Charley’s ball striking stats are as good as Keegs

Keegs is a little better in SG APP but both are top 10 so pretty elite over approx 200 pros

Charley’s SG Total is 17th to Keegs 34th so both had apparent value for their price

Probably the right play was “both”. Another guy I really like is Noren, who is playing like hot fire right now

  • Baysman

    Wow. Scheffler. Woof.

  • Pilobious

They’re murdering this course. The field is -54 as of 2:10 EST and the worst score is +1.

Seems like the Rahm fade was a poor decision

Never understood the sentiment from some to fade Rahm. His play as of right now reminds me of prime Tiger with how in the zone he is.

If i was playing cash this week Rahm would be 100% my first click.

For tournaments though ill take a 6% owned Spieth vs chalk Rahm any day and take my chances. Sure Rahm probably has more win equity, but in a small field no cut event ill take the lower owned player and hope things break my way

The forum had a discussion about that last week or the previous one. It’s not just Rahm, but who you can pair him with. Do you prefer $11.7K Rahm and a $6K guy or a $8.8K and a $8.9K? Your average before Rahm is $8.33K and after Rahm is $7.66K. Will he do enough to compensate that? He wasn’t in the $15 contest winning lineup last week, nor the second place. 4 had him in the top 10, but it also means 6 didn’t, and that’s with him finishing 3rd, which is pretty great.

Don’t get me wrong, he’s great and he crushes most stats, but he only has one win this season (almost two, but we’ll never know). Prime Tiger was winning much more frequently!

I’m not bashing at all, but just explaining why fading can make sense.

Yeah its all about overall roster construction. If you liked Gooch and Wise and Homa, sure. If you didn’t you went more balanced.

I agree, this reminds me of the idea that some think a low salary player only needs to “pay off”. Any gpp win needs all 6 to have top 10 points and not just “pay off” salary.

My take was of course due to salary. He is a must win in this field at that salary. IMHO
I didnt like his finish last week. I am a bit nervous about him, he was in my player pool until I entered LU’s.
I took him 100% in Tiers, I thought he was the best golfer in T1. This gave me the reason to fade him in classic.
so its a hedge of sorts. I liked the ownership stuff after lock and believe I did the right thing.

I’ve tracked optimum lineups for the last 20 weeks of the season and the highest priced player is rarely ever in the optimum lineup. They pretty much have to be 1st or 2nd in fantasy points or have the top fantasy point earners be priced in the low 7000’s or 6000’s

Isn’t the fact that this a no-cut event a caveat?

Every week some under 7,000 players do great, but it’s not so easy to pick the right ones. Since everyone makes the cut, I felt like salary was no object to making my lineups.

Should be. The lower half of the field is way better than a normal tour event.

I have several Rahm lineups and the “bum” in them is Lucas Glover or Hoffman.

Cut or no-cut, the highest price guy still has to be in the top 2 point earners. The only difference no-cut makes, is every player plays for 4 rounds. It has no impact on who’s on the optimal lineup at the end of the tournament. You can look at the WGC events results for comparison.

  • carolinacrusher

With that said, I only played 3 lineups and Rahm is on one. So, I’m not in the fade crowd, even though I do believe that over the course of the season auto fading the highest priced player is the play.

Guess I was one of the few people that thought Finau (8.76% $15K Flop Shot) would carry serious momentum with him after he won the Northern Trust. I get fading last week’s winner normally, but not in the playoffs, where a hot streak can win you the FedEx Cup.

So far so good. Tony looks really sharp again.

  • cplatt87

    Burns streak into Solo 1st!

  • darickc

I only have Rahm in 1/3 lineups but I did tweak in Burns in 2/3

  • Baysman

Scheffler better hit the driving range after today’s round. He’s tee shots are brutal today

  • hbomb57

You gotta believe the PGA is not ecstatic over this birdie fest called a championship. Tomorrow’s setup should be tougher if that’s possible.
