What website do you prefer for dfs badesball, Fanduel or Draftkings and why?

    Thank you

I only play on Fan Duel. I prefer the one pitcher and simplistic rule set. Also it’s just a better looking website for my eyes.

I prefer Draftkings. I think having two pitchers is a huge edge if you’re good at figuring out pitching. I think FanDuel offers a better variety of cash games if that is what you’re into

  • Jvanspro

I much prefer FanDuel. I like the roster construction and really don’t like playing two pitchers.

  • TheRyanFlaherty

    DK’s
FanDuel tends to have much higher ownerships and awful payouts. Also tend to see more duplicate lineups there. You have to be basically perfect to even min cash.
Also prefer the variety of game types on DK, the achivement promo is great, easier to stack (if that’s your thing) with 5 batters and multiple position eligibility. You can actually win the 237 leagues and micro boosters which can be a good way to build bankroll. I can probably go on, but those are what come immediately to mind.

FD – the positive I can think of is that it can be easier to construct lineups due to one pitcher and more ridged lu construction (though less so this year with the utility slot) but being easier to build lineups also leads to the negatives I listed above.

you nailed it. DK also does a slightly better job with collusion, FD ignores it completely.

  • rickkain29

I prefer DK for the same reasons as listed above, I love the option of adding that second pitcher. It is more challenging to have to pick two pitchers that you believe are going to play well rather than just one. I like that challenge.

If you want to make late swaps without being by a computer, Fanduel’s app is vastly superior (at least on ios). It lets you swap up whenever you have salary and shows the batting order status of each player. I’m not sure why DK hasn’t not copied this.

If draft kings starts cutting out late games on the main slate regularly like they did tonight then it’s soon going to be fan duel for me.

Don’t like the quality start stat and don’t think Fanduel should be giving points for it.

What do you think is more indicative of a good outing for a pitcher, a win or quality start? While I may not agree with what constitutes a quality start, wins are mostly based on offensive production and have nothing to do with the pitcher. Personally, I would much rather play on a site that awards points for both.

  • bucherpsu08

I prefer DK because of the pitching scoring. FD is very dumbed down in that regard. On DK, you have to factor in WHIP where on FD all you really care about is K’s, IP and the moneyline.

It’s a subjective stat and shouldn’t be rewarded. Especially when 5 shutout innings score less points the going 6 and giving up 2. A win is no different than an RBI. It relies on other players on the team, for the most part, to achieve.

I don’t agree with it being subjective. It’s not subjective when there are clear metrics that need to be achieved in order to be awarded a QS.

Technically you can get an RBI without any help. You can’t get a win without any help.

  • bucherpsu08

Dylan Bundy has a 1.35 ERA through 3 games and is 0-1.

Shohei Ohtani doesn’t need any help to get himself a win. He can pitch 9 shutout innings and knock one out to single handily win the game while the other 8 guys sit there and watch and maybe play defense now and then which is also needed for a quality start.

  • Jvanspro

    S. Manea 1-2, 1.74 ERA
    T. Bauer 0-1, 2.08 ERA
    M. Boyd 0-1, 1.38 ERA
    D. Bundy 0-1, 1.35 ERA
    J. Happ 2-1, 3.94 ERA
    F. Hernandez 2-1, 6.60 ERA
    R. Ray 2-0, 5.74 ERA

The point is a quality start matters. Wins also matter but team context hurts several pitchers. I would much rather receive points on what the pitcher actually does and not have to rely on the bullpen and offense to hold the lead.

True to a point but if the defense boots a bunch of balls and the runs are not earned the pitchers still will receive a QS.

With the exception of first pitch fly ball to the mound, technically there is no way for a pitcher to score any points without the help of a teammate.

He doesn’t bat in the games that he pitches.

The quality start isn’t a great stat, but it’s far better than when the win was worth double what it is now. The worst part of FD’s scoring is the juiced up runs and RBI. Bases should be worth more than those.
