey Conners pick based on game-fit stats? I see a golfer who played here twice, both in the last two years, and MCed each time.

Been doing a little research- Last year- Weather was a big factor- Probably plays more like -10 -12
The field is a little watered down – Just have a feeling that Vik breaks through this week.

Yes, Conners would be based on his game, although he only missed the cut by 1 stroke last year. I don’t weigh CH too heavily as a whole, but sometimes there are people who standout with a longer history of being consistently good/bad, and I’ll take that into consideration. I think what’s standing out for Conners is his T2G, App, OTT, DA, GIR. However, like I said, he would only be a sprinkle for me; nothing too crazy.

    OK that makes sense.

Plus I remember the convo last year about how some younger players like Conners seemed to have figured something out and were better than they used to be. So maybe 2 years ago shouldn’t be weighted much for him.

Maybe they can fix the leaderboard part of the site while they are at it.

Certainly possible. OTOH, Rory won here in 2018, looks to be happy to be back in Florida, and could definitely take it again. His 11,500 salary might make some want to fade him, but I won’t.

TBH there are so many people who look good for this event teeing it up this week, I think I can’t even run with just a main core and a secondary core.

One more thought for the crowd: You could play 4 Camerons if you wanted to. (I’m definitely not playing Champ, tho.)

We had some talk last week about the EURO players being a let down or at least not up to snuff vs. the Americans but if you ever wanted to go overweight on them then this is the week I think and I will.

Also saw an article saying the head of the Euro tour talking about moving some euro events to Florida

This really made me scratch my head for a minute, but I guess that’s not much different than the PGA having tournaments in Korea, although that’s PGA going to Asia and not Europe. But then again, the Euro plays tournaments in the Middle East also. I don’t really follow Euro much, so they could already be playing all over the world and I wouldn’t really know it.

Not too far off. Could maybe be $100 higher. I see some other guys around there I’d rather play, but just my opinion.

Just a heads up for those saving $20 Milly tickets for The Masters, it doesn’t look like DK is going to have a $20 Masters Milly contest as they have satellites this week for a $10 Milly and $100 Milly tickets both for the Masters (04-08) and the $20 tickets up for grabs this week have 03-11 on them in the Contest Details which is for next weeks The Players (though the tickets I’ve already won have a 09/02/21 expiry on them) so we probably can use them on a PGA, US Open, Open Championship or Fed Ex Cup Playoff Milly contest if you want to keep holding but just doesn’t look like The Masters will have its traditional $20 Master Milly contest.

Is it too much to ask for a little consistency? I’ve been hoarding $20 Milly tickets for Golf, that were advertised as satellites for golf, that are now N/A for the Masters.

Personally I think it makes less sense to co-sanction PGA events in Florida but might make more sense to co-sanction some of those island tournaments (PRO, Bermuda, Puntacana) as joint PGA-EURO. I mean, isn’t the WGC supposed to be the matchup of the elites, one of which is already in Florida? Cross-sponsoring PGA-ALT events suddenly would add tons of interest to those tournaments IMO.

In any case it seems like it’s a short-term thing because this is coming about because of COVID travel restrictions in Spain and Portugal. Remember Europe is still trying to manage some scary sounding COVID variants and the UK/SA and Europe are no longer on the same page on things, so there’s a big political thing going on there. I mean, if the Spanish tournaments are open, there is 100% way those are played over any EURO event in Florida. Sergio and Rahm play those Spanish events and care about them. They take priority.

Not 100% sure yet but I bet there is no way that there is 3 Masters Milly’s and they are running sats for a $10 Milly and a $100 Milly both for April 8 so doesn’t look good for the $20 tix we have

Ive got 36 golfers in my pre-LU player pool, I am looking at 8-10 possible cores. Some are stat based picks and some are hunch picks, some are old players with magnificent course history and some are newbies, with limited CH. I think I picked a bad week to settle on one LU for Beat the forum.

Hunches I like Molinari, Rose, Poulter. I gave them more favorable consideration in my analysis. Yet I question my judgement as I look to see who is more of a landmine. (these guys as well as others) Fitz, Hovland, Im, Mats should be good to go but I am balking.

Just gonna relax and let Snoop help me with this one, unless you all got something to throw at me(the forum).

If you go through the process of reaching out to support which can be a pain sometimes they will usually take care of your by splitting the $20 Milly Maker Tickets into two $10 ones so you can still use them for the Masters. I have never had trouble getting that done when the contest I wanted to use my ticket on didn’t match that week’s buy in for whatever reason as this happened a couple times with the NFL this past season as well where they randomly ran a $10 Milly Maker.

Maybe ask support if they can turn each $20 ticket into two $10s?

EDIT: Bigez beat me to it.

I don’t know as much as some of you guys who follow the tour year round. With that said I just finished running the numbers which have been profitable for me the past two weeks.

Lanto Griffin really checks out for me as does Kyle Stanley. Will Zalatoris is the CLEAR pivot to Franceso Molinari from what the data is telling me if I understand this course/field correctly. Rory is a CH beast but he looks kinda sketchy in the model that I eventually landed on.

Ownership looks fairly spread out this week so not as much of a concern.
