Should be a lot more fun this week with so few golfers. More strategy/game theory and a lot less luck that’s for sure.

This is a week where it’s very easy COMPARATIVELY to hit the nut lineup.

I’m a lot better at showdown mode than 15 game slates so we’re getting a little more in my wheelhouse.

The key to this week is going to be to try to envision the leaderboard and then imagine which names you see on it. If it’s not somoene you think will be on it.. don’t pick him

Interesting, PGA Tour uses Cloudinary for their course overhead hole icon things on the course pages.
If you take the image urls from PGA Tour.com on their course page, e.g.:
    URL_WHATEVER://pga-tour-res.cloudinary.com/image/upload/c_pad,f_auto,h_35,q_auto,w_150/holes_2018_r_028_773_overhead_full_4.png
and cut out the bit that is the on the fly transformation of the asset so you get something like this:
    URL_WHATEVER://pga-tour-res.cloudinary.com/image/upload/holes_2018_r_028_773_overhead_full_4.png

Then you can get the high res versions, if that is something you wanted.

I put “URL_WHATEVER” there so that the forum doesn’t try to see those and make them links without showing the text.

I make a vision board of who I want to win and then let the universe come to me, rather than the (clearly wrong) other way around.

Sometimes I put pictures of cats and stuff on the vision board too b/c those little guys crack me up. “Hang in there” indeed little buddy.

Then, which guy gets a hole in one… There in lies your winner…

Beat the forum matches have been posted in the league. Good luck all – should take my money as I have been ice cold in PGA since the PGA Championship

i think ive seen a show about this on animal planet

And the leopard lures him in with a statement about how he sucks at DFS golf… the sheep clicks on the $5 head to head.., and the leopard quickly pounces on him

I recall in the past few years the guys who just had babies (firsts or any?) did well in the next tournament – so Pat Perez?

    LMAO, really?

The Pick 5 is comparatively easier than picking a Pick 6, too

My strategy is stare at the vision board until the desired outcome eventually happens… This is convenient because my vision board is filled with Ian Poulter Gifs and frankly I’m too lazy to take it down

I really am enjoying coming up with these EURO lineups. When else can you leave 2k on the table and have credible teams?

  • Dunzor

Ok got my teams built..decided to go with 3 lineups but didn’t enter anything higher than the Club Twirl since I’m focused on NFL. Have a core of 3 players on all 3 lineups and then one guy on 2 lineups and then 7 guys as 1 offs, so a total player pool of 11 for my three lineups

I have seen someone win a GPP with a G who wasn’t even playing. He took the G that was priced the lowest so he could mix stacks that no one else could. Maybe he didn’t know anything about hockey, but if he did, that’s a ballsy move!

I did something like that in MLB a couple years ago on a 2 or 3 game late slate, had a great lineup that i loved and was short $200-500 no matter which way I jiggled my stacks. I ended up playing a 2B for $2K that wasn’t playing. The guy ended up coming in to pinch run and stole 2nd and then stole 3rd !! I got 10 points from a stone minimum 0.1% owned guy and he ended up being the 2nd highest scoring 2B on the slate. Dumb luck that night.

I could not disagree more with everything you said – no skill in not having a cut – the 6 guys who cumulatively bomb in the long putts and get the best breaks and lucky bounces over 4 days is your nut lineup.

I posted a H2H in the forum league.

Has anyone found an easy way to get the media guide stats into a spreadsheet?

I don’t think there is an export function, but since the data is laid out in pretty neatly organized tables you should be able to simply select, copy and paste the data in to excel for each stat you want. If you wanted the entire database that is more difficult since as far as I know you would have to do it stat by stat

ALERTFINALLY A PROFIT IN DFG LAST WEEK!!! I cashed $8.89 in the $5 SE, but also donated to the Happy Meal. NET PROFIT = $2.89 … Ha-ha… MME was a fun experiment, but I just enjoy skin in the game as opposed to depositing every other week.

Anyway, just wanted to stop in and say hey. No way Bryson can go back-to-back-to-back, right? First build has he and Deki, but the player pool is still effed up.

    That’s 48%!

Looks like DK’s field is still not updated? Showing 77 players as of now…

It is updated, they added in the guys who qualified with their finish in Boston, but they didn’t remove the ones they had put in earlier. They just marked them with the red O

Ok so importing their spreadsheet into my model and the red o’s don’t show, so maybe helpful for the forum if we confirm those who are not playing this week that are in the field according to DK still?

I have the following that are NOT playing … can you confirm Dunzor?

    Walker
    Streelman
    Watney
    Moore
    Cink
    Whee Kim

EDIT: And Berger with the WD

So a total of 69 players currently in the field?

Sounds like an easy PIG lineup…

😂 jk of course I assume (hope) lineups with those guys wouldn’t count!

Thanks. I am only interested in a few stats. I am able to do a web query, just like PGA website stats, but sometimes it gets a weird “not authorized” message so the query fails. I think it may be because its https, just from doing minimal research.

If I had to guess, I think it is because when you first go there, it has you submit a form that is something along the lines of “yeah, I agree to this” and then they have a form that has some legalese in there.

So if you automate it and that form has not submitted, then the server gives that response.

There is a Chrome plugin that may be useful that looks at tables on whatever page you have loaded and copies it so that you can easily dump to Excel. (I used to use it, but have since uninstalled it as I never use it anymore, so I cannot tell you the name as my brain is mush)

That plugin may be useful for your needs so that you can do the form submission as a human, and then quickly get the data you need. (there are easy ways to get around it programmatically, but if you are using Google Sheets or Excel and its “pull from external source” or something, that won’t cut it)

And we thought legacy picks were bad for our Ryder CUP

I mean I get the EURO guys but Sergio right now is very questionable. They also better hope Stenson and Casey heal up real quick!
