I know you’re just being a smart ass but only 1 player has won here on their first try since 1993
It wasn’t DJ, Spieth, Phil or Day either.

    edited to add the year

Actually it should say since 1950 only one first timer has won and that was in 1993, Brett Ogle.

No clue who Will Zalatoris is but he might lose to Romo as his amateur partner

Am I allowed to join both the small fry and happy meal?

not sure if it is the Rogue Dead Guy Ale or I got hit in the head but despite horrible course history and not the best form I kind of want to sprinkle in some Johnson Wagner this week. Complete gut feeling that I would not recommend to anyone but I can see a top 20 and he will be 0% owned. But like I heard on a podcast today, the downside to 20 entry max is 5% owned on someone is only 1 lineup so even if you nail your dart throw your other 5 pieces still need to hit.

also I forgot again to join the happy meal, is it too late if so I’ll join the small fry again aka slackers invitational.

The small fry is my way to keep interest for people so we can grow the contest.
last week a total of 66 dfs players entered in both.
DK only allows contest size of 50 or next level up is 75
we need to recruit at least 9-15 people to start making the 75 player contest ( I hope to get it to 100 )

yea I appreciate it, I normally don’t start filling out my lineups until Wednesday so I often forget to lock my spot in for the Happy Meal so by the time i start working on lineups and enter into contest it is already full (a testament to the forum)

What are people’s thoughts on Stricker, he isn’t someone I normally play but he is looking good for me this week as a nice pivot at that low 7k/high 6K range at 7100.

so as I’m going through my research I may have found part of the DK algorithm or at least something that is popping for me. That is Poa vs expected strokes gained on the greens. Henley, Martin, Knox, Stefani, and Hearn are all guys at different levels that most expected compared to those around them to be priced higher but all are some of the worst putters on POA greens. It could be nothing but if you compare it to others like Stallings, Points, Fathauer, and Bae who are better on POA greens that are priced a little higher than their recent performance may deserve.

With having 12 guaranteed Par 5’s I’m hoping many people overlook Par 5 BOB this week. Without looking it up I wonder how many people could guess who leads the PGA Tour so far this season in Par 5 BOB % (he also happens to have the most rounds as well inside the top 10). Hint, he is cheap this week.

not really as I’m not looking for a win at that price, if he can score on the par 5’s and throw in some birdies on the par 4’s along with some expected blow up holes and net a top 20 than I think he can easily outscore some of the chalk down in the range.

I stuck him in two lineups this week. Guess we will see. He seems to have the personality to handle the BS associated with these celeb events.

He is also a way more established player than this time last year. Seems to finally be comfortable putting.

I will have 0% RCB in any lineup this week, stupid pricing means I can’t even play him in the pig. I don’t think you need to go stars and scrubs in cash, start something like Casey, Hadley, Perez and I think the overall lineup will be a lot safer (no guarantees it will be better but safer)

as of right now the cash lineup I have built I have DJ/Casey up top. I am normally not a big fan of hedging but I will have DJ and Cook in my cash lineup and 0% in GPP’s this week. I think they both make the cut but neither finish top 10 (Cook outside T15) and with their ownership I think that is worth fading in GPP’s.

alright one more thing before I go to bed, please someone talk me off of Derek Fathauer, given the price and ownership level he is setting up to be my favorite play at nothing ownership. If he can get some putts to drop (he generally putts better on POA) the way he has been striking it lately he can totally go top 15 if not even top 10 or better. SG APP and SG ATG are there, never missed the cut in 4 trips here. I’m sitting at 20% and want more, only reason I’m so low is he is probably going to be 1% so how high do you really need to go but in a 20 max field even 20% is only 4 L/U.

Morning Gents, well it is Wednesday and decision day, looking for all your pontificating and prognosticating to steer me away from imminent DFS disaster. Last week was by far my worst performance of the season. Have to buckle down this week, but the event format does not help, had considered skipping this one, but hey, I’m a Golf degenerate.

Will check back in later with some Chalk / Flyer likes for the weekend.

Have 2 H2H available in the league.

    YAY GOLF!

LOL, he is showing up on my first take, played well at SpyGlass, but poo poo at PB

The pool is at 24. That’s a number I’m happy with. Reduced from my usual > 30 pool. Added a few to get to 24 and one was because of Coop’s blog (Hahn) and the other I’m still 50/50 on (Grace) because he seems a bit pricey, especially for a first timer.

Searching for a Specialist brought my Kuchar exposure down moving Perez in front of him in that range. And is anybody else chasing Sabbatini with me?
