DK has lowered the top prize from 100k to 50k this week why? This GPP, has had a 100k top prize all season.

As the season goes on less people play and they have to shrink the contest every week until I am guessing the top prize of 100K gets to be an insanely high % where they finally decided to lower it to make it not so out of line. The Milly Maker is down to a $3,000,000 prize pool this week when it started above $5,000,000 early in the season. At 33% to first that is getting pretty ridiculous but I am sure they will keep that top prize but just make the prize structure even more terrible for the last few weeks.

Games shrink for every sport every year in DFS as many people after losing for a couple months stop playing until next season before trying again.

This is complete nonsense. No clue why DK continues to do this but they have been doing it for years. If the large field GPPs are still filling, it makes no sense to reduce them. Last week’s play action had 495k entries and filled well before kickoff. This week the total number of entries was reduced by 100k entries and the prize pool obviously reduced. Makes zero sense. With a rake right at 19%, that’s $57,000 that DK just lost for no reason and this is only one example. Almost every large GPP has continued to fill but the prize pools are consistently reduced.

At the moment, the DK $3 Play Action is at 0% overlay with just under 4 hours to go til gametime.

The rake is 15.9% 118890\1118890=15.88. People make this mistake quite often when calculating rake.

    It’s total entry fees-guaranteed prizes/total entry fees.

They know how much money they have in deposit and the amount likely to be deposited on game day to cover these contests and would prefer to lock in rake opposed to losing overlay on going for extra rake. They are no longer in growth mode but capture mode.
