I understand the difference totally but we live in a society where nobody likes to pay retail – everyone uses an online coupon code for 10-20 off or free shipping – hell I just cancelled my Sirius XM on my wife’s car as she is not using the vehicle much and 2 days later they called to try and get her back for like $4 a month; so while I had them on the phone I said I want the same offer for me instead of the $12 I’m paying (she said no as I’m still a subscriber) so I said “ok cancel mine too and I’ll talk to you in 2 days when you call me back with the same offer”. 😂 she patched me through to someone else and now I pay $4 a month for the next 6 months.

It never hurts to ask…..the extra $8 a month was something I can surely afford but it was the principle to me of them not valuing my 10+ years with them and taking me for granted as a customer.

Again the coupon code —-IS OFFERED

You probably would have sued ——because undoubtedly you are a member of that same society

Hmm…your ass seems rather chapped. I can only imagine why. Good day sir!!!

Why set minimum standards on awards if you are not going to adhere to them . Changing the rules for one and not the other—sets a very bad precedent and slippery slope

I think it is better to address the concept and not the person.

It certainly takes a special like person to even ask for special treatment

of all the things to complain about…..You side with the ownership of a gambling opereration about whether they should comp or not.

Dude, I thought I was a miserable fart….but I might need lessons from you.

Built a cheap core around Long/Grace/Pan/McCarthy we’ll see how it pans out…think Cantlay or Berger win, but hope Rickie can finally get a nice bounce back tourney…good luck to everybody!

I played this game for a few years with Sirius and finally decided that I had enough. Every year I had to re-subscribe and threaten to walk away only to get a “new, improved” offer for the next 6 months. These people need to wake the heck up. People won’t continue to accept being scammed as consumers. Eventually they just give up and move on. It’s not worth the hassle, especially when “customer service” is horrible. The same applies to cable or dish services but those services are much more difficult to live without.

    everybody gets a trophy society

This comment I do agree with and say the same thing quite often – at 52 years old, I shake my head at how we roll over for everything, what we now view as acceptable/unacceptable behaviour and at what some will tolerate.

You may say that this contradicts my actions above but just because someone asks for something, they don’t have to say yes – and also I think it is a bad corporate practice to offer incentives to people who quit your service. That type of action devalues their own product but if they want to do it, then why should I pay full price 🤷‍♂️

Lots of this is driven by the Karen’s/Kyle’s of the world who take The Public Court of Social Media and the fear of a negative review has made companies do many suspect things – they don’t want a social media shitstorm as the cost of recovery (if possible) from that far outweighs the cost appeasing the complaining customer.

Breaking the minimum standards or rules——-for one and NOT the other——has NOTHING to do with comps—SMH . Why do you think pro golfers are pizzed at Reed and the PGA——rules should be followed

    And here we go.

Hmmm…I just bought stock in Sirius XM hoping for a post-COVID rebound. Maybe I should re-evaluate.

Working from home isn’t going away post-Covid for many as is travelling/driving to work or in person meeting/sales-calls so I think they are going to struggle with customer retention and new customer acquisition. Their best hope is that the auto sales sector is strong and they can hold onto those customers but how many of them are “first time new customers” and not just rolling over service from old car to new car ?
I’m not a fan of their business model but I do use the product – love listening to golf talk, NFL talk and mostly commercial free music.

rewards are comps…..its the exact same thing.

Play for 4 hours get a free steak dinner…..well I only played for 3 hours and 50 minutes but I dont have t say a thing when the pit boss gives me the voucher.

play 130+ days at $1 a day and get 25000 crowns

where does this baffle and shake your head.

LMAO, dont worry JSW, nice post it activated us as we wait for the start. even if we cant agree, it really doesnt matter to any of us.

Good Thursday Morning and YAY GOLF!

Pebble Beach Pro No Am, that was funny.

Had to hold my nose when building entries this week. Took the usual approach, and built 19 entries. Been on a cooler the last few weeks, so need some 6/6 action this week. Oh, and the last 3 weeks I have entered one of my bottom 20% performers in the Happy Meal, just can never get that correct. Maybe this week.

Up top went with Streelman Chalk, along with Berger (bounce Back?), Cantplay and Si Wooooo
In the middle I like James Hahn to continue playing well, along with Norlander, Malnati & Noren
Down low, have a few sub 6500 fliers, but keyed on Bramlett, Chappell and Lashley

Forgot to play SD today, oh well saved monies I’m sure.

Good Luck Y’all, we will need it.

I love how we all digress on Thursday mornings when it’s a west coast event – if it was on the east coast and golf started at 7:30 ET nobody would have said a thing.

As we wait for the first tee time to fire balls into the air…

I was surprised at his high ownership. All 6 of my golfers are very low owned. More likely because I’ve made a shit lineup as opposed to being ahead of the curve.

Speaking of Special treatment- I was once offered 5,000 DK crowns if I would use DK somewhere on my twitter handle. I knew a guy who was down on his luck and was really in need of crowns and asked DK if they could transfer the crowns to his account. They actually did and that person was saved form further humiliation.

Hey BIF, nice rake on the #Beat the forum. Thanks for the reminder. You going down this week
    3-40 :)

Well, looks like Hubbard and Ghim still get that experience of playing with an “amateur”. Duval hitting it 230 off the tee and missing the fairway by a mile.

I enjoyed the surprise dialogue, too. My $0.02 is just that you can be an individual responsibility/rules matter/law and order type (I am) with parent/child, teacher/student, coach/player, law enforcement/citizen relationships without also being a corporate shill. The corporation/customer relationship is just different and discouraging negotiation for comps/discounts is just a bit over the top in my opinion.

Football is over, so Squid humor is back! Hallelujah, there are a few whiffs along the way, but nobody gets more gutbusters out of me on here than this guy.
