    Tennis is back!

I mean don’t jump in all at once but let’s chat some tennis at some point.

  • JSteele

    I’ve got

    Federer
    Serena
    Osaka
    Riske
    Lajovic
    Rybakina

    Uncomfortable

  • EhhTimmay

Real poor decision by the chair in the Schwartzman match.

  • nickbloggerman

Serena looks really off her game. Good showing by Wang though to take advantage

  • yisman

damn, I had played tennis every day for achievements and I figured I had plenty of time but then I got called out on an errand.

Just missed it. smh (I had missed main slate because it locked at same time as NBA)

  • Kassdog

If jabuer can finish this I’ll be sitting pretty good in most of my lineups

  • sportsnut11

Not to get ahead of it but just looking for tomorrow, some good value on both DK and FD pricing wise. Fritz and Verdasco are both potential upset picks. Both he and Thiem went 5 sets. Zverev could blow up at any time and Verdasco is just steady and always hanging around.

  • Kassdog

Idk what’s worse football announcers or tennis announcers. In this Williams match they have said both wang is playing great and Wang just isn’t doing her best.

No, that one didn’t start so well. When I get one like that I sort of hope for 0-6 to get all the bad stuff rolled into one night. If I’m not going to cash I might as well at least finish last.

I’ll be asleep long before mine’s even gotten off the ground:

    Bautista-Agut
    Fucsovics
    Osaka
    Pella
    Querrey
    Riske

Probably too much chalk there to do anything even if it works. Need to stay off the Americans—all the ESPN hype bleeds into ownership I think. My theory is to make a list of all the matches, then cross them off one by one as players are mentioned by the ESPN studio hosts. When you get down to six, pick six winners. You’ll end up with a lot of plays like Li/Cabrera and Badosa/Larsson where nobody’s on either side of it.

Fucsovics was an ok play I suppose—he’s less than 15 percent at least.

Can you imagine if ESPN covered football the way they cover tennis? They wouldn’t come back from halftime until midway through the fourth quarter because they were too busy with studio interviews, and the scores scroll at the bottom of the screen would say “LSU wins…Alabama upset”… but never give any scores, or even mention who they’d played.

That sucks. Maybe we’ll get a lot of rain at Wimbledon and they’ll be forced to play on the middle Sunday. An extra slate would catch you back up.

Odd question about DK achievements (I could ask them I suppose but somebody here will probably know and it’ll be a straighter answer): if you run the same lineup in multiple entries, do stats count just once towards achievements or do they count every entry?

Sometimes they say “paid lineups”, sometimes they say “paid entries.” I’d like to think they always mean precisely what they say but does anyone know for sure?

  • OttawaCityMadman

Awesome. Im 2for2nand Riske starts with 2doub faults and gets broke. Awesome

  • Yeoman

    Everybody Wang Qiang tonight?

    (I didn’t.)

I’m halfway there to 0/6 just need fed and Osaka to lose and Riske to stop playing the 2nd set well

  • Kassdog

9 double faults for riske, wtf

  • JH822547

This late slate is absolute carnage, I was pleased with myself with 2 dogs winning and 4 favourites to play

Turns out all the dogs are winning.

  • JSteele

I may actually get 0/6! Go millman

Edit: saw Riske won ah damn

  • sportsnut11

Holy Shit what a match that was to watch. Down 8-4 I thought he was done and damn. You go Rog. Man he looked dead on the mat. He’s alive now.

  • JSteele

I’m glad I caught the end of that match I didn’t think it would still be on since it started 1am my time

  • skleni

    What a comeback from Roger…

wins a win to them, but 45pts, man, that is I think the worst winner score Ive seen

  • JSteele

The good news is I can’t do much worse than I did last night.

Soooo what do we like for today?

  • skleni

What would have been the optimal line-up yesterday?

What would have been the optimal line-up yesterday?

The first place lineup in the line painter looks pretty close. 5 80+ scores and Tennys Sandgren. I know some of the other winners didn’t score over 80 like Raonic.

Today the pricing seems a bit more friendly. You don’t need to reach for uncomfortable value like yesterday. I like Fritz at 6k on the low end to beat Thiem. He has beaten a number of top 10 opponents going back to last year. He did beat him in the Laver Cup most recently. Zverev has been playing well but is always prone to implode every now and then. I don’t think the mental issues he had last year are affecting him right now which is great to see for him. I can’t see too many upsets today, Pliskova, Halep and Mertens have been playing extremely well and I see that continuing. I’m leaning towards Stan over Isner and Swiatek over Vekic

  • dw12290

Like Fritz and Zverev tonight for sure. Still tinkering with things and may end up with Svitolina but not sure how far I’ll go with upsets. Still a few hours away so I’m sure I’ll make some changes.

  • LegiaWwa

Today seems like a good day to pay up for Rafa. Ended up heavier on Kyrgios and Pliskova as favorites. Upset picks I’m looking at are Kontaveit, Goffin (Rublev has to break down at some point), and Gulbis. Though Gulbis is most likely a 5 setter, which is bad in DFS.
