I’m starting to think about building tools for next year’s MLB season. I’ve been playing around with the search at’s Baseball Savant page ( It’s pretty cool but there are a few things I want to do with it that I can’t seem to make it do:

    1. Is there a way to get other “expected” stats that aren’t listed in the drop-down? Specifically I’d like xISO and/or xSLG (don’t care which, they’re interchangeable once you also have xBA). The stats aren’t in the drop-down, and typing the appropriate stats directly in the URL fails. Alternately, any way I could get the underlying x stats (like x1B, xHR, etc) so I could build them myself?

    2. Is it possible to do a query that returns results for more than one stat? So I’d like to get both xBA and xwOBA in the same webpage, for example. There only seems to be a single “sort by” option in the dropdown, but again I could be missing a hidden trick.

For the record, Savant now has xSLG. Not sure when they added it, but that solves #1. To follow up on the more recent helpful comments, I do use xstats quite a bit, I love what he’s done with the data. The limitation is that he doesn’t have a means to track the stats over “x” number of days; he has past months and this month to date. Useful in many ways! But I’d like to be able to track a fixed period, and Savant does allow you to do that (for the data it has).

    Thanks for the replies.

I am building some Python programs out to get all the data from baseballsavant daily and then manipulate it in the program and spit it out to Excel. I’ll be able to do everything you want with this… we can chat a little more about it if you wanna DM or email me
