Any matchups stand out to anyone in initial research? I can’t resist looking ahead. Fournette obviously has the mother of all matchups, wonder what his price/ownership percentage will be…..

  • Mattg45

Skyler howard, wendell smallwood, and Shelton gibson. West virgina play arizona state who has the worst pass defense in the country, and probably the worst defense to get a bowl game

The Alamo Bowl, with Oregon playing TCU in a dome, has a chance to be a shootout of historic dimension. It would not be a shock if the total exceeded 100.

  • dpadilla

Fournette should be about $15000, 100%

DK has the slate up for Saturday’s games. Can’t believe Mangum is so cheap. Very loose pricing— I think we’ll see a high scoring week.

I haven’t broken it all down yet, so it could wind up that Magnum is worth a play at that price, but I don’t see how it can be considered “soft”.

He’s not a dual-threat and at $5,800 I’m hoping to get to 24 pts with the chance at more. He’s went above that twice this year with a high of 27.3. Not to mention, awful scoring days vs. other Top 5 conference schools and Utah gave up just 21 a game going through the Pac-12.

The price seems about right to me.

21st ranked passing attack up against the 91st ranked passing defense (and I really doubt a great night running the football against Utah). Mangum is a 3,000 yard passer and I think he goes off— either way, having him as the 9th highest-priced QB on this slate, I think is where his value is. Dude will end up being 4th or 5th best, I believe. His team is expected 3+ TDs and I’d bet he’s involved in every single one of them, because I don’t see Utah ceding a rushing TD to this run-game.

I feel like Arbuckle is the real value play. Even against San Jose’s tough pass D, it’s hard to look past a kid that’s thrown it on everyone all season (300+ pass yards in all but 1 game). All the WR’s are cheap, too.

Love Arbuckle as well— I think the matchup of SJSU’s pass D v. GSU’s aerial attack is a bit of an unknown. The Spartans had a hard time slowing down Mangum (who I think is likely the best QB they’ve faced) and they’ve actually only won 4 games against FBS competition. My only concern is that GSU may decide to run the ball, considering the rankings of the pass D. Because if that RBBC they have finds success, they may not have much incentive for passing. It would also help rest their D and keep Ervin off the field.

Mangum is useful if you need to free up money for other higher guys you wanna roster. Like someone said, he has a much lower ceiling than the others guys on the slate. I think there are no slam dunk plays, but like 5 guys who are all safe to get 20-30.
The defenses Sat aren’t all that bad. Then there’s the problem where you have like AZ’s bad run D, and the dilemma of having to pick the right UNM guy, plus what if they’re playing from behind. I don’t think there are these glaring must-plays anywhere.
My one LU as it is has Vick, if he plays I think he will do well. Reid and Smith are effected if Vick is a go. He likes Smith more than Reid.
Not sure how to rank the QB’s yet. Potter/Knighten/Driskel/ rotation maybe throw an Arbuckle or two. And I am trying to find a reason to play Travis Wilson. Can’t convince myself yet.

I haven’t had much time to research this week so I’ll lean heavily on the teams projected to score the most points and call it a day since as you say, they D’s are all pretty good. Any tips on finding a solid WR3? I have consistently swung and missed all year with that last player always coming up just short for me. I’ve either been too contrarian (bordering on stupid) or it has been the one week that player happens to lay a dud, no matter who it is.

It’s such a tough slate. I didn’t even mention Solomon. Who’s to say he won’t go off.. I just can’t play him based on their coach and the QB situation all year was total chaos. I think if I knew Dawkins was starting, and AS was ruled out, I would put him in LU’s based on matchup and price.
Even the WR’s there aren’t any must plays. On FD Tres Houston is one of the highest priced guys, meanwhile he’s 3900 on DK. He’s no guarantee but at 3900 he’s gonna be high %.
There are a ton of good plays on DK under 5000. Even from 3100-3900. So it’s just a matter of picking the right guys. I have a feeling someone in the mid 3’s is gonna go off.

Also, just to complicate things, I heard RichRod said Jerrard Randall will be getting serious time at WR in the game. That game is just totally unattractive at the moment.

“I do remember when San Jose State came multiple times to recruit some of the guys on the team and I was one of the guys they didn’t look at,” Arbuckle said Tuesday. “So it feels kind of good to have an opportunity to go against them now.”

Very unattractive for a 65 o/u game. Points have to come from somewhere unless Vegas is totally wrong. If az can stop unms two main backs it’ll be a low scoring game. I do like Baker w Wilson now out. Also getting colder in Cayleb, just can’t get a feel in how this game is gonna go. The other WR Johnny Jones or whatever gets more looks lately but not worth playing.
In other news, Glenn Smith is intriguing, could throw him in a couple. Likely low owned. Wonder if G state will try to run more. So in the LUs I have without Arbuckle I would use him. Love the HR potential of Pressley, but not many looks and splits carries.
I’m almost thinking most of the QBs will have 20-30 and maybe one has 35-40 so maybe that’s not the most important position to be focusing on. Finding that one WR or RB who goes for 30-40 is gonna be the diff in cashing or not.

I like Arbuckle a great deal as well, similar to everyone else. As for the AZ vs. New Mexico game, I’m rolling out Pressley from UNM. His price is nice at $4600 and AZ hasn’t stopped the run all season. He could be a nice play.

At WR, who would you like between C. Henderson (LaTech), McElfresh (App St.), or McKissic (App St.)?

UNM may be able to run the ball, but Scooby Wright is back and he’ll be looking to make up for a lost season. I know one player doesn’t completely overhaul, but I’d be hesitant to play any Lobos. As for the WRs, I think McKissic (Ark St) is the best call… however, Henderson may get some deep chances. I think Taylor and Dixon will draw corners and safeties up to the line with underneath completions and Henderson/Turner will try and take the top off the D.

This is my first year of playing CFB, does draftkings run contests for beyond this weekends slate, and the games for the 12/31 slate? If so when are those other games going to be released?

Last year they did— I’d expect to see a slate go live tonight or tomorrow for maybe a Mon-Wed or Mon-Thur for next week.

I like Henderson best of those. Not using McKissic at all. Maybe 1 LU if that. Had him in my first couple of LU’s but moved off of him. I’ll take my chances.
I don’t love Arbuckle like the rest of you guys, but I am using him in a couple just because. No other reason. I stick to certain rules and find that when I try to break them for some justification, it rarely works out. Playing him goes against my rules.
I am not endorsing Vick, but I am using him in about 150 worth of LUs. Half of what I used on Chris Johnson :-) . Good chance he will be low owned since it would not be shocking if Sprague got snaps either way. I just don’t love any of the QB’s tomorrow so I am gonna try to hit with the RB’s and WR’s.
Basically by some miracle Vick manages to outscore most of the QB’s on the slate, I will at least 2.5x my money. I also faded 3 expensive guys completely so I need 2 of them to dud. That would be nice.

  • nickrock23

Oh, and not sure if you all heard but Covey could play. Might be limited. Scott unlikely to play. Who is Wilson gonna throw to. This could be huge volume for Williams, although that does not guarantee success as BYU is pretty good against run, and very dirty team in general. Could be a low scoring ugly game with lots of fights and stuff.

  • Yombo

Wondering if I should try Baker or put in two studs at RB who might go off for high scores and hope to get lucky with my WR choices. It’s a tough slate honestly

Has Booker been officially ruled out for today?

  • fanturds

UPDATE: Booker (knee) will not play in the team’s bowl game, Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS: There was some hope that Booker would be able to return from an injury to his meniscus in time for the team’s bowl game, but head coach Kyle Whittingham cast those hopes aside Saturday. The senior running back will end the year with 1261 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns to go along with 37 catches for 318 yards and will look to rehab in preparation for the NFL draft.
