How the hell is Smylie Kaufman still allowed to play on the PGA Tour? I don’t recall him finishing better than last in every tournament he plays!

Yea thats why I bet on Tony Romo at +115 not to finish in dead last. I saw give an inch take a smylie on the list of entranta

Smylie +3 over the second to last, Romo at E. You should be alright!

Romo chips in for eagle haha

  • js5734

cant believe romo just made an eagle

  • RudyPujols

Romo, Seth Reeves, and Brian Harman bag eagles on three separate holes in a 90-second span. Sounds about right.

  • Steverino01

When I saw that the AM/PM golfers had a weather edge over the PM/AM guys, I faded Leishman. Thank You Weather Gods!

Played all AM/PM guys and all finished -3 or better. Hoping for a nice calm Fri. afternoon.

  • lfn1992

Romo eagles yet Thunderbear is in the clubhouse at +1

  • NoLimits0

This is so cruel. I have every single golfer at -2 or better except Adam Schenk who’s shanking every shot and putt. But I have 45% of him because I used him as the low price guy on like almost all my Brooks teams.

And I have 10% Leishman and NONE of those teams have Schenk so 55% of my lineups are dead if Schenk doesn’t turn it around. I might still get 45% 6/6 if all goes well but if Schenk turns it around I can get 90% which I’ve never gotten before (don’t even think I’ve ever gotten 60% 6/6).

Is CH3 really going to play an entire round in a birdiefest WITHOUT a F****** birdie?

    Hopefully ✌

  • NoLimits0

It was clearly way harder in the afternoon today. I knew the wind would play a factor since it’s set up like a British Open course but I wish I knew it was THIS big of a factor. I woulda just reduced Schenk to like 10-20%. I still have like 70/30 morning/afternoon but probably shoulda done 85/15 or something.

Even like the best wind players like RCB are really struggling out there in the afternoon. Stenson is perhaps the best with his British history and he’s slowed down quite a bit. RCB and his group were headed for huge rounds before the winds but now they are lucky to stay top 30 going into tomrorow after the last hour.

It’s not a birdie fest anymore. This course is playing hard now. Howells problem was he missed those easy birdies early on before the wind. Now he’s gotta struggle just to make the cut. He’s also playing in the tougher morning tomrorow.

Schenk is in really really bad shape. He pretty much has to birdie the next hole and maybe one more coming in.

  • NoLimits0

Wow RCB went from -5 to -1 just like that with the absolute brutal 18th coming up that’s playing into the wind in which people have been missing the green in the last hour.

Brutal. He’s very chalky too so I’m sure I’m not only one hit by this.

The group of Spieth/Hideki/Stenson is actually holding up so well. All of them probably could be -6 where Brooks is at if they played earlier.

  • Steverino01

Yea and tomorrow the wind is suppose to be strongest in the morning, which very seldom happens. That’s why I went all in on the AM/PM guys. Really the first time all season I picked golfers based on the weather. Now watch a rain delay happen tomorrow and somehow screw me up.

I wonder what the splits were. There’s gotta be a pretty significant difference between AM and PM today. Like you said tomrorow it’s flipped too. I’m ok overall since I went 70/30 but the 30% of afternoon golfers I choose consisted of both RCB and Schenk who are in danger.

I bet there’s like a 1 shot+ and probably more difference today between AM and PM and that’s saying a lot becsuse besides Brooks, the 2nd – 6th best golfers (Hideki Stenson Spieth and Reed) all played PM too. Without that featured PM group splits would be even larger.

Watch how quickly those back problems go away before the PGA Championship next week.

Or will he pull a Day and hobble around , grimmace and hunch over like a granny after every shot so the announcers can tout how amazing and tough he is for playing through such excruciating pain

  • starstx

WDs are gonna happen but the only thing I do not quite understand is why do players WD at the very last second without playing at all. I feel like these golfers would know a little earlier if they are not going to be able to go. Also, strange to have no news about a back injury or anything except a tiny brief mention that someone caught. Sorry I did not go back and look up the person but props to you for catching it and posting something. That was a deep dive for that little nugget.

  • starstx

Probably a dumb question … but why not allow swaps for the 1st round until a golfer tees off … or would that cause a huge issue if there was a significant weather advantage? Just curious

  • starstx

One more random question been on my mind … what do you guys think is the relative position you want to be in where you feel like you have a “realistic” chance to take down a tournament after the 2nd round. Same question for after 3rd round. I have felt that if I am in within 50 points of the leader I got a decent shot in a gpp. Key word is “realistic” chance … not a well if all 6 of my players shoot a record round I could still win that would be a miracle.

I have a $25 bet that Romo will beat Smylie. Looking good so far.

Smylie with 3 birdies on his second 9 and Romo just doubled again.

Kinda figured that was going to happen. It should be a battle for the ages regardless.
