Hate the Cowboys but LOVE this. Putting emotion aside, definite upgrade over Shady and him not taking the yards he needed in favor of foolish cutbacks. What do my fellow Eagles fans think?

stupid. hopefully this is just a ploy to get dallas to pay for him. coming off a season of over 400 carries. only eric dickerson, emmitt smith, walter payton, and ladainian tomlinson didn’t see a major drop off or injury following a 370+ carry season.

I love/hate it. Man is a beast, but last year was his first legit/fully healthy season he’s really had.

I love everything about what chip is doing.

the eagles are gonna have the all injury team. Bradford, Murray, Matthews. Hey Harvin is available

  • jonconnington

Between Murray, Mathews, and Sproles there should be a solid 6 weeks out of each of those rbs.

i would much rather go with a running back by committee. ryan mathews and maybe cj spiller or someone in the draft. we have one of the best o-lines in the league and an offensive genius in chip kelly. no reason to pay for a back with a history of injuries. the best two offensive coaches in the past 10 years (belichick and sean payton) always used multiple running backs.

    Are you for real?

His new QB has about the same level of mobility as Peyton Manning.

The WRs the Eagles have are completely terrible.

The Defense still has huge holes at CB and S.

The Eagles are going to be a joke next year, only positive for them is signing Byron Maxwell he is a good fit.

Still coming off an over 1800 yard season while McCoy regressed. To pluck him from Dallas would be even better! He’s our most legit threat we face every game, not Romo or Cryant.

Like I said, he’s a bull for extra yards. Can’t say the same about Shady.

Can’t say I’m crazy about Chip BUT, Ertz and Jordan Matthews are emerging threats. I think Matthews will be the WR1. We need a WR2 though and the answer is NOT Racist Riley.

and people aren’t mentioning zach ertiz. i think this will be his breakout year.

Running back is far and away the least important position in football. Both Dallas & Philly can plug competent runners into those systems and get production.

Dallas drafted Murray in the 3rd round, paid him nothing, rode him into the ground, and now saves about $9 mil a year. Enjoy him, Philly.

Agreed. And Jordan Matthews will be there with him. He’s over his early ball dropping rookie nervousness. Just get that WR2 and Riley Cooper is a decent WR3.

We’ll be fine but I’m not 100% sold on Bradford. If healthy, he is better than Foles. I hate to admit it, but I have to. Worth the risk and salary over Foles? Hell no. I still think Chip’s words are a red herring to divert Mariota attention. Remember “Foles is our guy”?? Yeah, thought so.

702 yards last season is very good. now with maclin gone, you gotta think more even targets.

Mathews isn’t going to sign with the Eagles if Murray signs.

Overall, I like the move of trading McCoy for Kiko Alonso, and likely signing Demarco Murray for less. If we get Murray for $6-7 million per season (Dallas was offering $5 million per) I don’t mind the move. If we are paying Murray much more than that, I wouldn’t want to allocate that much to ANY RB.

That doesn’t mean I like our outside WR situation. We have NONE. I also am not a big Bradford fan, but he could be the reason we land Murray (former roommates at OU).

I wouldn’t underestimate our receiving situation. I think with Maclin out, Jordan Matthews is our clear WR1. I could see a 1200+ yard season out of him.

Again, Zach Ertz. Not in the conversation with Gronk and Graham as safety valves, but on the high end of the Tier 2s such as Witten, J Thomas, Daniels, etc. I could easily see a high 3, low 4 figure season out of Ertz.

No RB is worth north of 7 million, I agree. Few more holes to plug, we’ll be fine barring injuries.

I LOVE Jordan Matthews. I just think he is better suited in the slot. I’m not sure how well he will produce on the outside. There may be a learning curve for him again trying to play as an outside WR in the NFL.

I really think the Eagles have to draft a WR at #20 now.

If Jordan Matthews is your #1 WR you guys have the worst receiving core in the NFL.

And cutting Desean was the worst decision ever, he was the Redskins best player last year.

At this point it would be Doral Green – Beckham who has an incredible 40 time and size or West Philly native Jalen Strong who has decent size with good stats.

I’d LOVE Amari Cooper despite the fact I loathe Alabama and my wife went to U Tennessee-Knoxville.

I actually agree with you only on DeSean. Merry Christmas! He is a deep ball threat we are sorely missing. Sadly, many shall I say “socially conservative” Eagles fans including some of my friends and family applauded that move but are OK with Riley Cooper who is terrible. And that is why I usually place in most season leagues and participate in DFS.

Kiko Alonso is a great fit. Murray could get 2000 yds in this offense. We’ve seen what that old bunch of Andy’s guys can do and that is not win championsips. Chip is doing what needed to be done a long time ago. I dont want to lose in the 1st round every year. I want a super bowl. Those guys werent bringing anyone a super bowl. If you want different results you have to do something different. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing every time and expecting different results. Ask Dan Snyder.

The Redskins hired the best GM in football (Scott McCloughan, built the 49ers and helped build the Seahawks) and we have hardly signed anyone in FA so far, so the Redskins are taking a very different approach.

A key signing always helps. But a whole team of aging stars and egos NEVER works. Who knows what will happen with Chip. I’m feeling a possible Steve Spurrier vibe with him. As a Skins fan you would know.
