    Tennis is back!

I mean don’t jump in all at once but let’s chat some tennis at some point.

80 people of the 1800 on FD have both Sakkari and Petra…

Well, first set going to tiebreak which is what I would think would be a best case scenario…

  • gvn2fly1421

Well, 6 of the 80 have taken both Raonic and Cilic as well… Save to say there are definitely drawing dead!

  • JSteele

Sakkari has really improved her shot making this season. Last year she really only had her hard hitting going for which was easily dismantled by anyone with an adequate return game. She’s going to climb up the rankings this year for sure

  • Roma315

Currently tied in 8th. Need the upset. Have Fucsovics left. Tied with 7 others (same LU). First also has multiple players tied but no one left.

Not looking like the upset will happen 😂

  • Deltfish

Ok DK for today slate, worth playing both kyrgios and Nadal in cash?

  • dw12290

Made a LU I like leaving $2,800 on the table in the DK Round of 16 tonight. Hopefully it won’t fall apart 15 min after it starts.

The best way I’ve found to avoid that is to fade the first match.

  • dw12290

Good luck tonight everyone. Went with some upsets that I hope happen but will just have to wait to see how quickly things either fall apart or work out.

Did 2 LU’s in the Round of 16 Special.

    Kontaveit 51.2%
    Kyrgios 12.6%
    Medvedev 63.1%
    Muguruza 39.9%
    Rublev 31.6%
    Thiem 56.5%

    Bertens 38.4%
    Halep 55.9%
    Kerber 39.6%
    Monfils 17.8%
    Nadal 53.8%
    Zverev 48.7%

  • JSteele

    Medvedev
    Thiem
    Halep
    Pavlyuchenkova
    Zverev
    Kyrgios

  • Yeoman

    Same lineup at both sites:

    Halep
    Kontaveit
    Monfils
    Muguruza
    Nadal
    Zverev

Not confident in the Muguruza play.

  • dw12290

Yea I wasn’t to skippy on my Muguruza pick but thought she would be lower owned than 39.9% and my gut said play her. I have Bertens in my other LU so that’s my only consolation if she loses.

  • Baysman

Wow Mertens stinks. Was up 4-3 in the first set. Lost 6 games in a row since.

  • LegiaWwa

Kontaveit is allergic to winning service games

  • OttawaCityMadman

Yep. She had the first set locked and fudged it.

Monflis is looking hurt too. Theim is really making him work. If GM goes down 2-0. I can see a withdrawal happening or a 6-0 6-1 …

  • Yeoman

I think by now I probably should have understood that there’s a reason Thiem/Monfils matches are never close. Thiem’s about to win his 11th straight set in the h2h and the average is between 6-2 and 6-3. It’s not so much a difference in their levels as that it’s just a brutal matchup for Monfils—he lets himself get run ragged out there.

  • OttawaCityMadman

Holy crap Kontavt is killing me. Needed a Nice little hold to win the match at 5-1. Not bloody likely. She finally held to get back up to 6-5 now. But she could have had 70+

  • Kassdog

At least my night is done early. Might have a couple live lineups in the $1. But not worth it. Going to bed.

  • dw12290

Started off good ended up with goose egg.

  • MotownGreek

If Medvedev would have won I likely take 1st in everything I play. Somehow with that loss I still came in 4th in the $10 $1k SE. Highest finish I’ve ever had without going 6/6

agonising close here too. Needed Kerber to win. And Kontavt not to get broken 90% of her games…

  • JSteele

I was able to min cash going 4/6 with Med and Kyrgios losses

This two day slate seems interesting at least I will know if I’m done by the end of the day

  • Yeoman

I’m definitely off the chalk in this next slate. I’ll probably finish dead last (not counting the odd zero from someone who reserved but forgot to enter).

  • dw12290

Just can’t see Raonic winning today. He’s 0-9 against Djokovic and will probably be 0-10 after tonight. But to be different I think you have to take a chance that he somehow finds a way to win. Then again even if he does win will he get enough points to push you to the top of the leaderboard.

  • MUwarriors91

Think Jabuer, Thiem, and Stan are the underdogs with a chance to win.

Thiem had an epic 5 setter against Nadal at the US Open 2 years ago before he even picked up his play on hard courts. Stan has never won against Zverev but if he is recovered and plays like he did last night he is winning in straight sets. Jabuer has power to end points fast against Kenin. She cannot get into long rallies with Kenin. The one issue with Jabuer is that when she is cold she is cold but when she goes on a hot run in a tournament she usually never losses in a blowout. She should at least take a set in a loss.

Kvitova/Barty is a true toss-up. I am taking Kvitova since I think the crowd will have a reverse effect on Barty. She does seem to let the pressure of playing at home get to her.
