Looking forward to this Corales course on TV. Supposed to be one of the most picturesque courses in the world. I’m kind of a tropical guy anyways, so I know I’ll like it. Long range forecast for the event looks to be favorable with only 20% rain chance daily with highs in the upper 80’s, lows upper 70’s, high humidity, but light winds.

Have not been to the DR but heard the course is nice as long as it’s not blowing too hard. I know a couple people that have played it.

In about 5 weeks, the Tour is in Bermuda and I’ve been there for work so got to play that Port Royal GC a couple times and a good friend lived there for about 10 and was a member. Always fun to watch a course on TV that you’ve played at or at least walked as a spectator.

You guys talking about not playing, you’re gonna miss Grillo week! He’s gonna win by 4 :)

I would think Chucky 3 sticks is more dependable than Grillo.

I have zero interest in this week’s tournament, but I’ve got to at least throw a dollar in each day for the ironman.

It really is. I can count on one hand the number of courses I’ve actually played that are or have been PGA Tour stops. TPC Sawgrass (couldn’t quite break 100 but close) and Chateau Elan (hosted the Sarazen World Series of Golf many years ago) , Inverness (FL), and Royal Blue in the Bahamas. I think that’s it.

  • timusbr

    dumpster dives at first glance
Julio Santos 6100 Club Pro has made the cut in 2 of 3 years (almost DFL but made cut)
but Bozzelli is at 6200 and won the event in 2016 when it was a Korn Ferry tour event.

    Boy, is it tough.

But don’t take my word for it.

Ask Jean Van de Velde lol.

Played Bandon a couple of days in late May the week it opened up. Enjoyed the US AM played on the same track but I do not remember birding any of those holes even from the forward tees? Still my best story is Saw Grass the week before the players and birded 17 2 days in a row from 138 yards!

Spieth now at 94. Unreal his drop the last few years. I hope he can get it together one day and start contending again.

So on the Gravy and the Sleaze podcast that I heard last Thursday afternoon on Sirius Golf, Drew Stoltz mentioned when he talked to Spieth before the US Open Spieth said he wasn’t expecting much at the US Open due to the fact he is working on something with his swing.

That’s crazy, cause I was expecting a lot from Spieth!!!

Fade US Open players ? or fade most of the US Open players ?

You do realize Adam Long and Mac Hughes both played in the US Open (Long made the cut, Mac missed)

I’ve played the Corales Course and the La Cana course (same property). Both were awesome courses, and I probably could’ve played a lot better if I wasn’t downing Presidente’s (dominican beer) like it was going out of style. The ocean side holes were almost distracting due to the views.

We are currently looking at rental properties that are on the course and trying to plan a trip back. Hopefully I’ll get more than two drunken rounds in this time.

Just getting up and around to see it being drizzly raining and upper 60’s today at Payne’s Valley which is about ten miles ENE of me

I’m hoping the sun does peek out for the best beautiful Ozarks hills and dales scenery as they should spend a lot of time between shots viewing and critiquing Tiger’s first public golf course

Unfortunately there will be no spectators or I would take a day off work and go watch them

  • titanhawks

Also; I can’t pick up the Happy Meal Cup standings on my laptop or phone so was wondering if whodat could add it in the header?

What are the greens fees like when you stay there, or can you get that packaged in with your rental?

I really miss the “google sheet” doc.

Have you checked out the sheet from @FantasyGolfMan? I don’t see one posted yet for this week, but similar to the old google doc that we know and loved.

haven’t looked into if the greens fees are discounted if you stay on the course. When I played there I was staying at a different resort. Want to say somewhere in the neighborhood of 150 to play la cana and 300 to play corales. Add on caddy, drinks, other tips, and something from the pro shop and the green fees are about half of what you end up spending.

We’ve just figured out if you have 10 people willing to go you can get an all inclusive type experience in a very nice house for close enough to what a resort would cost per person, and no drunk morons running around to worry about (with the exception of myself).

When I graduated high school my dad and I did a golf trip to Scotland, we hit St Andrews, Carnoustie, Gullane and one or two more local courses. It was 2005 right before the Open at st Andrews so the stands were up there and I actually played pretty well there, but Carnoustie was a different animal entirely. We had local caddies and they were telling us certain putts would break what looked like uphill and they were right, messed with your head.
