I have heard that November 9th is the big date to target around CBB, but I could be mistaken. That is the date we are aiming to start having content on RG for CBB. – If you guys spot any big games sooner on sites, shoot me a PM and we’ll work on getting CBB content up sooner though!

I’ll be starting a CBB blog once CFB winds down. Will probably do Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

CBB starts next weekend. Then the next couple of weeks is all the great tournaments, with a lot of good match ups.

I as well will be writing a blog on CBB. I said it before but this year Freshman class is loaded.

You think CFB is hard to follow all the player news CBB is even harder. I know a ton of players that have already been suspended for the 1st game.

I know DS and FD said they would have CBB on opening night how about the other sites?

  • mrathburn

Fantasy Feud will also have CBB contests on opening night.

Anyone know if college basketball contests will be ready for next Friday, Nov 9th? I’m probably in the minority who loves college hoops DFS but looking forward to the season opening. Good slate of games.

Love it. 7 game slate. Just enough to keep it interesting, but not an insane amount of research needing to be done. A perfect start to the season.

Draftkings just released their college hoops for Friday. They included 63 games. That is entirely too many in my opinion. I just don’t think you can include all the games against lower level opponents for the biggest niche sport out there.

I am a HUGE college hoops fan and love playing DFS college basketball. But I don’t see anyway I will attempt to research this many teams/games when the contests just got released today. The time investment just isn’t worth the guarantees in college basketball in my opinion if ALL the games are included.

Unfortunately I think this could reflect poorly already on the participants entering these first couple GPP’s, only reducing the guarantees already. I hope I am wrong. I just wanted to voice my opinion when I saw the games released.

Probably not a great idea for this early in the season, but the player pool is really only from the power conferences, so it really isn’t as big as it looks since you can only pick players from 63 teams, not 126.

It also looks scarier than it is because about 80% of the listed players in the pool will NEVER be used in DFS. Once you break each game down, the usable pool is fairly small even with 63 games.

I agree. There is money to be made here because there are a lot of great value plays and a lot of players suspended and injured not a lot of people no about.

The problem with DK is that they are not including blocks and steals which is boring to me. I will probably be playing my CBB contest on Fanduel as well because i cant research 63 games….too bad…

I understand that. 63 teams is still A LOT for a Friday night contest that only got posted on Thursday. If there was $10k guaranteed contests, I would absolutely invest the time to dive in to the 63 games. But the guarantees are $1k or less. The 50/50’s are 8-12 players over $10. The only H2H are vs StLouisCardsFan. The guarantees are the nature of a niche sports like college hoops. I just don’t see the value in this case. Just my opinion.

I will definitely play Draftkings college hoops this season as I did last season. I just thought it was a bad idea to release the first contests of the year with so many games.

I hear ya man, I can’t argue too much with that analysis. If you are looking to get big money down then this big schedule probably isn’t the best. I’m just a small player going for less than $100 a day, so I’m good with doing the research even given the small guarantees. I’m mostly in it for fun, which makes my view a lot different from you guys who are doing this for profit.

I kind of like the big schedule, but I can see why bigger players wouldn’t be thrilled about it. Maybe DK could find a middle ground, say maybe limit it to the top 40 games or so until January.

  • lggarruto

DK has lots of value with many guys. I wish the contest was for more then 1k.

I would consider myself a lot more like you Tippy than a “bigger player” playing for profit. I mostly do this for fun as well. Some profits are just a bonus. I also enjoy building spreadsheets and doing research on the games. I’m sure I’ll end up looking at all 63 of these teams at some point soon anyways. It was just too quick of a turnaround for me with the contests just posted yesterday.

I guess my main point was I just don’t want to see the 63 game set discourage people from playing already. The pool of people playing college hoops is already very small. I think Fanduel took the better approach with the small game set tonight. Just my opinion.

More Games = More Edge = Higher ROI. Spent 3 hours researching all 63 teams last night, not as hard as it looks if you know what your looking for and where to find it. Im not playing a single game at FD because on an 8 game slate with more focused pricing value is a lot harder to find and your edge will be much smaller.

It`s the same with CFB, I`ve done way better on the big game sites (DK, DS) then on sites with small game sets like DD. But there are people like both so no reason that sites cannot cater to the different crowds..

  • Tippy

Also, just noticed this: Since DK is using the bigger schedule, they have games tomorrow and FD doesn’t. There isn’t a single matchup between power conference teams. Actually, there aren’t any power conference matchups until Tuesday. This will probably be a regular thing for the first month of the season so if you want to play, DK is the only option between the two.
