Why was this product discontinued? This was very important for tracking results.

Are there any plans to bring this back and if not does anyone else know of any other good sites to use to track your results?

  • Ross

Unfortunately, the DFS Analyzer had some pretty major issues this morning and we had to take it down since it was not operable.

As of right now we do not have of any short term plans to bring it back, but will let you know if that changes.

I sure hope it comes back.. it is/was one of the most useful tools on rotogrinders. Tracking results is very important

You can export your own results from the beginning of time via cvs on DraftKings at least. From there you can bring that data into excel to track and filter whatever you want. This tool isn’t needed and can be easily replicated via excel.

This is absurd, just gone? Is there any way to go back and recover what was already imported?

Dang, my only real reason for visiting RG weekly after I stopped doing premium. I bet they’ll come back with a pay to play version.

Yea, I think RG is going to realize how useful and popular this tool was. Just taking it down overnight seems pretty ridiculous. I would suggest doing everything in your power to fix the bugs and get it back up and running. A lot of people, in my estimation, consider this tool a vital part of their premium subscription. Edit: Maybe it’s not premium?

It was never a premium tool and was free since it was introduced. I am actually kind of surprised with the feedback that so many used this when you can get the same thing yourself with a 5 second excel filter/ graph. I never used it myself as I have always found much better info on my own using excel.

I never really used it but what did it have that you couldn’t recreate in the matter of seconds using an excel program? I am big on tracking my play by sport, contest type and all of that so I can see my ROI from year to year but maybe I am missing something RG offered since I have always done it on my own.

Much easier since FD doesn’t make things terribly accessible and the back-end work is taken care of. Also not all of us are fluent in Excel.

That makes sense as I don’t play FanDuel and life would be a lot harder without the nice csv files that Draftkings provides to make filtering the data really quick and easy.

I would recommend using Rototracker if you want someplace to view your results. I’ve used it for a few years and it’s spectacular.

BigEz – I am not nearly as good at excel as you are but maybe I am mistaken but I doubt excel is nearly as good as this tracker was. Unless you are just that good and can filter stuff to see how you did at certain buy ins, GPPs, showdown, H2Hs, certain slates etc. Maybe it’s possible but even if it is I can’t do it.. and Fanduel is extremely difficult w the way they do it.

Just seems absurd that it “blew up and is unrecoverable” or some nonsense. There’s really no backup from the past 4 years? Make it part of our paid subscription if need be. I would have no issue with that since I already pay for stuff on rotogrinders.

Rototracker looks good but on top of all my other DFS subscriptions paying another $ 32.50 a month for NBA and NFL seasons kinda sucks… but I guess I’m gonna have no choice.

I don’t play FanDuel but I know they don’t offer csv files so I am guessing using excel is a pain in the butt there.

However DraftKings using the CSV file they offer it is really well labeled so with the use of filtering and//or pivot charts you can quickly sort, graph and pull ROI info for just about whatever you want. Filtering is super basic and an easy way to look at one thing at a time. Pivot charts are a little more complicated if your not familiar with setting them up but you can do some really cool things with those and even add in drop down menus so you can quickly go sport to sport or any other parameter you care about like buy in amount or contest size.

However I guess I do make a living with excel charting and use it for everything so once seems like a no brainer to me probably isn’t the case for everyone.

DraftKings also stores all your data so you can go back to day 1 whenever you want to start fresh.

In my opinion this was the most useful free tool on the site. BigEz if you can recreate this in Excel quickly, more power to you, but I can’t imagine very many people can do that. There were so many ways you could break down the data and analyze it with no work required, I feel like it’s a really big time investment to recreate that. I didn’t really want to have to spend my time learning how to do all that in Excel, but I’m not seeing any great alternative. This tool was extremely useful to me.

Also I find the excuse that they had “major issues” and it is inoperable and have no plans to bring it up is a bunch of nonsense. As someone who did computer programming in the past it is (nearly) impossible that they had no backup created. The excuse also makes no sense. They haven’t upgraded the product in forever and unless the site got hacked how did “major issues” occur.

We all put a lot of trust into rotogrinders using the product to begin with that our statistics will be held private.

The excuse given is a slap in the face to the rotogrinders community IMO

Your post is a little dramatic there.

The Analyzer has not been supported for months due to the low amount of members actually using it.

I understand it’s something you were passionate about, I actually used it myself for a few years, but it does take time and resources to keep supporting a product and the RG team is using that time for other products that more members are spending their time using.

And I’m sure he finds your post “a little dramatic” as well, Bill.

The fact this tool just vanishes overnight with an illogical explanation warrants questions being asked. It’s hard to believe what was said happened, actually happened. If you’re taking it away, just say you’re taking it away. How in the world does anything digital just disappear with no backup?

As I said, it has not been supported for months as I stated in this thread that can be found a few pages back: https://rotogrinders.com/threads/dfs-analyzer-tool-3113959

It did not disappear overnight, it’s been a gradual thing and now it’s a tool that is no longer available.

It didn’t just disappear. We removed it since it was not functional. Without it working at all there was no reason to keep it showing on site.

So was it inoperable as original post stated, or was it just taken down? That’s what benstunner and I are asking, and if there is any way to access any data that was potentially stored for continued personal use.

What other explanation do you need?

Ok thanks Ross, it was working fine up until it was taken down, that’s the reason for the confusion.

Around 10:30 on the 20th is when it completely stopped working. No file uploads would work and most users could not get past the log in screen. After our dev team took a look at it closer and realized how serious the problem was we removed it from the site at 2:45.

It may not be gone for good but it needs quite a bit of work to get into working shape again. As of now I do not know if that is something that will happen or not, but will let you know if I hear anything.
