I know Dk and FD have dropped NCAA games, where is everyone playing CBB this season? Looked into Fanpicks but the site looks cheap and their game slate is pathetic with over 40 teams to chose from, most of which aren’t in the power 5 conferences.

    Great to hear

Hey guys I have a question I would like to bounce off of you guys. We currently have the ability to offer salary caps of 50/60 and 75k for all of our contests and I am wondering if the higher caps would be interesting to any of you. I understand a lot of you guys are seasoned and feel it may take some of the skill out. But am just wondering if this type of game play would be interesting for any of you. As you also can see our slates have been reduced and our salaries have tightened up. Our new platform will allow us significantly more flexibility as far as slates go so we will continue to hone them. Looking forward to hearing back and if you have anything else you would like to see let me know.

Scott I have noticed a steady improvement on salary’s and am really happy you guys are offering College sports. I would shoot for the 50-60 range. 75K would be really high and force you to raise all the prices substantially more.

Off topic, but have you thought about offering a $10-$25 (50-50) for 4-10 players and making it guaranteed? My experience is that hardly any 50-50’s are filling. I understand making it guaranteed comes with some risk but if you start it out smaller at 4-6 players it should fill no problem. Just a thought but I am really happy with your guys product and your willingness to ask for feed back.

  • ScottatFanpicks

I will offer one up tomorrow for let’s say $10.00 6 person and Ill guarantee and will see how it goes.

  • ScottatFanpicks

    Its up Cheese

  • Kingcheese

I noticed that Scott. Thanks alot!

  • dailydimes

Like the guaranteed 50/50 ideas. Scott, why did you guys tighten up the pricing? At a $5,555/player salary, many of the salaries around that average our guys that are below average in terms of fantasy output. And with not enough options in the $4,000’s, your left with building a lineup of below to average players. The pricing the past few weeks have been great.

Noticed a EVE slate today for 3 games. What’s the thinking behind that?

  • ScottatFanpicks

Hey Dimes not sure what happened or why. I have checked with my dev team and they are looking into and we will be dialing it back. As far as the Eve slate goes we are somewhat limited because they are created automatically with a preset time. So whatever games fall between 5PM and 8PM will be in the eve slate regardless of the amount of games. I obviously don’t like this as I would prefer to have more flexibility and we will with launch of our new software.

  • dailydimes

Ah, that makes sense, thanks for the clarification on the times.

Do you, or anyone on here, now how to make lineup changes when you have 1 lineup in multiple contests? When I edit a lineup and hit submit, it has an option saying you can edit existing contests, but I don’t have any check boxes to click on those contests, just the boxes to join new contests with that lineup. Right now I manually go back into every contest and edit/import those new lineups in. I know there are some on here that play in multiple contests (I’m looking at you Cheese) so I’m looking for something I might be missing.

  • Kingcheese

Dimes, i have the same problem. Are we missing something scott?

  • ScottatFanpicks

No you guys are not missing anything the export feature is weak at best but we will have it rectified with release of new platform.

agree I tried to build a lineup the other day and the pricing was sort of crazy.

  • ScottatFanpicks

Pricing should be back to a not so crazy range let me know what you boys think.

  • ScottatFanpicks

Howdy boys just checking in and to see if anyone has noticed the changes we made to the slates,. Have fine tuned them a little to try and make as user friendly as possible so let me know.

    Hi Eforsty,
I used to play FB CBB and was devastated when they stopped offering it. I am writing to because I remember how good of a player you are and I saw a few months back you were on Fan Picks and I don’t see you on it anymore. I have looked at Fan Picks and I do not see a great variety or great prizes for that matter. Then I see you had problem withdrawing. I can’t get into Draft Worlds lobby to see if that site is worth it.
Which of these sites would you recommend?
Thanks for your time, I value your opinion.

    hoosir1223,
I was wondering what happened to Eforsty as well. I would like to add that I have had several large withdrawals and would recommend Fanpicks. Draftworld is fun but smaller. I play on both and Fanpicks is the best offering available. They have been making positive changes all season and I am hoping they continue to make larger tournaments. Bottom line give them a shot.

  • hoosir1223

Hey King, thanks for the input. Good luck

  • dailydimes

What’s up with the pricing again? Was great for awhile, the past 2 weeks the pricing dropped and we’re putting up 250+ points which is fun but not really competitive. Pricing today is very tight again, what was wrong with the pricing that ran through most of December and January? Why the recent changes?

  • ScottatFanpicks

Should be rectified let me know if its not.

  • dailydimes

Hey Scott- still doesn’t seem rectified to me. I feel pricing should be based somewhat off the average salary per player. With a majority of the good players above $6,500, that means to select 2 players at $6,500, I have to find 2 players at $4,500, and with the new pricing that just isn’t possible. The pricing that ran in December and most of January was well balanced and consistent

It’s the same for everybody so it’s all good, just more stressful than enjoyable to build a lineup.

  • ScottatFanpicks

Hey Dimes we are working on a it with hopes to have reasonable pricing as a constant.

  • ScottatFanpicks

Dimes have a look at tomorrow’s contests and let me know what you think. You can always call me direct need be as I am not always monitoring this site.

Took a look at tomorrows slate and that pricing seems more in line with what you guys had most of the season. Most of the fun in CBB is building the lineup so it’s nice having a good amount of options at each dollar level. Thanks

  • winsome

I recently started checking the site out in hopes that there would be some decent March Madness action and have to say the site is disappointing. CBB was always the least popular offering but it was at least larger than the 5 – 10 players at the site. After monitoring the site for a few weeks and seeing the higher than standard rake, illogical price changes, multi entry 10 man contests and Scott’s comments/reactions here all I can say is that it’s apparent you guys are simply dying a slow death. The price changes are comical. It’s as blatantly obvious today as it was yesterday that ownership #‘s for 6-7 guys will be at near 80-100% which serves the purpose of raising scores but makes it a 2 on 2 game and that’s an awful user experience. Why were your changes so specific to certain players/teams? (Collins, Colson, Swanigan, all of ND, Wake, etc…)

Here’s how your site works now (for the most part): enter contest, pay 15% rake (the extra $2 – $4 per contest is worth never gaining and/or losing players?), sort by PPG, scroll down to the outliers, select, start game, notice less than 10-20% variance in lineups, walk away from the site…..

The blueprint has been laid out by the myriad of other industry entrants (most notably DK). New sites have to offer big GPP’s in order to gain customers/traction. You’re gonna lose some money, but if you want anything other than a slow bleed out (nobody is buying the site) it’s the #1 cost of doing business. It’s a decent small site that can stay afloat and I personally think you’re not that far off but fix the contests limits, figure out your pricing model and understand that you’re gonna have to lose some $$ before people start talking about you. Good luck
