    So Seth Yates ran 3 SB pools on twitter. Took 3 K from all different people via PayPal and Venmo and never paid out the winners. He hasn’t tweeted since Super Bowl Sunday but has been active on RG as early as yesterday. I wasn’t a victim but he just screwed 3 K from members of the DFS community and maybe some people in this very forum. He was an Active poster on RG and also wrote a few columns in the past. Anyone hear anything? The guy use to tweet everyday all day and now nothing. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

    Damn I had 0-3 square and was so tilted that Brady didnt sneak that inch to lock up a win for me. Guess I would have never gotten paid. Seems so unlike him.

    I have a working theory. My guess is he bet the money on Rams and is simply going to be unavailable until he has earned it back and will pop up and be like “my bad guys!” Again doesn’t strike me as the type to do this. He’s clearly not dead. Or in jail. Assuming it’s accurate he has been active here since. Maybe we should start a board for pick the date he pays up. Never wins at the end of the year.

    Dude you shouldn’t trust me i only have like 40 twitter followers…….on a more serious note i wasn’t completely not serious about the pool because well we love to gamble. My current personal guess would be around march 5th but could change if we did get a pool going.

    At this point he is getting blasted on twitter and there are MEMES of him and even a mug shot from a recent arrest (Nov 2018). I think he just ghosts everything- His twitter accounted will be deleted soon- I’m sure his notifications have been turned off. This might be too much to overcome. Sucks to go out that way, but the internet never sleeps- or forgets.

    Ill start a squares board with days of the Month till the following happen.

    1. He makes his first tweet/post (doesn’t have to be related to this incident)
    2. He explains what happens
    3. He makes the first payment to someone
    4. He completes the payments
    5. Bonus round (He never does any of the above or doesn’t finish paying by March 31 for a square 1-1 win)

    Overtime will go through 31 March

    I don’t know Seth (other than following him on Twitter) and I’m just catching up on what happened with his Squares pool, but I think it’s worth noting that Squares are still technically illegal:

    and people do get busted for this kind of thing, particularly when it reaches a certain level of exposure (Seth has over 13,000 Twitter followers):

    He’s logged in to RG on Monday and Tuesday, so he’s able to communicate the situation to people; he’s chosen not to.

    Sure – and I’m totally speculating here – but if you’re charged with a crime involving other people, I’d think the dumbest thing you could do is send a public (or even private) communication out to the other people involved saying “Hey sorry I haven’t been in touch about that illegal thing we were doing, got jammed up and haven’t been able to reach out.”

    The fact that he was allegedly arrested for a DUI recently makes me suspect possible substance abuse/ money issues

    Seems like he just ghosted with a measly 3k…sad but I’ve seen people scam for much less

    If he got busted by the feds over a 3k squares pool I will be SHOCKED that was their threshold. It’s possible I suppose but id lean he made a few “sure things” bets and is trying to raise the money to cover everyone which even then won’t restore his reputation so he will likely just vanish into the night.

    This is all speculation, but he could’ve left any type of message in this forum that made no mention of “illegal activities” if he was at all concerned about easing people’s minds.

    I HIGHLY doubt this is what happened. And even if they did bust him for running squares, I would imagine they’d only be after him, not everyone who partook. Just like when a bookie gets busted. They want the bookie/leg-breakers, not everyone who ever placed a bet with them.

    So the Feds busted into his house at halftime and arrested him and have been holding him in jail since then? He was posting every hour up until kickoff for like the last 2 years. It would be unfortunate if anything seriously happened to him, but I think it pretty much looks cut and dry. Dude just vanished after taking 300 entries worth of payments. Unless he’s in a maximum security prison, there are ways to inform the contestants that something happened outside of his control.
