I don’t know if there has been a post about this already but I absolutely hate this new feature. I know everyone is using video now but I find them incredibly annoying and I’m less likely to watch them when I see them constantly popping up and I have to keep closing the player.

I have been a premium member for a good few years now and by and large find RG to be a great site. But I would honestly consider going somewhere else for most of my DFS content if you guys are going to start use pop up, auto play videos.

Please RG we know you have a lot of video content, I watch plenty of them myself but I hate this new feature. You don’t need to shove video content in our face, you have a great big ‘video’ tab right at the top of the page.

It doesn’t add anything to my experience as a paid up member of this site and actively irritates me whenever they pop up especially when you are going back and forth between a page and everytime you go back the same video pops up. Example, if I’m on the grind down and going from game to game, every time I go back to the first game the same video pops up again. Honestly, who actually enjoys that?

I dislike both autoplay video and gifs in the forums. I know of no one in the history of the internet who likes autoplay video don’t understand why it even exists

It must be like someone mentioned, that the sites artificially inflate the ‘view’ count of the videos this way.

They know the videos would get far less views if they weren’t autoplay.

CBS and ESPN have autoplay videos on many pages too.

Agree, I do not like the auto play videos at all, and they are especially annoying on the starting line-ups page. After I close it they are still there, taking up space where a team lineup should be.

Just bumping this back to the first page to see if RG are gonna do anything. Pretty clear zero people like autoplay, interesting to see if RG will make a change

Once any of it starts it’s not going to stop. These sites truly believe that people want a video blasting as soon as they get onto the site. It’s always fun when you just want to read a story late at night, your sound is up and a blaring video wakes up the entire house.

I know it’s well mentioned, but I’ll cast my vote for absolutely hating the pop up videos as well. I also hate the gifs in the forums. Apparently I am a hate filled individual…lol

They’re easy to block on a desktop but are there any good solutions for mobile browsers? That’s where the data really matters. I’ve searched and haven’t been able to find a good way to block them on the Android version of Chrome. Chrome is supposed to block auto-play videos but the setting does not work on the RG nuisance videos.

A “hide GIFs” option would be nice for browsing the forums.
