I will not use any information gathered from this tournament to use for the Masters.
For myself I feel there are way too many extra and unique variances here to apply it anywhere else other then other match play events.
This tournament forced players to attempt shots that they normally would not make.
They played not just against the course but also every different competitor they faced. Most faced different competitors.
Their overall strategy would be so foreign and completely different.
Psychologically it would have been such a completely different expierence.
So many outcomes were so far from OWGR rankings and probabilities.
I would not be surprised if this tournament and its format had a negative effect on many players for the Masters. No matter where they finished.
Just my opinion, but a strong one.

Great post Jim…Justin Rose is on the record as he will never play this tourney as long as it’s before the Masters as he feels the prep is not right for him heading into the Masters. Also need to keep ears open for Kevin Chappell news as he WD because of back and is not playing at the Houston Open. Personally I feel it made Dustin a lower owned play at the Masters due to his performance and JT playing well.

I gotta say, I thought having Noren would be moving the needle on my LUs, instead they are all just holding completely steady.

Bubba’s nice run has me now winning every H2H except one where I’m 1.1 points behind. He has Noren, I have Bubba so I should get the win there based on the Holes Not Played when Bubba closes Kisner out earlier than Noren win if he does.

I didn’t play as many H2Hs as normal but going 26-0 this week would be better than going 50-25 on a normal week.

No doubt, same team used in all?

    Yah same H2H for all

Bubba, Kooch, Rory, Day, Henley and Fritelli

I got 2 thru to the Weekend and the other four all went 1-2 so at least they all got some win points and avoided the popular cash DJ/Rahm/List land-mines

  • JimKronlund

Ranked 22600. 600 ranks away from the $8 golden egg.

If you were cash positive in this event on the whole (or even close). That is a great achievement that very very few others could say.

I’m going 0-15 in h2h’s. A bubba Watson and warm body duo would have been enough to beat my cash team this week.

This tourney was a complete catastrophe for me. I’ve never missed so hard on a player pool before. I’m going to have 1/20 lineups cash.

Agree Jim, between the two sites and two tourneys I lost $65 this week but I won a $33 FD Masters tix to help offset some of that $65 loss.

  • ElSlappo

Every dollar I put into this event was lost. I spent a large amount of time studying that bracket and carefully choosing players who mostly immediately shit themselves. Next year a dart board will be involved in choosing lineups.

  • JimKronlund

I got to Rank 20K and my sweet $8!
My only other win was my only H2H. I wont mention names as we both were dreadful, lol.

I did thoroughly enjoy the tournament and the DK format.
So many interesting new ways to digest and dissect it.

  • BIF

    Top lineup had 774.90 points
Bubba, Noren, Garcia, Reed, Kooch and Woodland
    Finished 238th of 95124 in the $400K GPP and won $35 😂

H2H lineup got 545.50 and went 26-0 but 6 of the wins were by less than 5 points and thanks to Bubba were enough to hold off Noren and JT lineups.

Lost overall in GPPs despite having a top 0.035% lineup. Cash games saved my week…as usual.

Edit – oh and I won 6 Masters Milly tickets…..onto one of my more favorite events, The SHO (Shell Houston Open) which I’ve been to twice.

You have to be happy with that.
$65 for entertainment that had 4 days with 2 tournaments and 3 slates across 2 DFS sites.

Min cashed my single LU. Loved the format. Excited for the next match play event.

Bubba is now an 11-time TOUR winner.

For the Course History truthers, Bubba is your poster boy

    - 2 Masters wins (Augusta)

    - 2 WGC

    - 3 Genesis wins (Riviera CC)

    - 2 Travellers wins

Bubba will definitely carry more ownership now… not sure how I feel about that.

  • Logan7777

And after an API T66, with a mediocre 70-70-72 and Sunday meltdown at 79, I never would have thought he’d perform as he did this weekend. Good for Bubba.

I’m usually busy then with my own golf schedule but would love to see/play Muirfield Village because a guy I know played college golf at Ohio State, played it a bunch and speaks very highly of it.
