So Seth Yates ran 3 SB pools on twitter. Took 3 K from all different people via PayPal and Venmo and never paid out the winners. He hasn’t tweeted since Super Bowl Sunday but has been active on RG as early as yesterday. I wasn’t a victim but he just screwed 3 K from members of the DFS community and maybe some people in this very forum. He was an Active poster on RG and also wrote a few columns in the past. Anyone hear anything? The guy use to tweet everyday all day and now nothing. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

don’t worry guys, Seth is just on a free cruise right now and will pay you back once he wins back all your money with the free bets. The man is living the dream!

Even though it is apples/oranges I’ve always gotten better offers from casinos than any DFS site. I only play table games where house edge is just 3-5% yet I regularly get free cruises and around $2K per month in free bets. DFS has 17% rake and you never sniff those kind of perks

If DK wants to win a little PR, they would ban him

  • Morley

agreed but that’s a slippery slope so would never happen – they can’t be setting precedents like that

Seth played numerous DK contests yesterday, including NBA showdown for a live final qualifier. Well, he didn’t win. What a scumbag. Not paying people back. Driving drunk and taking the chance of hurting/killing someone. Pretending to be his “friend” and BS’ing on the forum. Just pathetic.

Has anyone tried to contact him outside of the internet? His friend posted that people need to stop calling him, so seems like there are ways to have come into contact.

His profile shows he was last here on the 13th. I want to know if he’s been here since (not logged in/private browsing) to read this.

“RG” – Look at your IP logs and give us a yes or no. The people deserve to know.

Why would DK ban him? That makes no sense at all.

Do you really need an IP log to know the answer to that question?

I see everyone mentioning the cost, forgive my ignorance I have thankfully never been arrested, anyone have an idea what this amount of legal trouble could end up costing someone? I mean purely financial as well, not possible prison time, job loss etc

I had a sister in law who got a DUI and my father in law mentioned to me that it cost him almost $10k when it was all said and done with lawyer fees and all that…

so you get a couple of those back to back and you are going to be hurting

Of course not. But data and confirmation is better than no data and conjecture.

What a scumbag. I remember the good old days of 2+2 scam threads. Someone needs to spin up a website like the one for Nick Rainey

    http://nickraineyisathief.com/

He deserves for this to follow him for life.

  • krighton

i think Seth had a preseason RG package a year or so ago i signed up for…lives about 30 mins from me, nice guy to chat with.

I’ve seen first hand how this type of thing very quickly spirals out of control, especially if there’s some type of substance abuse issue.

His back is against the wall, especially with a wife and a couple kids in the mix. Easy to pile on at this stage (but i have no skin in this game), sorry to see he’s in over his head, hope he can come out of it and the investors get their $ back eventually.

For what it’s worth, Nick Rainey recovered from his own scandal and is currently ranked 29th in the latest O35 ITF Tennis rankings:

    https://www.itftennis.com/seniors/rankings/rankings-list/players.aspx?Gender=M&AgeGroup=V35&Nation=Any&From=0&To=50&Name=&Type=S

There is a real possibility that Seth will recover from this debacle and become a credible member of society. We’re rooting for you, DFS brother!

From a degenerate standpoint i get trying to get out from under debts but backed by good intentions. Compounding mistakes is a part of life. Funny thing is, there are a ton of people here and on twitter that might have helped him with legal fees if he had paid the money then asked. Hell I’ve seen far stranger gofundmes raise money.

  • EadesScience

Wow…just Wow! Why would you ruin your reputation for a measly 3 Grand? If Seth really did this, and it appears that he really did, there has to be some set of circumstances in which he felt that there was no other option. I can’t for the life of me understand the Why part. I get the Why he is not posting anything about it at this point. It is because he would be crucified and humiliated on the forum. Nothing about this seems logical to me.

  • Messiah717

It’s pretty pathetic that he’s in so deep that he’s flailing away in DFS tournaments to try and make a score.

Stew you run first class ncaa pools hope you do again this year.

I mean the Knockout Pool has a prize pool well over double that $3k……

Joking aside, I have not made a definite decision yet. It is very time consuming and the wife is not a big fan of it. I will probably run it again in some form but I am fine if the participation decreases a little this year.

Pretty sure he’s divorced, think I remember seeing him tweet about it or a new girlfriend or something. Tried to find the tweet and came across this, pretty funny/interesting in hindsight

Just an idea for you, the website officefootballpools.com hosts knockout pools. It might cost $1 an entry, but they would do all the work for you which would make the wife happy. Then you just collect moneyand pay out at the end, that’s it.
