This message will serve as official communication of the weekly MUSH. I have played four golfers in One and Done so far. Each was 25-1 or better to win. Each missed the cut.

This week’s mush is…. Will Zalatoris. It was a close race between him and Molinari, but Will just needs to be brought down a peg. Play him at your own peril.

More seriously, I am playing a bunch of guys this week that I can’t remember playing in recent memory if ever. Basically am concentrating the 9k section with a couple of punts. I think it will be a much different tournament with no amateurs and the different course rota, so am not leaning super heavily on CH.

MKF now lets you manually cancel your entries if they included DJ.

Any place to find out how players do in the wind? I want to play Varner but I seem to remember that he stinks in the wind. Any help? Thanks.

Varner does stink in the wind.

Lol RickRunGood??? sounds like the the 4th member of Run DMC that never made it on tour

Rumor has it that RickRunGood is what DJ Jazzy Jay said to Russell Simmons when he introduced Rick Rubin to Russell back in the day…..and the rest is musical history.

As an aside to this for MKF guys…the current full tourney 5/5 rapid fire (more birdies) has all Thursday Pebble guys versus all Friday Pebble guys. As it looks right now, I would not want any of my guys on Pebble on Friday.

This is a great find and definitely worth a shot. Thanks!
Edit: I actually like all 5 of those rapid fire bets even with the weather excluded.

Been away for a while on DK sportsbook but coming back to DFS slowly as the season ramps up. I think the play is Thursday PB/Friday SH as well so will be targeting that group in my single bullet. Sunday should be fun for the MKF guys and not so fun for the gophers.

i just listened to a pod that touted Stewart Cink I’m not sure this is the week to dive back into golf 🙄

This is definitely a week where optimal probably leaves 3-4K on the table so it is a bit more of a crap shoot than normal – not the strongest field, maybe some weather issues and then also a format change (due to Covid) that only uses 2 golf courses instead of 3 so past results/ tournament history can’t be used without some tweaking.

    Tread lightly

That’s what I thought last year. Then he dropped 5 shots on his last 5 holes on the easy MP course to miss on the number and tarnish a handful of would-be 6/6, and I (happily) haven’t touched him since. You know, once I sift through my own bias from that situation, I think I’m actually inadvertently bolstering the case to go back to him this year.

Hey, with the MP course out of the rotation it might bode well for him then!

I do too actually. Hopefully we can avoid a torpedo and the dreaded 4/5. I’m hoping they keep that one the same when they bump up the payouts (but I doubt it).

    couldnt disagree more…..

but hey, thats just my take. I got golfers to cover my salary requirements and I got no clue on scrubs. So my take is….do the 4 person core and use a plethera of low salaries in a Gpp and hope I strike gold. not a week to spend up in contests, perhaps a few Single entries or 3 entry max’s.

I am confused. Why is this a week to go “light”? Because there are weather issues and not a particularly strong field?

If you think you have a better chance of beating the optimizers during a week where there are no weather issues and a strong field (more data available on golfers), I believe yer trippin

FWIW I’m going with my normal golf budget this week. Helped by the fact there is no EURO event

My opinion is that I don’t really like to gamble for gambling sake. I like to at least feel like I know what I’m doing. This tournament will be extremely unpredictable. In a more “normal” tournament, I feel like I can gain an edge on those who may also think they know what they’re doing. Also, I don’t really know what the mix of DFS-ers is who do one the following:

Listen/read pods/touts and compile those suggestions into their own picks
    Use an optimizer
Build some sort of database/model/paper math on their own
Take complete shots in the wind (throw darts, random picks, gambling, etc.)

But, whatever the mix is, I’m only in one of those choices above, and it certainly isn’t taking complete shots in the wind. And don’t get me wrong, I’m still playing this week and maybe I’ll get lucky, but certainly holding some back.

I’m guessing RCB is probably coming in at half of Varners ownership?

I don’t know.. if the weather gets dicey I trust the Spaniard who is in decent enough form that has played all over the world.

Anyone else like RCB this week?

    Yes, for the same reasons.

I think my SE-type contests for full tourney will be like 5 starting PB, 1 starting SH.

Is the 5/1 approach just to differentiate from full weather stacks? Are you more inclined to have your one Spyglass Thursday guy be a stud or at least above average golfer than a scrub?

I said that to Squid who was thinking about dipping his toes in for the first time in months (since NFL is over) and as I know him, he typically has a cash game mentality which is even tougher this week with the weak field and all the extra inherent variance this week.

Yes, my 1 SH is an above average golfer who I hope can still make the cut no matter what. I actually was struggling to find a full PB stack of golfers that I had already decided on, and didn’t leave like $1500 on the table. Maybe that’s a bad move; I don’t know.

    Streelman would fit this profile.

I am with you. I am with Bruce and am currently looking for a jeep to tow behind my RV. Wife and I are hitting the road here soon, when I get the Starlink to play DFS of course. The more I go out in the world and meet people away from the masses, everyone seems friendly and happy. The unhappy seem to be the ones who sit inside and watch this horrible political show we call government. Then they show up in public to attempt to force their views and opinions on you and everyone else. Then the “news” jumps in. Blah

agreed. The whole political scene is a shit show, no matter which side you land on. Personally, I really don’t trust any politician. I just wish that whenever one of them lies, their nose would grow like Pinnochio.
