I had created a FanDuel account like 4 years ago when I was maybe 13 or 14. The account eventually got banned because they found out I was underage and I couldn’t provide any ID. A few months ago when I turned 18 I made a new FanDuel account as I hadn’t played in years and honestly completely forgot about the account I had made when I was underage. Just a few days ago, on Saturday, I deposited for the first time and played some beginner contests as well as regular contests (because the beginner contests are very small, wanted to be in regular contests too), and I lost some $. I also lost on Sunday playing NFL, but then yesterday I made all of it back but $10 thru MLB. Today when I am going to join contests (no beginner contests or intermediate contests just normal contests) I put in all my entry fees and begin researching for the day. 10 mins later I come back and I’m logged out. I log back in and it says my account is permanently suspended. When I go to live chat they tell me that I am banned because I created multiple accounts even though the account was created years ago whilst I was underage and they told me that they will only be willing to pay me out $70 because the other $200 I won was from beginner and intermediate contests. I found this extremely scummy/scam-like by Fanduel because they allowed me to put in 3 separate deposits and to play in these contests in which I didn’t even win so FanDuel got their rake, I lost money, and got suspended. I could understand why they would only want me to get paid $70 because I guess technically I am not a beginner, but this thought never crossed my mind because I probably played in $20 worth of contests when I was underage before I got banned and because it was so so long ago. That being said, they are telling me that I am permanently suspended and there is nothing I can do to fix the issue at hand. I honestly did forget I had another account because I had it for such a short period of time and it was 4 years ago. I don’t understand why they can’t just reinstate my account and I show they all my proper identification and my social and everything. I know I am technically in the wrong 1) because I shouldn’t have made an account underage and 2) after I created an account when I turned 18 that was technically my second account. However, the account I created when I was underage is extremely old, I barely played on it at all, and I don’t find it fair FanDuel would let me deposit if they were just going to choose to ban me. I created my account when I turned 18 3 months ago and didn’t deposit until Saturday, FanDuel had plenty of time to figure out there was an account with the same name, address and phone number as the one I created. I know I am somewhat in the wrong but I feel as though FanDuel isn’t being completely fair, especially because they won’t just let me play on the site even if they only give me $70 of my $270 balance. Please let me know what you guys think. I am sorry for writing such a long post but responses and opinions on my situation will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

In this topic a user breaks FD terms of service not once but twice and wonders why he isn’t getting his monies. You hate to see it.

    thanks

Breaking sites terms and conditions usually results in lifetime bans so you don’t really have any options for Fanduel. Fanduel likely let you deposit multiple times as they didn’t catch the multiple accounts right away and the second they did they banned your account. The comment saying Fanduel “had plenty of time” is a tough one to be on your side for as they have hundreds of thousands of accounts so these things usually do fall through the cracks right away but eventually get flagged and caught days or weeks later.

Your best bet would be open a Draftkings or Fantasy Draft account and play there.

If you really want to play Fanduel your only option would be to work with them and see if there is anything that you could do to let them give you another chance. They won’t give you your $200 back but maybe they will let you play again under your original account that you opened when you were 13. With the proper ID showing your 18 now that I would think could be a feasible option if the site allows it.

  • rars19

I appreciate it. Thanks. And I felt fanduel had plenty of time because I made the account 3 months ago and I deposited saturday and was banned today. I just would have thought the system would have flagged it in a more timely manner but I understand that they have many players. Thank you for your response and not acting like a scumbag or treating me as one. Appreciate it.

i agree with OP. In my eyes the first account he created wasn’t legitimate so he should be able to create a new one and be considered a beginner.

Anyway OP, Fanduel sucks compared to other sites so just move along to other sites and play there.

  • Jvanspro

    Just play on FantasyDraft.

  • bure10

You knowingly made an account underage, and then made a second account against rules of dup accounts. Only got yourself to blame move on. It is shitty but if FD is pretty set on shutting you out then find another site. Not trying to be a dick but it seems straightforward. Tons of sites now.

  • theIrrigator

Just play on a different site. Just make sure you dont have any existing accounts before you create a new one

  • theIrrigator

Or is that bad advice because you are already banned from the other sites? Looking at your RG profile you created a thread July 2017 asking about how the RG rankings work with FantasyDraft. From the information you provided above I’ve concluded you are 18 now and were 16 when you created that thread. Correct?

  • rars19

no im not banned from other sites

  • Zieg30

The OP did technically violate FD’s terms of service, and has no legitimate reason to get that extra money he won, but FD is not coming out of this with clean hands.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think they are going to distribute that $200 to the other contest entrants in the beginner contests that the OP played, which they should be doing.

I think it’s a bit ridiculous that so many people in this thread are blaming OP and saying he scammed FD by creating an account at age 13. Going to be a tough world if everyone has to be held accountable for everything they did wrong as a teenager. If FD had good customer service, they would simply have a conversation OP and work out a solution. But they’re a big company that works on volume, not good service, so they wont.

I’d fundamentally disagree with that last part, or else I’d be doing something else with my afternoon than reading this thread. We do it take it seriously and we do listen, but we can’t always be responsive or resolve things in a way that everyone might want us to. I hope you understand the difference between that and not caring.

Anyway, this is the first I’ve heard of this situation, so I’ll look into it and report back if there’s anything worth sharing.

      RG Overall Ranking

In my opinion (not that it matters, but we’re on a public forum), a permanent ban seems a little exaggerated.

If a teen got caught and ejected from a bar or a casino, it would make no sense to me that he’d be banned for life from that bar or casino. Or imagine being banned from all adult sites you have visited as a teen.

Now for the beginner contests part, I don’t know how much you can play before not being a beginner anymore, but playing a few times as a teen 4 years ago doesn’t make him an experienced player. I have played hundred thousands on DK and I would still probably be able to play beginner contests on FD since I haven’t played much there. I wouldn’t violate FD’s terms and conditions, and the OP technically did, but sometimes you have to take the context to better evaluate a situation.

That said, dealing with an entity can be frustrating. I had a situation with DK that I vented about on twitter and RG (I had contacted DK support before), but they never settled even though I was right (I really was). The amount wasn’t big enough for me to push further and I decided to just let it go, but it was a frustrating experience for sure. DK support has been really good with me for everything else, but I was mad pissed on that day.

    Good luck!

Though it doesn’t address your issue, FD has one of the worst DFS products around and you should consider yourself lucky you won’t waste time there.
Go to literally any other legit site and enjoy.

I may be stupid, but I can’t understand what the kid was supposed to do. He understands why he was kicked off when he was underage. So, what’s the proper protocol for someone to start playing, once they turn 18, if they had an account previously that exists but can’t be used? It might be spelled out in the TOS, but banning for life is unreasonable. He seems to have done exactly what he was supposed to do, which is wait until he turned 18, and started up a new account.

    YEP, but you’re not stupid.

Hopefully the OP or the FD rep guru comes back with some good news for him.

    HEY, tho

You could take your business over to YAHOO, which promised to never have super huge MAX ENTRY CONTESTS, but went all out this week to have a MAX ENTRY of 150 for its NFL BIG GPP…….

Sadly, not only did YAHOO promise their users they never would do that, YAHOO actually took out the MAX 150 tag on the GPP…can’t make this stuff up. It’s not rocket science…let the damn kid, who is legal now, play.

Well, then there’s some work for me and my team to do there if that’s the case. Everyone is free to mail me at any time they want: nik.bonaddio@fanduel.com; can’t guarantee I can resolve the issue to your satisfaction, but I’ll definitely read it all and see what I can do to help.

For starters, you and your team could do a better job of following up on open questions. The topic of the change to the FD live page has been pushed down to Page 2 now, but on August 19th you said, “Hey guys, just wanted to give a heads up that we’re following the feedback and take it seriously. More to come soon. – NB”
    https://rotogrinders.com/threads/fanduels-live-page-needs-to-change-back-it-is-awful-rhoughts-3099762?page=1

It would be nice if you could resolve this question – either way – before the start of NBA season. Thanks!

OP also needs to realize much has changed in 4 years of DFS. Just play on another site and read their terms of service.

Beginner = less than 50 contests. It doesn’t take very long.
