9/7/16 Update: DraftKings lineups can now calculate player exposure based on total entries or unique lineups, just like on FanDuel. It even works in the UK now! If you already have the DraftKings Chrome extension enabled, it should update automatically. If not you can reload the extension (see instructions below). Version 1.2 is the current DK Chrome version. The extensions are still going through the approval process for Firefox users.

    Hey everyone,

With football right around the corner, it’s a perfect time to check out some RotoGrinders tools called, “browser extensions.” Extensions are small pieces of software that you add to Chrome or Firefox. The extensions offered by RotoGrinders work on FanDuel and DraftKings. Here’s what they do:

    Margin & Overlay

The site margin extension calculates the dollar amount that the DFS site collects for running each contest, displayed as a percentage of entry fees.

The overlay feature displays the difference between the amount of buy-ins and the prize amount guaranteed by FanDuel or DraftKings. Overlay can be displayed as a dollar amount and/or a percentage.

These calculations are not available for contests that include ticket prizes, and overlay is only shown for the contests that are guaranteed to run.

    Player Exposure

On the ‘My Lineups’ page in DraftKings, and under the ‘Upcoming’ and ‘Live’ tabs in FanDuel, you can now see your ownership exposure to an individual player across all of your lineups.

For more details about installing the extensions and a demonstration of how they work, check out these short videos:

    FanDuel

    https://youtu.be/sZP_wR_lBaw

    DraftKings

    https://youtu.be/nI61EcMwrZ0

Any of these options can be enabled or disabled at any time by going to chrome://extensions and clicking on the ‘Options’ link underneath the ‘RotoGrinders – FanDuel Tools’ or ‘RotoGrinders – DraftKings Tools’ extension.

If you already have the ‘Rotogrinders – FanDuel Tools’ extensions enabled in Chrome, the latest version is 3.2 for FanDuel and 1.2 for DraftKings (as of 9/7/16). You can check what version you’re running by going to chrome://extensions. Click the ‘Reload’ button if you aren’t up-to-date and the extension should update with the new features.

The Firefox updates for DK is here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/rotogrinders-draftkings-tools/

If you have any questions or trouble, please let me know.

wouldn’t this conisder cheating? Because when it comes to slate that have 3 games or fewer. All you gotta do is max out the players that are most widely use then it will guarantee you shot at winning. In those contest is usually comes down to who get the most players that can hit into their lineup, looking for upside in small contest like that has no value. And I know you guys just want to help out. In my opinion, there’s alot of cheaters out their already. Last things a legit hardworking fantasy players need is a tool to help out those cheaters. After reading the article release by DK. I start to understand why some of these guys, like to put multiple entries of the same lineup in the contest. Or 2 or 3 of their friend doing the same thing in contest to knock others players out. Fantasy is no longer how it was anymore. But great tool. So thank you

I got emails from them saying extensions are not being allowed, are you sure we can use them.

Thanks Nicole and Co! Been wanting this forever. Sick of having to figure this out by myself.

Is the firefox extension already confirmed to go through the approval process? Or are you still iffy on whether or not it will? The margin/overlay extension still works fine, so i cant imagine why it wont, but im impatient.

Extensions that automate site actions such as entering and editing lineups are not allowed. Our extensions simply display data from information that is already available on the page and do not make any additional requests or automate user actions.

I think you misunderstand what our browser extensions are doing. We are simply displaying the percent ownership of players for lineups which you have already entered.

In the past, we offered the ability to enter multiple lineups via the extension. However, that was disallowed by FanDuel and DraftKings, and we removed that functionality from our extensions. Now FanDuel and DraftKings provide their own built-in tools to multi-enter lineups. Whether you think that’s a good or bad thing, when you do it through the tools FanDuel and DraftKings offer, it is not considered cheating.

Anyway for them to calculate the total $ dollar exposure you have as well? Been struggling to find a way to do both easily.

@lakergreat1 are you asking about how much money you have in play per lineup or the average $$ you are allocating for each position on the roster?

@Kaizoku If you think multi entering is super easy and guaranteed way to win try maxing out the quarter arcade sometime and see how well you do. It is not easy at all to win. Say today on the late slate for mlb there are 2 games. I have 3 people locked in every lineup and there are still over 500 plus combinations of players to use. And on a sidenote this has nothing to do with mass multi entry cause people that enter 150 lineups already know what their exposures are. This helps out the people with like 10 to 20 lineups way more.

Any chance we can get the DK extension on the UK version (https://www.draftkings.co.uk)? Many thanks

Great extension! Just curious, would it be possible or against DK guidelines to be able to create a script that would easily be able to show how many max entries there are in a particular tournament? In other words, being able to sort by how many entries there are by each player rather than having to scroll through the entire list (currently). You can currently do this by downloading the entries but not until the contest starts. I was also wondering if there would be a script to be able to show a player’s ranking when you hover over their name. No worries if you can’t do this, just wanted to check! Thanks again!

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know that adding the player exposure calc options on DK (like we have on FD) is the current thing I’m working on.

@Bigo1 I will look into this. It shouldn’t be too difficult to add the extension to another URL, but when I use that address, I just get redirected to the regular DK lobby. What’s the URL of the ‘My Lineups’ page?

@golferdude31 I’m not sure of the answer to either question but I will find out. Thanks for the suggestions.

I don’t have any say in anything, but I would think “Player Rank” would almost certainly be a no go because we are adding an outside element of information to their page/site. All the functions of these extensions are intended to decipher information already available on the site in a much easier/faster fashion.

Agree this would be helpful. $ in play and upcoming by slate and game type (GPP, Qualifier, 50/50s, Heads up)

yes.. i was talking about if I have 300 entries in 20 different tournaments and various buy-in levels.. calculating the exposure per $ per player as well as percentage. Can make a big difference. And DK of course :P Thanks Cal and Nicole.

Thanks! As db730 mentioned, the ability to see player rankings might not be possible, but being able to sort through a contest based on number of entries would be cool. It’s information that is already available, just takes forever sorting through it at the moment since it’s in no particular order and you have to highlight your mouse over someone’s name to see how many entries they have in a tournament.

Can we get a color coded extension like the previous Fanduel extension. It is hard to decipher the star system to select head to head opponents. It would be very helpful and faster to select opponents if each line was color coded like it used to be (red, yellow, green).
