welcome to the second edition of #beat the forum. This is a friendly H2H competition that requires a volunteer to accept the challenge of playing against all forum opponents. The amount of money that a volunteer wagers is entirely dependant on the volunteer. A minimum $1 H2H is a norm for many volunteer’s and many forum participants.
example- some volunteer’s only post $1 H2H’s and capped the number of contests at 20. (I would prefer in this instance no capping contests, but each person has unforeseen issues. so no rules against)

    some volunteers spread out H2H’s over several contest $ value. I myself had a $20, 2 $10, and multiple $ 2, $3 and $5 for a grand total of $108 on 36 contests.

We had several weeks of 37 contests and a couple of only 20.

So we need volunteers and the volunteer should pick the contest they would like to play. If not, I will assign people to the next available week.

next post will list 33 events. If you wish to do this twice, Pick 2. First come first serve. Second choice is on hold until an idea of how many different volunteers we have.

OK here is a list of events taken and will be updated regularly.

Has anyone fully analyzed this exercise? I imagine it’s mostly just trading rake

Would love to know if one side or the other won at which rates if it’s been recorded

I know Tim keeps great records. Most weeks “the challengers” won (greater than rake clip), some weeks “the single forum member won”, and there might have been a week or 2 when DK one. What happened was somehow most of the people that took on the challenge ended up with one of their worst lineups and the forum challengers dominated except for a few occasions.

But like I said, Tim will have this answer! Or at least the results records.

I have all the summary records of this contest. Not a full analysis.
13 weeks played last year started in June. the volunteer wins and losses are as follows.
    W – L
    1 – 31
    5 – 32
    3 – 18
    20 – 9
    16 – 16
    11 – 14
    5 – 21
    15 – 21
    5 – 15
    2 – 35
    18 – 19
    29 – 9
    24 – 2

    154 – 242 (total)

a couple weeks the volunteer pooped the bed with thier LU and a couple weeks they crushed. Some big winners during the season got crushed the week they volunteered. I for one find it fun and the anxiety that goes into Wed nights decisions super exciting. The last thing you want to do is shit the bed with your peers. (my week went 15-21.. so not too bad but definitly a loser because I lost the bigger value H2H’s)

I thought I had the Sony this year – am I in the right thread?

Happy to take anything, just want to make sure I show up now that I am back.
