I disagree with your assertion that larger slates would push more casual player away. As far as I can remember there were plenty of casual players who played CFB 3 years ago when 20 game slates were normal. I also think it is a bit condescending to think that casual players cannot enjoy a more sophisticated form of CFB DFS. Btw I am not saying you were purposefully being condescending. I just think that dumbing down things for everyone to help the casual player, in the long run, helps neither. I also dont think DK or FD care about dumbing it down for the casual player, the only reason they limit the size of their slates are to incentivize people to play more slates.

3 years ago CFB GPP’s were pretty damn small. They are much bigger today than they were 3 years ago and that is with only half the states eligible to play. I still stand by my assertion that casual players, or players on DK who play other sports, would look at a 20+ game college football slate and just walk away. It is too overwhelming. The more games, the more skill edge for sharp players. Which means casual players lose their money faster. That is not good for building the ecosystem.

While DK obviously has been trending towards more slates, more rake; college football has been setup for a 12 o’clock main slate, 4 o’clock afternoon slate and 7 o’clock night slate. That was how it was setup 2-3 years ago before it went away. Another thing casuals do not like is having their money tied up for a long time. So a slate that starts at 12 and ends around 6:30 is better than one that starts at 12 and does not end until after midnight. Even so, the 12 noon slate could have 18+ games if they wanted it to. They simply exclude many games. Again the reason is that casual players (and even some sharp players) do not want to have to do research and dig into 15+ or 20+ games. I think 12-14 would be a good number. But 10 is not bad. 20 is too much. Just my opinion.

I stand by that 10 games isn’t enough, unless you don’t know the sport. No one is forcing anyone to play college DFS if they don’t really know it. Plus, with more games there is more exposure to other colleges out there that the casual player might know more then others. It always seems like there are funnel games on the slate with only 10 games available. This week is just another example. Also I disagree that the gpps were so much smaller back then. There were secondary sites with 5-10k top prizes back in the day. I played them all the time.

Ok. I hear you. Dont really know why we are spending so much time on debating the size of the slate here when all that matter is the 10 games on it tomorrow. FD has more games on their “main slate” so certainly play there if you want more games.

Anyone fading Henderson tomorrow like me?

I am fading Henderson and going to start Taylor Jr.

There is not a single play i like for under 4k this week on DK. Looks like Mack is going to play so he might be the closest, but Pickett could easily have a game where he completes like 10 passes.

  • jtkucheck

Schoen likely out for K-State, don’t see how Zuber finishes with less than like 10 catches.

Sean dykes could be a sneaky play. Hasn’t had a good year this year but eventually going to have a bounce back game

  • ElSlappo

Ugh just saw Whitlow left the game early and hadn’t done much – I have a lot of him unfortunately. And none of the KState RB – time to start looking at the night slate I guess

Right with you ElSlappo…..college DFS has been abysmal this year for some reason.

Edit: Now Ehlinger hurt……are you kidding me?

  • S7ubs

I guess fading Henderson for dexter was the mistake of the day. Sucks because I have a lot of KJ Hill

  • partypatrol137

Awesome Ehlinger out shoulder injury; I had thought just blood on his hand

  • thetitanlb

DK metcalf has 1 catch for 49 yards then gets hurt on the next play on the first drive. Like wtf….

Weird week. 160 wins GPP. Ehlinger gets 50, then 0.
