Hi everyone, we wanted to let you know that today college sports returned to DraftKings DFS, in select states. The initial CFB contests were posted to the main lobby a few moments ago, here

Where can you play? See the full list of eligible states, as well as other contest information here

Because regulations differ from state to state, please note that DFS contests will be live and viewable in the lobby for all, but users in prohibited states won’t be able to participate. You will see a pop-notification if you are in a restricted state.

There has been ongoing demand from the player community for the return of college sports contests and we are happy to be able to share this news with you. If you have any questions, we’ll do our best to answer or clarify here.

I am in Pittsburgh, Ohio would be the closest (like 50 minutes) but apparently, they cannot either, so WV would be my best bet, but 3h roundtrip is a big turn off I have plenty of time to realize I will probably go there just to burn my money haha. Also it is WV.
I really do not understand I thought we had the new legislation and we were all set ^^

Same thought. Was not aware this was in the PA law as they were NOT one of the banned states when Boom Fantasy offered College Football last year. Also do not remember it mentioned when I was reading the legislature.

What I thought was a very exciting day I’ve been waiting for for a while turned into huge disappointment. 1.5 hours one way to New Jersey is too far.

Same here, who do we need to thank for this great addendum to the law?

Here it is btw : https://www.legalsportsreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/PA-DFS-bill.pdf

Yeah, I was sure it was there. Figured PA just fell in line with all the other legislature that started in MA and NY. Frustrating as that does not seem like something someone would ever take the time to try to change now.

    Yep, we are screwed^^
I finally thought that Pitt games could become interesting, but that would be too much to ask I guess.

Gotta love the payout structure for the CFB 300K opener. First place takes away 33.3% with $100,000 and if you finish a couple points behind that lucky person and fall to 11th you get $700 lol.

If I live in a banned state and go visit a friend who lives in a non-banned state will I be able to play college contests while I’m there?

While as a grinder, I agree.. I wonder how many common players out there are thinking, “Hmm.. I wonder what I’ll get for 11th place!” when they are looking at the new shiny CFB contests on their phones.

i believe so just cant edit lineup once back in the banned state

  • tippycat

A lot of PA resident here, am one as well. At least we have Keno…lol.

  • bigez952

I didn’t really play College Football back in the day but did they always have the Flex and Super Flex options so you can play two QB’s? I will probably stay away from the promotional lottery they are running on the opening weekend but it might be fun to give some other contests a try since I am in an allowed state.

Don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to.

There will be a ton of value in week one. If you really do your research, cashing should be easy.

I thought you could edit lineups in a banned state, just not enter contests. no?

That has been changed. You can no longer edit in banned states.

When DFS got banned in NY a few years ago i could cross the border to CT , enter my lineups and then edit while back in NY. I’ve heard conflicting reports from people in banned states about whether you are still able to edit after entering , and im not sure if this would be different since a lot of these states allow DFS just not CFB.

No they changed that rule about a year ago so now you can only view contests in banned states and can no longer enter or edit. Maybe CFB would be different since your going back to a state that allows DFS just not CFB but I know you can’t do anything at all in banned states like Neveda.

  • Yombo

if you enter in an allowed state and return to your banned state, you can view the contests and get paid out? there won’t be a hold up in payout correct? o/w i wont waste my time

When did this change I enter lineups in Mississippi and come back to Alabama and edit lineups all the time
