    CIMB Classic – October 20-23

Justin Thomas got his 1st win here last year – this is not my favourite event and the time change is a pain so I won’t have much action or commentary this week.

I’ll still do the 4 v 4 blog with larin1477 so look for that tomorrow at some point.

    Good luck Grinders.

Is 100% exposure to Adam Hadwin like 75% to much, there’s just nobody down at the bottom I like to balance out the cost of the studs

Safe to say I got the bug

glad to have you in my asylum. i suffer the same bug. I play the quarter max lineup so i need to choose one of the 50 already created. some do the same thing. Picking the best performing one of the mess is a crapshoot. Good luck/beginners luck/but no place with donations pryor to first tee.

When he makes the cut good for I think 14 avg birds which is about average I think for everyone? Somebody check me on that.

I think actually a bit better than 14?

I still haven’t figured out who the 60 PGA players are, the 10 on the Asian tour and the 8 sponsor exemptions are. That’s how the field is filled this week. There are a bunch of names I don’t recognize that could be Asian Tour or exemptions. I don’t see any “A“s next to names in the tee times, so doesn’t like any Ams are in the field this week.

    Bad form I’m guessing?

I’m playing 6 entrees this week, and they are all Ryan Moore. Confidence, form, and horse for course is perfect. Should be rested but not rusty. I absolutely love the guys putting stroke.

Someone from last week is going to go off, but who? Maybe Grillo could work around this course like a boss. Maybe he could make some putts?

Of the mature guys, I’m leaning towards KJ.

I have a strategy to find omissions or holes in my line ups after I have picked 90% my teams.
I wait at least 3-6 hours after I have my LU’s set. I then try to forget who and why I picked the players I did.
With fresh eyes I then refocus and go over all the players I did not pick. I try to justify why I did not pick those players.
I usually end up making 10 or more LU’s.
Its a good strategy because we can get blinded by the picks we make and omit some players that are very deserving to be added. I also find that sometimes I will then wholesale swap out a player I had previously picked and thought highly of.

I know that most people do this “second guessing” step after they have set their line ups. I am just suggesting to do it in a more systematic manner so that you do not miss certain players by making the same mistake or omission twice.

One thing I found was that I had completely overlooked a number of Asian players simply because I did not recognize their names. I did not end up taking any but this time I made the choice from an educated basis and not from blind omission.
I did find that there were a couple of Australian players I overlooked and now have added them to some new line ups I created.
If I do all this diligently, I don’t find myself second guessing my picks. In the end If I made wrong choices I do not beat myself up over it.

    Just some food for thought.

I hate these small not cut events like this always need to scale back without any sweat on Friday. Plus, DK isn’t giving any incentive to play so whatever. Anyway, does anybody have any insight on Berger’s shoulder? Surely he’s not flying across the world to hit one shot and pick up a check, right? lol.

That WD was 16 weeks ago and he has since played in the PGA Championship and all 4 Fed Ex playoff events with a couple good finishes so I doubt he has any issues with his shoulder limiting his performance.

lol. It still stings. lol. Just looking over the stats from last week Vegas was amazing with his ball-striking. 7th Off-The-Tee and 4th with his Approaches….but of course that putter 141st cost him a weekend slot with no cut might be worth getting on. I wasn’t on him last week so luckily I don’t have residue over getting stung by him.

I may just stick to Aces this week unless there looks like significant overlay on DK (yeah, right). My punt play there is Peter Malnati (3700) – in a no-cut event I figure you can’t go too terribly wrong.

Aces scoring is essentially strokes to par with a small premium for birdies/eagles and a small bonus for winning the tournament. So high variance players are not as useful there as on DK, but I suspect many will tend to favor the high variance players anyway (meaning lots of birdies and bogeys).

I’m going back and forth on Knox/Finau vs. Na/one of Harman/Senden/Summerhays. I’ll likely just play smaller than usual this week and enjoy actually watching a bit here on the West Coast.

One and done pick – Moore.

I’m seeing Live Golf on Wed and Thur night beginning at 9:30pm CT for 4 hours. That is not as bad as I thought for viewing times as I though we were in for middle of the night golf.

I’m still treading very lightly (hate small fields) but did do 3 LU’s in the Dogleg and the same 3 in the Birdie plus a few H2H’s.
I only did 1 LU in Euro for H2H’s and threw it in the Birdie as well.

Quiet week for me in golf but lots of NFL action as usual – if anyone wants an NFL H2H up to $20 on DK just reply here and I can send.

  • walkoff9

In case anyone was worried about a berger like situation to grab a check, don’t be. Only the top 70 make any money. $14k is the minimum prize.

My first run through lineups also gave me 100% Hadwin exposure and I felt the same way. Definitely feel he is the best play at that price but also like Chez Reavie.

Anyone know why Danny Lee WD here last year?
