      RG Overall Ranking

This is insane. Says the guy has an account since Tuesday. Seven wins. CONGRATS!!!!

  • petesdynasty

I think it’s just hilarious that now he/she won 100k, he or she may think everyone on the site is a marshmallow compared to him/her haha.

The best part was his name was winning247

    Actually it is wining247

I’m trying to figure out if he misspelled winning, really likes wine, or maybe he knew people would whine about him here.

Either way, solid choice for a name. He’s off to a very good start.

Does anyone know if he played more than one lineup? Or did he just throw a single bullet in?

I’m not sure about in the Mega Slam itself, but I know his lineup that won the Q was different than the one that won the Slam.

  • detroittigers44

I looked for that lineup from the qualifier and did not see it in the Slam.

It’s nice to see some support for a new user! The constant downing of new user/beginner luck is quite off-putting to new users. Even the backhanded compliment of, “I love when new users win, because I know they’ll lose it right back” is off-putting as well. If you’re truly better than them, sack up and beat them.
How many of those/these comments were rolling around when escot took down the FD NFL Live Final? It turns out he actually knows what he’s doing.

  • Mindofigor

I’ll tell you this- my first time playing nfl, I entered into the $5 tourney with 69,000 other people and got 15th place. It could happen.

The biggest cash I ever had was on Christmas when I placed 11th in the Slam, and that was only a couple of weeks after I started playing.

There’s something to be said about not knowing enough for bias to cloud your mind.

Here comes “good for the industry” talk.

It’s better than the “rigged industry” aka I suck at putting lineups together talk.

Most of the regular professional poker players were not thrilled when Chris Moneymaker won the WSOP Main Event in 2003. However, that was the spark for the poker boom. The Main event entries increased by 1737 players from 2003 (839) to 2004 (2,576).

I wonder what would have happened if Sammy Farha, a professional high stakes poker player, had pulled off the win in that 2003 WSOP tournament.

I know my example is on a much larger scale, but the two can be correlated for comparative purposes. It is good when new players succeed. The industry growing is much more positive than the alternative.

I see an add for FD or DK every 30 seconds. It shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone when a new member wins a big tournament.

I was a Brad Beal twisted ankle away from winning it finishing 12th. Humble brag ended. I was also 3 1st quarter Beasley fouls from finishing outside the top 100.

I’ve been saying that GPPs are 23% luck. Last night was one of those cases. Wining247 was fortunate Beal sprained an ankle. I was fortunate that Beasley became a foul house. This isn’t chess folks or the same people win every damn time. It also isn’t Candy Land hoping you just get that double green. As with most games, there has to be a luck element involved. Backgammon. DFS is backgammon.

    wow..smart player..he had 10 LU’s in the mega and 3 in the WFBBC..i had 34 and 2..great interview tho

What’s funny about this post is how historical it is. This was pretty much every night back in the day when FD had a chat. Most of the major tourney winners (especially baseball, I hate NBA so never paid much attention) were pretty low win total folks. It always brought out the funny in chat.

    Ryazan, I know. Wining247, I do not.

Taking bets on Ryazan finishing higher than wining247. Fantasy DFS has begun!

Keep in mind, last time around, the Megaslam had plenty of ‘well known’ players fighting at the top.

This just happened to be a night where the guys most talked about around the industry didn’t show up like we would have liked.

Move on. I think it’s pretty cool that some guy signs up, takes a chance and kills it.

Speaking as someone, who like some of you, came from the online poker games back in the day I think exactly what you want is some unknown depositing $5 and taking down 5 or 6 figures. As that happens these prize pools will grow exponetially.
