The only websites you guys should be going to are
    rotogrinders.com
    pgatour.com
    windy.com
    datagolf.com/live-predictive-model

Now that I think about it, you can’t even trust those either

Speaking of windy.com, Friday still looks kinda gross, so I think I’d want to play Pebble Thursday, Spyglass Friday. Anybody see anything different?

i just listened to a pod that touted Stewart Cink I’m not sure this is the week to dive back into golf 🙄

Bruce Springsteen and Jeep made a very nice commercial for the Super Bowl about meeting in the middle ground. I approve of that as an inaugural member of the common sense party.

I am with you. I am with Bruce and am currently looking for a jeep to tow behind my RV. Wife and I are hitting the road here soon, when I get the Starlink to play DFS of course. The more I go out in the world and meet people away from the masses, everyone seems friendly and happy. The unhappy seem to be the ones who sit inside and watch this horrible political show we call government. Then they show up in public to attempt to force their views and opinions on you and everyone else. Then the “news” jumps in. Blah

Old man has been playing some good golf recently, but at $7,200 on DK he will be a pass.

Just watched the RickRunGood Top 5 Fades video for this week.

I think I’m rostering every one them and heavily on some. This might be a disastrous week….

I think you’ll be fine. He’s okay for data and strategy ideas, but I wouldn’t ever trust his opinions on actual golfers. (And I have no idea who he mentioned this week as I don’t tune-in)

Is one course supposed to be easier than the other?

Lol RickRunGood??? sounds like the the 4th member of Run DMC that never made it on tour

I mentioned this yesterday and the change from Thursday to Friday looks even more drastic this morning. I use windfinder.

As an aside to this for MKF guys…the current full tourney 5/5 rapid fire (more birdies) has all Thursday Pebble guys versus all Friday Pebble guys. As it looks right now, I would not want any of my guys on Pebble on Friday.

If there’s any course or field to take a 6200 Nick Watney this could be the one…

Then again I took Keegan last week, not sure I can stomach all the missed putts…

Who is the lowest you guys are going? I might end up on Akshay for 6500.. Cali kid, think he can score on the par 5s to carry him to the weekend.

I almost miss the NBA thread from march (something ) that ran for months. people just jumped on and complained about covid/politics/that ass show we call government.

but this is the Golf thread, soon our guiding light of content is going to drop the hammer and it will be for the best.

    winner: Mickelson
    runner up: Day
    fade: everyone who dropped out
    sleepers: not this event

Yea, I was just making sure I was still reading things correctly and not over-reacting. I hate playing weather angles, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this one disappoints as well. I think my SE-type contests for full tourney will be like 5 starting PB, 1 starting SH.

Finished my player performance figures and this might be the worst tournament I’ve ever created the figures for.

Usually, the top 15 or so get at least a 97 or better and the top 30 get a 95 or better.

This week there are 4 players with a 97 or better and only 9 with a 95 or better.

I’m going to find out if these numbers are as good as they have been over the last few months as the player pool is going to be very tight this week.

  • Gtzerphy

I think I’m sitting this one out.

  • klf_is_gonna_rock_ya

Any place to find out how players do in the wind? I want to play Varner but I seem to remember that he stinks in the wind. Any help? Thanks.

I think this is one tournament where you need to pay attention much more than most others. You hit Pebble on a good day and it plays much easier than Spyglass. You hit it on a bad day and it’s a disaster.

I only use Rick for the OAD league right now. I did a free month trial on his site last year and didn’t think his tools met my needs. I use a different paid site, which I didn’t list there for RG-rules reasons, that allows me to enter my own decisions/weights (that I get beforehand with my own data and models on my computer) and just spits out the mathematical results without any influence from someone else’s opinions. So, it really just depends on what someone is looking for. Rick’s site is more of like a place to just observe and explore stats for the week. He has regression models and spits out the results for you, but I want to be able to tweak and tune my own models with the raw data and really know what’s going on behind the curtains. I’ve had more luck with clustering/classification models (grouping golfers into similar styles) lately than with the regression ones anyhow.

That’s what I thought last year. Then he dropped 5 shots on his last 5 holes on the easy MP course to miss on the number and tarnish a handful of would-be 6/6, and I (happily) haven’t touched him since. You know, once I sift through my own bias from that situation, I think I’m actually inadvertently bolstering the case to go back to him this year.
