DK now has different high stakes contests with the new rake.

$1 to $50 is still the same with 10% rake.

    These are the new ones:

    $105 to win $200, 4.76% rake
    $207 to win $400, 3.38% rake

    $515 to win $1,000, 2.91% rake
    $1,030 to win $2,000, 2.91% rake
    $2,060 to win $4,000, 2.91% rake
    $5,150 to win $10,000, 2.91% rake
    $10,300 to win $20,000, 2.91% rake

Only applicable to a few players but thought I’d share. Any contests with a lowered rake is certainly a good thing.

EDIT: Apologies, I did not see that these changes only apply to MLB.

Does anyone even play highstakes head to head for baseball? Feel like they could lower that to a dollar and it wouldnt make a difference.

This is something that should have been implemented in the early days of DFS when it was competing with sports betting dollars. In a $100 buy in the prize amount was $80 which is akin to laying -125 in a game. I never played heads to head as it seemed insane that you have to win 5 out of every 9 contests just to break even. Good job by lowering it now but doing it now when sports betting is now becoming legal seems like a desperate attempt now since the head to head lobby on all sites has been dead for years. I just cant wait for the day a legalized betting exchange makes it here so DFS and the sports betting sites who severely limit your play or kick out winners will be left wondering what happened when handle seizes up like the DFS heads to head market has!

At least the elite high-rollers are catered to and that’s really all one can ask from a DFS company

They did that for one reason only…some high roller or rollers threatened to either move their action from DK or just stop playing DK all together. They didn’t do it out of the kindness of their heart.

DK now has different high stakes contests with the new rake.

We have noticed a lot of misunderstanding about our very good intentions, hopefully this post will help clear things up.

We are testing a new entry fee structure for select non-guaranteed contests, exclusively for MLB this season. It was our intention to perform this test quietly to see if the changes were noticed, once our good intentions were uncovered we decided to embrace it as a promotion instead.

We chose the $100+ contest range for this test, the data we acquire will help us make entry fee decisions in the future across a wide range price points. A side effect of the lowered entry fee is a reduction in the commissions taken by DraftKings as the fee for hosting the contest – this of course benefits the player community while we capture the data we need to make future decisions.

The reduced commissions are applicable to

    • MLB, non-guaranteed contests until the end of the regular season
    • Greater than $100 Entry Fee
    • Single entry contests with 10 or less entrants
    • Not applicable for contests that are resizable or satellites

    Any further questions?
