I think the fact that those are the two best players on teams that will be playing in a game that is actually on TV is what led players to pick them. Tennessee and Georgia Tech are much more recognizable team names than most of the other teams playing tonight. Anybody who remotely watches the slightest amount of college basketball could pick these guys.

Thanks for the reply. I don’t agree with rostering players simply because they’re on TV, but it’s somewhat akin to those who stack Thursday Night Football games on a full slate. Some just need action.

Moore was my last cut, but Mitchell is so volatile. Good guy to play in a GPP, but he had some massive duds last season. Definitely didn’t expect his ownership to be that high considering some of the other stellar forward options at slightly higher prices.

Definitely taking it easy early in the year. Things are volatile right now.

Let’s all vote to create an “Everybody, but Sox22” GPP.

The Baylor Bums: Prince, Medford, and Wainright.

A combined 4 for 24 from the field with 13 turnovers. A total disgrace.

Yet again, it seems the masses migrated to the same players. Charles Mitchell, Armani Moore…

Did someone (Varn, perhaps?) recommend these guys? I’m hard-pressed to believe half the field simply “found” those guys on their own on a 10-game slate with tons of big names…

As someone else mentioned, Mitchell put up 21 and 11 in only 21 minutes in his first game. Last night’s game was expected to be close and high scoring, so he seemed locked into 25+ minutes if he stayed out of foul trouble (reason he was inconsistent last year). Tennessee also has ZERO size. Their tallest starter is 6’7”. At $6800, Mitchell was underpriced and in a good matchup and seemed like a lock for a double double.

Armani Moore was also underpriced at only 6400. Guy is a jack of all trades. He struggled to score in his first game with only 12 points, but he added 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 blocks, and a steal. Last year he averaged 10, 7, and 2 with a combined 2.6 blocks/steals per game on a team that lost Josh Richardson. Seemed hard not to use him in what was expected to be a fast paced game.

That being said, I believe Varncass did mention both of them in his DK Incentives Column (I do not have FD incentives). That may have led them to be a little bit higher owned than they would of been otherwise. Not sure how many people actually have DK Incentives.

Last night was just a night I thought it was too easy to use Bryson at 3k, Trier at 4k, Dorsey at 5900, Mitchell at 6800, A.Moore at 6400. Now you still had $23.9k to use on 3 more players. You could use 2 of Simmons, Wallace, Ferrell, Levert, Ellenson. Unfortunately I had more of Ellenson than the others. Was able to fit him with Levert and Blackmon on my cash teams, but Simmons, Ferrell, and Wallace ended up being the high scorers of the group. Simmons needs to be over 10k ASAP.

Also, wish I played more entries on the FD 2 game slate. Didn’t think I did that well with weak games from Gathers, Prince, and Reese, but I guess the first two were owned by everyone. Was everyone on Lester Medford I guess and he bombed?
