I did not see this promoted so I was unaware it began last night with Miami/Houston, but anyway:

It seems they’re giving small bonuses to people for playing in showdown contests from 10/25-10/31. Today is 35 crowns.

I dont understand why the prizes are so small, I get 200 crowns in a mission for playing a $10 contest, why are they offering 35 to have to potentially enter multiple contests to get the prize? I dont want them larger for me to get crowns but to give people incentive, I play showdown a lot and like it and I think if they offered a tangible award for it more people would try showdown out, 35 = ~ 7 cents, seems just silly.

I discovered how it works now.

They list some contests and some of them award bonus Crowns and some do not.

I don’t want to complain but it’s not a very good promotion.

I am 0/1 now because I tried the NBA one tonight.

35 crowns?? Wow, sorry DK but that’s pretty embarrassing if true.

I have an idea…lets give away a few cents and make it look like we are running a cool promotion. Maybe everyone will be too stupid to figure it out and we can get some more entries into some higher dollar contests.

Thought the promo was kind of cool until I read the prizes. 30 crowns is laughable I don’t even care what the hidden prize is

The promotion was intended to provide extra bonus crowns on top of:
    (1) missions
    (2) achievements
    (3) daily rewards

These three rewards categories are where we primarily provide crowns to our players, our seasonal promotions like this Halloween one is just a little bit of extra bonus in addition to missions, achievements and daily rewards. Think of the Halloween promotion as a cherry on top of the other three ways to achieve rewards, its our way to give even more.

Here is a little bit of insider nsight: we have seen a lot of users change their standard contest entry behavior specifically for this promotion. This means it was a great success in encouraging players to participate in contests that they may not have normally considered as their primary focus, its one of the many ways we work hard to retain players and introduce them to new sports & contests to consider to grow the DFS ecosystem.
