Using Bramlett in my single LU and still leaving $800 on the table.

I need someone to talk me off of putting Kevin Streelman in all 20.

Really bummed they are not allowing fans this year, went last year and it was a blast. On a good note, I am playing Omni La Costa Champions course on Friday and maybe again on Sunday. Hoping to break a hundo!

Played La Costa a million years ago – while in Carlsbad, go check out Park Hyatt Aviara Resort, Golf Club & Spa.

    Aviara is beautiful !

Yeah, I can’t play the Cameron name game this week. Triangle’s form at this event isn’t even good (unless you go back to 2014, when it was). I’d like to go back to 2014 and make some investment decisions, but I digress.

I feel like I have to a couple or 3 lineups with Jordan Spieth, even just as core swaps. (I’m making 20, it’s my new religion.)

Rob Bolton has Tringale as a sleeper

Cameron Tringale … The 33-year-old – by the way, how is he only 33 with 183 cuts made in 290 PGA TOUR starts as a professional and still winless? – continues to surge from the doldrums of the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons when he missed 31 of 54 cuts. He’s 7-for-9 this season with a solo third (RSM) among four top 20s, including in each of the last two weeks. He’s back to doing what he’s always done best. Currently 21st in GIR, 42nd in Strokes Gained: Putting and 35th in conversion percentage inside 10 feet. He’s also cashed in six of his last seven trips to Pebble Beach dating back to 2012.

Fair, but these are his last 4 trips:

    Cameron Tringale 64 53 47 MC

Plus DNPs in 2016 and 2015. So he has form in his favor, but I can’t rely on 2014 and 2013 in light of what’s happened since.

Frankly, I’d rather go back to well with Michael Thompson for 1,300 less. (Although I got burned with that play last week.)

He was not jumping out at me but I saw him mentioned by Rob Bolton at basically the same time you posted earlier so shared what I saw.

Ted Potter playing well. Ted Potter on course that sets up perfectly for left handers. Ted Potter on a course he looked into the world’s #1 eye and knocked him out. Ted Potter against a weak field.

Welcome to a Ted Potter week.

Should we be targeting pebble for showdown – according to awesemo pebble was the 8th hardest course compared to spyglass being the 5th – I think the difference could be minimal but every edge counts

I don’t have the data in front of me but I think there have been a couple years where Pebble played harder than Spyglass because Spyglass is a lot more protected from the wind as it’s inland a little and actually pretty treed. Rule of thumb when there was 3 courses, the worse the weather, the more it would affect Pebble then MPCC then Spyglass in that order.

The difference between 5th to 8th hardest is probably pretty small plus the Pebble numbers likely include 2 rounds played over 4 days where the Spyglass numbers are just for one round over 3 days. Not sure if that accounts for any difference in averages but it is not as clean as all 4 rounds played at one course.

Anyone thinking about Scott Piercy, despite being an asshat as a person, he does have some good CH and is cheap. Coming off two missed cuts followed by two pre-tourney WDs.

On the positive side, he could have WD to focus on an upcoming course he’s done well at orrrr, he’s WD because of a nagging injury

  • js5734

Do you have any suggestions based on current weather forecast if it makes sense to target one or the other course for showdown or to just simply ignore course and pick who you think will play the best

If wind is a factor, you want to play guys on Spyglass.

I think if the weather is perfect, then you target Pebble. If the weather is bad, then you don’t play showdown.

so is wind really supposed to reach 30mph?

He is over achieving in putting right now, any challenging greens this week? He will revert if there are. I have played Tringale very consistently for the last two years, and his putting is the key stat. Haven’t looked at what grass the greens are yet, but we should check his history on said grass.

  • js5734

Looks like little to no wind issues on Thursday and Friday – I guess I will play a mix of guys at both courses

I gotcha covered. Tringale is almost even on POA greens vs. other greens. Gains .172 on POA (84 rounds) vs. .134 on Others (370 rounds).

Yes, Friday for sure. But, then I can at least base Friday on what happens Thursday.

Zalatoris has 4 top 20’s in his last 5 tourneys and this is probably the weakest field of any. He’s even money to top 20 this week. Me likey.

For sure, and thanks for posting this. I’m just trying to get my isht together before Thursday, unlike last week.

I’ve played 3 Camerons before and had it work out. (There’s no rhyme or reason…wait there is rhyme, sort of.)

This week I may go with some Scotts.
