I couldn’t agree more and am furious with DK over this. I created a separate thread and pasted my email exchange with DK. I want to encourage anyone that even entered one Q to reach out to DK directly and voice their displeasure! Not sure how much it is going to help, though maybe if there are enough complaints….

Here was my email to them:

I just heard the news that Draftkings will not be running a last qualifier for the battle of NY and decided to turn this into some sort of Video Contest where people have to beg for tickets. Has Draftkings lost there minds???? I feel bad for those who spent thousands of dollars and were cheated out of one last chance at hope to play in a contest and earn there spot in a legit contest to be crowned a seat to the Battle of NY. I hope draftkings thinks about the damage part this has caused… I do not have video equipment so I will not be participating in this mockery. Good luck in the future doing such controversy stunts that leave a stale taste in the mouths of those who worship Draftkings,

I will be sure to voice this to them in an email right now and in person at the event. Remember I was vocal that this was created last minute and they didn’t put much thought into it. I REALLY feel bad for the great group of guys we have here that don’t have the opportunity to get the seat.

I thank you for doing that. Us guys here put a lot of heart and soul into Draftkings and to see this type of promotion was a huge slap in our faces. If I win something I have to earn it, I have to invest my own money my own time my own efforts. I have no video making equipment and I am sure others who value Daily Fantasy Sports as well have no Video making tools also.

If they wanted to do something like this and again they did this without much thought which is becoming a bad habit for DK. They should have entered those peoples names who have participated in any Battle for NY Qualifying event into a drawing and picked the winning ticket on RicsTixs205. That way at least it would have been fair to those who spent money trying to win a seat.

That way people who can not make a video or do not have time to make a video still could have hung there heads on having some sort of hope.

Nope have not heard a word from them.

I sent the ViP department an email voicing my displeasure with the situation. They responded by telling me that all finalists should expect an email from the special promotions team with “full final details” and that this email should hit on the questions I have.

Yeah, I have sent 2 emails but haven’t received anything back yet. It does have that 8th belt on the promo page linking to the MMA Hour contest. Really hope they do not get to compete for the 30k as well.

Pathetic. Absolutely disgraceful if they allow this person in the $30k. I think we all agree teaming with the MMA hour is a great thing; but leave it at that. Don’t mix a live final with a free promotion (or at least state it from the beginning). The lack of communication in this whole thing has been poor as well. Has anyone reached our to @FatalError aka Jonathan Aguiar? He is always so responsive to me when I reached out on twitter. One time an UFC DK contest slate started after the prelims started and I alerted him right away and he passed the word on.

I remember that card! Texas I believe. They cancelled all the contests and offered a free contest to anyone that played. It is a good example re: my assertion that MMA is the “red-headed stepchild” of DFS. Can you ever imagine something like that happening in any of the other sports?

Christie is emailing all qualifiers “shortly” with full finale details and will have our questions answered there apparently.

No email yet. Maybe it will be a day late like the other email.

Still have not received an email but I’m not seeing the link to the 8th contest at the bottom of the battle for Gotham page like it had been. Is it showing for anyone else? Has anybody got an email update? Finally got around to booking my flight last night, can’t wait to see you folks there this weekend
