Can’t find a ton of good course info but from what I have, it looks like it’s probably gonna be a battle of the long irons this week

I think you’re grasping at straws if you’re trying to draw any comparison to a US Amateur from 5 years ago. As it always is with these no cut events it’s about form. Who’s playing the best coming in.

Absolutely…. but i dont think I am trying to draw comparisons to players. I want to know how the course plays, what kind of stats I want to use in my model. Finding info now isnt about players.

For sure, I am in no way saying to play those guys (although none are awful plays) bc they know the course better, it’s just interesting that a total of maybe 20 golfers in the field have actually played here before this week.

Played there a few years after Furyk won. 18 holes the afternoon we arrived, and 27 the next day. Stayedi in a room on the course. It had rained over nite, and we had to walk using caddies. Never been so tired in my life. Slept in cab all way back to airport. Remember one par 3 over 230 yards, had to use driver. Old fashion course and clubhouse but tough.Should be a firm test this week.

Thx titanhawks, I also appreciated your help in last weeks Happy Meal. You were 100% positive it was going to fill and you were actively recruiting. Seeing your comment above and hoping they both run is something I want. (well not actually I want the 150 to run).

I believe that active recruiting works and getting the BIF bump helps, but does the forum want 30 posts (or 100) about lets fill the happy meal? I dont really have any answers but thought as we wind down the season and When NFL starts, people want to use their $1 elsewhere, or at least research time elsewhere.

Also we have had a number of new entries into the league. Its only $1 …can we sustain 200 entries a week? I kind of given up on getting there and wondering if I couldnt enter a contest next season and nobody wants to track results would the contest even survive.

You energized me last week and the positive comment above. thanks

2018: Matthew Wolff -6 over Collin Morikawa -5, Viktor Hovland T6 (-1). 2017: Matthew Wolff & Collin Morikawa both finished T13 (+1). 2016: Cameron Champ winner at -5. Note: these scores are for three rounds of play as this was a collegiate event where they only played three rounds

Too bad DK doesn’t offer the PGA Tour Champions because I would’ve taken my man Phil.

Not much chatter on the board. Do you think people are playing it close to the vest or are kinda stumped on what basis of stats to use?

I will go first – 1) Par 70 course, I am looking for the better golfers on par 70’s
I think it plays closer to par. lots of hazzards on this course and some guarantee a dbl.
    2) so I gathered data(my results database) from the ten toughest events played so far this year.
Then I added in all the same info for 2019 season.

I really want to look at expected ownership…I am trying to cut and slash my player pool. way to many LU’s possible.

Interesting. I’m thinking that because the course has few dog legs and lots of easy, straight approaches into oval shaped greens.. it isn’t as hard for the players today compared to 20 years ago. Split the bunkers and you’re fine, or wedge out from them and can still par.

I don’t see dangerous hazards unless you’re unable to carry tee shots past the bunkers that sit shy of 300 yards. I’m guessing a winner around -10 or 11. Am I way off here?

Does anyone know what happened to Scheffler’s caddie? Was it an acl, achilles? Who will caddie for him?

I can see someone going -10 or -13 but as an outlayer to the rest of the field. I think the average score will be above par.

I usually just load up a sheet with course history and recent form, vlookup in the DK salaries, and add the Vegas from some place (typically Boyle Sports).

So we have no course history, most here are in good form, there are only 71 of them. I guess I’m saying I have no clue.

I’ll use TPC Harding as ‘course history.’ (Saw it suggested at another site.)

Where is the Mayo tournament posted? Maybe it’s already full? Either way where do you find it for the future?
