Thank you!! Very pleased to see this, and much looking forward to having some baseball to watch again. I’m sure you’re still trying to get a feel for how many people are going to want to play at all, but I am hoping that in addition to the Classic mode that at some point we can get some KBO Showdown games too, even if it’s just something like a weekly featured game a la Sunday Night Baseball. I’ve found myself enjoying the Showdowns for MLB as much or more than Classic mode over the last season or two, and with the KBO it seems like it’d be a really good way to get acclimated with the league, players, style, etc. I’m sure once the season rolls on for a while that Classic mode will become more appealing for me, but right now I just want to sit down and watch a baseball game while I’ve got a little action riding on it and not be trying to worry about the entire league.

Why is it disallowed in NY?

  • jjwd

now if we can just convince the KBO to change the game start times…

  • mandrzejewski

I had the same question regarding this being disallowed in NY. Why is this the case? This would be really nice to play.

NY is dumb and has a law that DK has to register and pay fees for every new sport. For these sports that are not going to be long term staples of the business it doesn’t make any sense for DK to try and jump through the NY hoops to get these temporary sports approved. Once MLB is back there isn’t going to be a demand to play Korean baseball DFS.

super excited for this. the same 10 teams play 5 game slates every day, and all the games play at the same time. should be pretty sweet.

The contest will start in a matter of days and less than 400 people signed up. Is that unusual for big contests that require reservation?

would be really sweet, except games are usually at 4:30 am eastern!

No. Who wants to tie up funds days in advance to something that it isn’t necessary and most likely doesnt fill. I’m sure if you could draft a lineup already the number would be closer to 1000

We appreciate the excitement and, like you, look forward to what the future holds for Korean Baseball DFS. We’d be happy to offer achievements and showdown contests sometime down the line, but in order for that to happen, Korean Baseball DFS needs to build & grow an audience. Once the demand is there and our testing assures us to take the next step, we will. We’ve seen this happen recently with our new eSports DFS offerings, hopefully Korean Baseball can get there as well!

Why is it disallowed in NY?

We’re afraid that is outside of the scope of our team’s role, we cannot comment directly on what regulators permit or what the possible future is for New York residents. We can share that we wish NY’ers could get in the game as much as you do!

    Chicken or Egg?
Most of us aren’t total degenerates who need to play Korean Baseball DFS to get our fix. I was suggesting you offer some sort of incentive like you did for Esports. You could make it part of a larger Baseball Achievements program

I agree with this statement as there is a 0% chance I would be interested in playing Korean Baseball like I said last month for eSPorts and emptied after I emptied by DK account. That 30,000 crown ironman achievements made me redeposit and play every day. I even continued to play the CS:GO road to rio slate today but if there is no May incentive I will probably take a break until the PGA returns (hopefully) in June.

I will admit. I fall into this category. Very excited to finally get a baseball fix.

That’s cool. I enjoyed playing Spring Training DFS but we all knew it was temporary. The notion that they need to “grow” Korean baseball dfs before they offer incentives/promote it is misguided

It’s a temporary solution like Outlaw Golf

Thank you for getting the Showdown games in! Much appreciated, hope they start filling up a little better as things move forward. That was awesome all around, tons of fun to watch, and safe to say I’m hooked. Now just have to figure out how to fit this in with getting sleep normally……

Thanks for providing KBO. It’s almost like learning a new sport. I actually missed it when they took yesterday off! What a degen!
