I should be able to pitch you on the NHL based on the entertainment value of the game and exceptional way that DFS aligns with hockey, making it an awesome sport to play, but that’s been tried and failed.

So the new NHL rallying cry is avoid the pros and come play hockey! Seriously. I’m on the 1st page of the RG rankings and my boss isn’t exactly nervous about me quitting my day job. I played hockey my whole life but didn’t start DFS until last season. I learned from Pepsi, Boggs and co to start and have been able to improve enough to have my own research foundation. You have some of the best players in the game right here on RG giving you advice, for the great price of FREE.

So quit dicking around with 1ucor and Condia scooping up your NBA games and get on the ice. A blue collar sport for blue collar DFS player.

Haha, I did my first money game last night for hockey and did great. (Quick’s shutout helped.) You’ve sold me!

i try to grind out hockey the best I can. One problem that really makes me mad at hockey is paying up for the big players and they give you negative points. In all the other sports, if you pay up for big names, they will at least give you their floor in points. So frustrating to pay $9000 for Ovechekin and he drops you a -0.2 and Crosby gives you a -0.8 in the same night. I think this is what turns a lot of people away from playing DFS hockey. When is the last time you paid up for Manning, Luck, or Rodgers and they gave you negative points? I just think the big names are way over priced for what their floor could be in any given night.

That’s not entirely true. Baseball is like that too. I can’t tell you how many times Mike Trout went 0-4 with 2 ks when I rostered him last season. I think NHL is very comparable to MLB. But you are correct about the NFL and NBA studs. Those guys are usually locks.

    Id rather play college sports.

Started playing DFS this year during MLB and now I’m completely addicted to hockey. My first couple of nights were pretty rough but I have developed a simple system that seems to be working for cash games.

I’m having a blast with DFS hockey.

I have been playing football and hockey. I like hockey better. Love all the help on here. Had my best night last night. I think I am done getting my butt beat at football.

Last night was a lot of fun. I am in Nashville’s TV market so I get their broadcasts. Have become a Preds fan and the game against CHI last night was very entertaining.

Welcome aboard! Been a Preds fan since they’ve been here (live in Nashville), and it looks like they’re going to be much better this year. You need to try to make it to a game some time. We might not be a “traditional” hockey market, but the fans are passionate and we have a good time.

  • Scottthepimp

I’m a wild fan in LA. Going to the kings game Sunday. Nashville is looking good.

  • El_Lupo81

Southern boy here. Love me some baseball. Love me some football. Like very mucha da basketball. Have never paid any sort of attention to Hockey.

I’ve been playing DFS since the start of this season and I absolutely love it. And totally agree, you can win $ simply by listening to Pepsi and Co. on here … for FREE!!!

Turning into a hockey fan slowly but surely.

Actually, having a bit of background knowledge in hockey gives are a far greater edge than in any other sport. In NBA, or even NFL to a lesser extent, any Joe Schmo with Excel can put together a decent lineup purely based on stats. It’s next to impossible to build an NHL lineup without a good amount of qualitative reasoning.

its also slow paced and low scoring

and since its not popular the prize pools are low

so if you like a game with low action, low prizepools and questionable edges, play NHL

  • peiz11

Admittedly, an addicted fan of the sport but I think the slow paced scoring is what makes me love it so much. I have a really hard time following DFS NBA because people are getting points left and right. In hockey, it’s very simple to understand how you are doing just by looking at the scores. Because of this DFS hockey does the best job of all sports of helping you learn the sport while paying attention since you can follow it outside of the live scoring on the site. And that’s where the edge is. You learn the names and who is doing well quickly for the sport not just an excel table.

(I’m assuming the slow paced comment is about scoring because if you’re talking about the sport then I don’t know what to say)

  • fantasybullybusters

football is the same.. cant tell ya how many times i gotta break out the wd 4o cuz my score is stuck

Yet….You play NHL so you should know the prize pools have been pretty decent this year .At this point I’m convinced you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about…
