So Seth Yates ran 3 SB pools on twitter. Took 3 K from all different people via PayPal and Venmo and never paid out the winners. He hasn’t tweeted since Super Bowl Sunday but has been active on RG as early as yesterday. I wasn’t a victim but he just screwed 3 K from members of the DFS community and maybe some people in this very forum. He was an Active poster on RG and also wrote a few columns in the past. Anyone hear anything? The guy use to tweet everyday all day and now nothing. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Just an idea for you, the website officefootballpools.com hosts knockout pools. It might cost $1 an entry, but they would do all the work for you which would make the wife happy. Then you just collect moneyand pay out at the end, that’s it.

Thanks. I’ll have to look into that. Logging all the picks and chasing down people who have not sent them is the most time consuming part. Plus having to be at a computer to send an email (or three) right after the first game tips off.

Was in a CBS knockout pool last year, and have done many a contest on officefootballpools.com. Never organized it but the UI is super intuitive and easy.

If he was an air force vet, doesn’t he get pension from the government?

    I vote # 2! LOL— I know that guy………

FYI- this thread would have gotten to 25 or even 30 pages if a ton of posts weren’t deleted.

Just nothing more to post about really. He hasn’t said anything and no one has gotten money back. Him playing DK is old news too. It was a good ride for a minute.

Didn’t someone mention that Seth won $250 in his own pool? Maybe he should reach out to these guys and ask for payment.

On what basis are you calling them slimy? They are one of the best DFS companies out there.

  • Russthabus26

Yeah seth did win one of the squares. Maybe he will reach out to them. That would be priceless icing on the cake.

I think those guys are serious about paying his squares off. Honestly it’s a fairly cheap and yet brilliant advertising/business strategy. Surprised guru elite or someone didn’t do it a week ago.

What type of discharge does that get labeled?

Probably what is called an OTH (Other Than Honorable). Which would also mean that you shouldn’t be telling people that you are an Air Force Veteran too. It’s not a Dishonorable Discharge, but it does mean you got kicked out.

I thought vets were set for life, especially if they fought on the field. They get less pension than teachers, even after 19 years of service?

Reality Winner worked as a contractor after being discharged from the air force, I wonder why this guy couldn’t find a decent paying career with his military background.

Are we sure this guy that stole money and got arrested four times in a year isn’t lying about his service too?

Maybe it’s the “Here’s 8 SGs and 7 centers we like on a 5 game slate, you figure it out” and the whole not answering questions that is supposed to be part of the service. Also don’t like the approach of having 50 writers, (not paying them, that’s another story), but having 3 people in the War Rooms before lock with 500 subscribers.

And this publicity stunt will up that count.

yeah contrary to popular belief non retired vets are kind of on their own (unless it was a medical discharge, wounded in action etc.)

until recently they wouldn’t even get discounts at certain food places, only active duty or retired…..

there’s the GI Bill you can use for education and VA Home loan (some perks with that but no lower interest rate) and Vet Medical (i won’t be using that unless i’m at the end of my rope). Anyways, it is what it is, they had an early out/drawdown in the early 90s or i would have stayed in.

Can confirm, 3 years out from hitting my 20 years. The retirement is nice but it is far from set for life. Its a nice cushion to have especially starting to collect the day you retire and not have to wait till 65. The medical benefits are a cost saver but having to deal with the VA is painful in its own right.

They just changed the system to go away from do 20 or get nothing and is more in line with a 401K type retirement.
