      2016 DraftKings FFWC Finalist

I sent DK an email that I wouldn’t be able to be at a live final because I have a newborn baby and wife at home, so it would be incredibly irresponsible to leave them alone. Their response was basically that if someone doesn’t show up, I would forfeit my prize and it doesn’t matter what my personal situation is. Does anyone have experience with this in the past, seems pretty messed up.

I would agree that it would be an easier sell to my wife if I had > 300k in equity like I did last year. But I intentionally didn’t do that this year for this very reason. I think you’re missing the point. No matter how much equity I have at stake, I would rather be at home with my family but to each his own. I went the past two years but now have a baby, so find it really difficult to justify.

LOL, then why the heck did you even enter the contest in the first place? You knew you had family obligations as stated and yet you entered and complaining now that you won a seat its a huge inconvenience to go to the live final.

You were aware of the rule, or it sounds like you were aware, going in, so there doesn’t seem to be any unfairness here.

If it’s clearly stated in DK’s rules, then the best you can do is find a proxy. And it’s perfectly legitimate for DK to have that requirement in their own rules.

This is such a non issue if you can send a proxy. There’s probably a million people who would take you up on a free trip.

Weird – wasn’t looking for sympathy – was just wondering if anyone had previous experience and how to deal with it.

    Result: end up getting attacked.

    Welcome to RG forums.

I think people here are really missing the point. This isn’t a job where you need to show up to get paid. It’s a purely recreational event that we’re all paying lots and lots of money to the sites to participate in. Can they force you to ignore personal responsibilities, or else they can pocket the money if you can’t show up?

My bad, you’re the victim. You’re always the victim. Just like when you illegally and unethically cleared the FD NHL H2H lobby everyday for the greater good of your pocket book, I mean the industry.

Wait now that I read this and it seems like you were aware the whole time the rule. I actually assumed you didn’t even know the rule, which isn’t an excuse but makes it slightly better.

Now I’m actually starting to think he doesn’t even have a wife and a newborn baby and that’s just his “excuse” for not having to go to a low equity live final becuase it’s just not worth his time (since for him 5k is nothing as he already talked about in his other post about how rich he is).

In this case since you even knew the rule, you shouldn’t even have entered any live qualifiers in the first place.

You know what? Let me check something. Not sure I can find it now. Let me check if this guy has entered into any live qualifiers of the bigger NFL tournament. I know he hasn’t won any but let me see if he’s entered any. If he’s entered any then his entire argument is just a lie. He says he “intentionally” didn’t enter any into the larger NFL tournament but let’s check if he has or not. I don’t know how to dig up old past csvs. I wish I did for this reason. But the fact you “intentionally” did not you are admiting you even knew the rule going in. Such entitlement. Just keep running your CC deal. You’ll easily make what you lost back here if you don’t find a proxy in no time.
