DK Cancelled the 7 PM NBA and NHL contests but NOT the 7 PM MMA (and why that’s ironic)

Do you guys see the irony in this?

All players could not edit any lineups for any sports from like 615-7. That even applied to NFL even though NFL is for Sunday and not 7 PM.

However there was a 7 PM MMA slate. DK didn’t cancel those and let them run as usual even though you couldn’t edit those either. They cancelled and refunded 7 PM NBA and NHL.

Hope you guys can see the reason why. It was never about the small time customers. It’s all about their bottom line. There is no way they cancel and refund the NBA slate if some high dollar max entry pros didn’t complain. If we complained about it they would have done nothing.

Since no or very little high dollar max entry pro plays MMA really, they were ok with that slate running. But if they let NBA run the max entry pros might get mad and quit since they weren’t allowed to edit their lineup.

I bet they weren’t even going to cancel NBA or NHL until some high level pro like Awesomeo or youdacao or ChipotleAddict or likewise emailed them. Once one or a few of them emailed them DK was probably like crap we don’t want to lose him so let’s cancel, but only in the sports he complained about in since he doesn’t play MMA anyways. After all one of these pros contributes more to the rake than like 100 of us combined so our 100 emails don’t mean anything compared to his 1. Just think about it and see they didn’t cancel MMA and the evidence is quite obvious.

Hope you guys see how much DK cares about small customers. Do you wonder why their new promotion to make up for this involves a “deposit”. It’s all about the bottom line for them.

DK probably saved one of those colluding brothers or those two colluding players youdacao and his buddy tons of money today. Given they never have been banned, DK clearly has catered to them in the past and I’m sure they’ll continue to cater to them. One email from them saying I have 150 lineups and I can’t edit them can you cancel everything please and there you go they get their wish.

At some point in the past, I found a FAQ stating that it does not, but I can’t find it again.

I just messaged them on twitter and they confirmed that the mission points don’t count

Is FantasyDraft the only other site besides fanduel/draftkings that offers NHL?

$400 is the max bonus. So $1000 is the deposit for the max bonus.

You earn it back at $1 per $25 played. So you offest the rake by ~20% depending on buy in level.

    What a win.

    max bonus is 1000$

I read it as the maximum bonus is $1,000.

In such cases, they don’t name a maximum deposit, because they’re happy to have you deposit $2,000, etc.

They’re naming their maximum exposure with the bonus.

I just requested a new Discover card and if I get it in time, I’m depositing $2,500.

    I confirmed this:

    “ Good Evening,

Yes, this is correct. You will receive a deposit bonus of $1,000 if you make a deposit of $2,500.

With that being said, you are able to deposit via credit card or PayPal.

If you have any further questions, please let us know.”

Like I said, they’re not naming a maximum deposit amount, because the more the better as far as they’re concerned. They’re setting their maximum exposure, meaning they will not give more than a thousand in bonus dollars.

    From the email:

    Terms of Offer
To claim this deposit offer, you must deposit at least $5 by 11:59 PM ET on 11/19/2017. Upon deposit, you will have the opportunity to earn a bonus equivalent to 40% of this deposit, with a maximum amount up to $1,000.

The wording is unclear. Is the deposit maximum $1000 or the bonus maximum $1000?

Either way, still only benefits the sharks with the 90 day period limit to accrue it and the way it pays out.

    Beat me to it.

So what would the average daily amount in play have to be to earn it all? 278 a day over 90 days?

    Basically.

I can’t believe people are actually being baited into this. Unless you’re like Yisman and actually play around $25,000 over three months, DO NOT chase this bonus. It’s a money grab.

Again to make it clear. DK doesn’t care about the small time people. Never did never will. Whys that so hard to understand.

I intentionally posted this to get their attention I’m sure there are some lurkers there.

    read the posts preceding yours…

Also it doesn’t “only benefit sharks”. It may benefit them more, but it benefits anyone playing to get 4% back to offset some of the rake.

I’ll just say this….i won’t be playing at DK anymore once my tickets and FPP are used up.

It’s one thing to cancel a slate due to tech problems. It’s another to:

    A) cancel guaranteed contests after lock, which is what they did

    B) then try to make money off it with an “apology” that is nothing more than a money grab. I mean, what store or place of business do you know that responds to a problem or customer service issue that is THEIR DOING by saying, “I’m sorry….to show our apology, please give us more money.”

I’m not stupid. It’s a shame so many others will be suckered into this by DK. And it’s even more laughable that DK is pulling a stunt like this after such a big snafu. It just shows you where theit intentions truly lie…its all about making $, customer be damned.

  • whitepuma

Anyone received their freeroll tickets yet ??

  • nickpierce723826

No but just got response saying we will get email later today about free contests.

DK is on some bs right now. They could have gave us a decent amount of FPP and hosted some decent freerolls to keep most folks happy, but they rather disregard their obligations to their customer base which is complete bs.

The deposit bonus is obviously a scheme and I hope some of you don’t get sucked in to it by looking at the “40% bonus” nonsense.

Say you deposit $1,000 in hopes of clearing the $400 bonus

It takes $25 to clear $1 of that bonus.

Therefore, you have to play $25,000 worth of entries to clear a $400 bonus. Clearly worth it, right?

DK does the right thing by cancelling contests that would have disadvantaged a ton of players in the community, offers up a free contest and also gives people a deposit bonus opportunity and people are still complaining. Crazy.

You may not clear a $400 bonus but you are still getting a small rake reduction every time you play. So what if you don’t play $25,000 worth of entries in 3 months. What if you play $5000 in 3 months? You still get a free $80. This offer cannot possibly hurt anyone unless you deposit more than you can afford and are not practicing proper bankroll management trying to clear a bonus faster than your normal play would dictate.

Every couple of months a DFS conspiracy theorist or just a regular whiner comes along here and posts the same non stop garbage that you whine about. If you don’t like the way things are done, don’t play. Why is that so difficult?

There is no rule saying you must play $25,000 in order to receive anything. It is 90 days of reduced rake and a smart person wouldn’t change their playing style and take whatever bonus they end up with. They could have done nothing so I don’t have a problem with them offering 90 days of reduced rake.

Run the numbers for me please and let me know the exact percentage it’s saving on rake each entry.

Say you do a $1000 deposit… as stated, it takes $25,000 in entries to clear the entire $400.. What’s the % on that? Do the math for me and tell me exactly how much ‘rake’ is being knocked off each entry…. because the math I ran doesn’t make it too appealing.

But I’m also not one of those guys that finds 5 cents on the ground and picks it up so I guess minuscule offers don’t really appeal to me.

a 400$ bonus would take $10000 in play to clear, not $25000…i can see why your math makes it unappealing.
